Hi, my name is Rob and I can't be happier on a motorcycle with camping gear packed on the back and just ride to the next adventure. On this channel I will post the movies I made from these trips and sometimes I might do a review or just share my experience with a product I bought and used myself. In almost all cases that will be motorcycle or camping stuff related.
I hope you can find something on my channel that you like or will give you some inspiration for your own next journey,. If so, then please leave a like or consider to subscribe, it will help me a lot to explain the rest of my family why I spend all my money on video equipment and motorcycle stuff :)

My new wings exhaust for my Yamaha Tenere 700
By the way: The Wings does well in this comparison test: th-cam.com/video/szvI6JZ0niY/w-d-xo.html
Thanks a lot for this, Rob! 👍 Did you ever consider mounting a high exhaust can, like for example HpCorse? And why didn't you go for any of the high ones? Yours Wings sounds great. Is it much louder than the original version, you think? Many thanks in advance! 👍
Hi, I prefer the look of the low exhaust over the high one, that is the only reason. The high one might be a better solution, I just put on my Touratech softbags when I go out for offroad riding so they will take the hit when I drop the bike. The wings exhaust is not a very loud exhaust in my opinion, I don't think it is much louder as the stock one, it just sounds better.
@@robmotorcycletravels I get it 👍Again, thanks a lot, and very helpful 👍

What is the tracking drone you are using ?
@@moneymakeredge1 Hi, it was a DJI Neo, but I would not recommend it for that as it can only follow you up to 20 km /h

Mooie video, welke camping is dit?
Het is alweer even geleden…maar ik denk dat dit Landgoed Mariahoeve was in Papenvoort
Thx for making this video. I hated the stock seat. I got a Seat Concepts seat and that was a little less terrible but still not good at all. I have a Corbin, it's better than the other two but hard as a rock and good for one hour then it gets uncomfortable.
@@murlyn2 Thanks for your feedback !
I'm thinking of buying one of these, but I ride quite often with a passenger. I see that the slip-on doesn't have heat protection like the original one so I'm not sure if the passenger shoe will burn or not (taking into consideration that she'll have the foot slightly in contact with the exhaust). Have you experience riding with a pillion?
@@sergioviegas3407 I have driven a few times with a passenger and never experienced a problem with this exhaust.
@@robmotorcycletravels thanks for the feedback 👌🏼
This is an honest and most helpful review. A very good video. Thank you.

Hey. Where do you mount the gopro on your bike and what camera settings are you using?
@@niksn022 My Gopro is mounted on the left mirror. Settings for the camera are 4k/ 25 fps, other settings standard.

€499 gets you a sea which is only comfortable for 2hrs. Guess this is not going to be a comfortable adventure…
hey, do the mirrors get in the way when you stand up?
no, not with me.
I was considering buying these for my Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled, so thanks for the review, I'll definately get the mirrors now.
@@themurrays2266 you can’t go really wrong for this amount. I still have them on my bike and will only replace them if I break them. One thing that might be good to know is that the standard bolts for mounting them will rust quickly. If you treat them with some WD40 or replace them from the beginning you are good to go.
@@robmotorcycletravels Thank you Rob, I appreciate the response, and good to know on the bolts, I'll probably replace these with Stainless ones. Cheers!
It's compatible with the world raid 2024 model?
I don’t think there is a difference in headlight unit for normal Tenere and World Raid model ?
thanks for the review, Rob. Have you tried this seat with a passenger? If so is it noticeably more comfortable for them?
Hi, good question 😀. I never used it with a passenger but I don’t think it will be a lot different. The seat is more comfortable than the standard model on the T7, but also not for rides that will last all day.
How about visibility behind the rider. I'm currently using the small trail double take mirrors and can't see a thing behind me. I can only see what's left or right from me, but not what's behind me. How do these mirrors cope with this?
the same. You will only see left & right 😀

Thanks to @dzieburs: I also changed the oem buckles to "release buckles" (dt. Steckschnallen) of 50 mm. On & off is done in seconds (!), it's tight, it's real great! So it's a real improvement to oem buckles... Regards from T7 rider Guenther, Austria
Thanks, I have done that modification as well and it is a BIG improvement especially when you use a rear rack like I have. You live in a great and beautiful country by the way 😀
@@robmotorcycletravels Thank you so much, Rob! Appreciate your knowhow and solution-finding! Have a great season 2024 bro! Guenther
Hello Rob. Im curious, How tall are you? You mentioned you were tall and thats why you chose the higher seat option. Im 6’4 so im deciding between the 3 options and what would be best for my tenere.
Hi, I’m 2 meter tall, so around 6’7 ft. Thanks for watching.
I ride the Rally Seat from Yamaha and i Can ride 8 hours plus on that. I was however considering the Touratech standard to Get 2 cm lower which hopefully would kick the air over my helmet. I use the puig touring screen but with the rally Seat it still hit the top of my helmet which sucks on long fast rides. Else i love the rally seat
Tubeless tires should have been made an option by yamaha for sure. I'm not bothered by exhaust, this is relatively easy to fix, many options on market
Hi, thanks for your comment. Yamaha should have mounted the exhaust with just 2 bolts on the frame just like the new BMW F900 GS for example. Or same construction like the Desert X, where the passenger step will take the first hit when you drop the bike. I don’t know of any other manufacturer who mounted it directly to the subframe. It just doesn’t make sense how Yamaha did this on the T7. I hope there will be a new T7 or T9 in the future where they will change these little things to make the bike even better. Still love my T7 after more than 2 years of ownership, can’t think of any other bike that would fit me better.
@@robmotorcycletravels yes, this makes sense i agree. I'm still waiting for my T7 to come. And now hesitating between high exhaust which would eliminate this problem at all, or standard position because I like the looks of it better. This is definitely a flaw in the design along with shaky dashboard and headlight and soft rear brake. So t7 is not flawless by any means, but all this is fixable.
@@678wait The dashboard is not that shaky I think but can be easy solved with an aftermarket part for around 20-30 euro. However, it could be manufactured on purpose like this by Yamaha so the dashboard can move along during offroad riding and won’t damage. Try it first I would say, I don’t see it really as a problem. The brakes on offroad orientated bikes are softer than on road bikes, that is correct. You will get used to that after some time riding the bike. For the exhaust you could buy a high exhaust, but you also have to change turn signals. It’s a good solution, but I agree with you that it looks better with the normal exhaust on the side. I put my soft bags on the side and stuff them with some clothes when I go out for offroad trips, that has worked well so far. You could also mount a pannier rack, SW motech has a detachable one, and than that will take the hit when you drop the bike.
@@robmotorcycletravels thanks for the advise. I will check before how it is before installing the bracket. I bought aluminum racks for soft luggage, they are very light and compact, look good on bike compared to regular luggage racks
Do the mirrros have less view than stock as they are flat? Is the field of view change even a noticeable issue?
Hi again, the mirrors are a little bit smaller then the original mirrors the T7 comes with, but that is not a noticeable difference. you can install them in any position you like and find the best way they work for you. One of the big advantages is that you will not break them when you drop your bike.
I notice you have the wrs short screen, extended winglets and the bar mirrors. How have these mods helped with wind buffering in your experience?
Hi, I’m 2 meter tall (6,7 ft) so wind and wind noise is something I have accepeted and I can live with it. It’s just wind, I don’t experience wind buffeting. I did not notice a real difference with the lower screen vs the standard screen, I have the wind full in my face with both screens. It all depends on how tall you are I think, a friend of mine has a T7 as well and installed the Puig higher screen and he has no wind issues at all. (He is 1.75.meter tall (5,9 ft)
Great video .. thank you for sharing that ! June is clearly THE month to get to Norway 😀
Thanks. This was end of July and first week of August….and we had lots of rain 😀
Hello, great movie and full of inspiration. I am glad to see there's a ferry in Eemshaven as I thought I had to go all the way to Hirtshals to go to Norway. I've got 2 questions (and sorry if I missed the info in the video): How much kilometers you rode and how long was the trip ?
Hi, thanks for watching. I’m sorry to dissapoint you, but the ferry from Norway (from NL) went bankrupt last year…so you still have to go to DK I think. Our trip was almost 2 weeks and we did drive around 1.500 km I think. Not so much as I was still recovering from a broken collar bone 2 months earlier.
Hello, the miror are convex or flat? Do you still like them? Good quality?
Hi, the mirrors are flat. I have them on my bike since september 2023 and no problems so far. The only negative thing I cam think of is that the screws needed to mount on your handlebar get rust on it very quickly. If you replace these, the problem is solved easily. I still like and use these mirrors on my bike, I would buy them again if I would break them. For the money, it is an absolute bargain in my opinion.
@@robmotorcycletravels thank a lot for your feedback!! Best regards
Nice trip! Whats the name of the campsite at 4:30 ?
It is not a campsite, it was behind the garage were we were waiting for the motorcycle to be repaired 😀
the f***en campers are nerve wracking...
been lucky with the weather....
that is how it looks on youtube…in fact 50% of this trip was with rain coming down for 24 hours a day and even 4 days on a row…I just did not film during these days, as the only thing you would see is raindrops on the screen.
what an amazing looking bike, wish u the best brother enjoy it to the fullest
Thank you !
Mirrors look great...I have a similar set up on my T7. The view from the mirrors is excellent too and aesthetically it is much better. Cheers, Steve
Fully agree with you, they look way better than the standard mirrors and they work fine. If I break them one day, I would buy the same ones again.
@@robmotorcycletravelsglad to hear the good words. i was on the fence about them but i hate the stock ones.
@@pastrie42 Thanks, I still have them on my bike and would buy them again if ever needed
Hello Rob. Thanks for this review. I have purchased the bag but have no clue how to fix the open straps without loops on the front. If you or someone care to explain? Would be great. Thanks in advance.
Hello there, I understand your problem as I had the same issue. But the solution is very simple, you have to fold the open end a little bit back and stitch it to each other. Then you create a loop and it is easy to mount it on the T7..or any other bike. It is the same way as the rockstraps are constructed. If it would help you I can send you a picture tomorrow. Thx, Robbert
@@robmotorcycletravels Thanks for your quick reply. Very helpful. Yeah, that's what I finally concluded. Just fold them back and stitch them into loops like the straps at the rear. Cheers!

Looks fantastic! We're hopefully going next year. Can you share you route please?
You should definitely go there if you can, it’s an amazing country. I can’t share our route with you unfortunately…as we had no route planned. We just drove up north from Kristiansand where we left the ferry. However I can advise you to drive to the mountain area around Geiranger and Jothunheimen. And there are many national parks as well and they will give you a fantastic ride through the mountains. You can’t go wrong in Norway really, it is nice everywhere. Thanks for watching.
@@robmotorcycletravels Thank you! I looked through your comments on other threads and saw it was not planned. I'm doing it on a Z1000 so not all the routes will be doable! We're getting the ferry to Oslo and will plan our route from there. Thank you
I put 50mm plastic side release buckles to center starps so bags can be installed or taken off in a few moments and lenght remains the same.
thanks for your reply, sounds like an interesting option. Easy to install these side release buckles ?
@@robmotorcycletravels much easier than joining center straps. Just put buckles on both strap ends and it is done. But look for buckles which do not require a closed loop on strap so You can adjust both sides. No sewing or cutting.
Very helpful review. Thanks for putting in the effort to make this. I have the same OEM rear rack and I'm having the same issue with finding saddle bags that you can get on and off easily. I ordered some Enduristan bags and found the center straps wont fit through the buckles without cutting the ends. Thinking of just getting some Oxford bags instead. I doubt they will hold up to much abuse but I'm sure they'll do the job for now.
thanks for watching, let me know when you have found the perfect solution 😀
Thank you, nice place,🥰
it sure is. Thanks for watching!
Great video! What are the laws for aftermarket exhausts in Norway? Do motorcyclists get pulled over a lot in Norway?
Thanks, I’m not from Norway, so I don’t know. But my exhaust is legal and hardly didn’t see police.
Thanks for putting this review up. I have the same bike and rack as you so will face the same issue as you do getting them on and off, but at least I know this before i buy them!
thanks for your comment. Let me know if you find an easier way to mount then.
Thank you for your beautiful video.
thanks for your beautiful comment 😀
They are certainly aware of the exhaust mounting, however it is obvious to me that the way it is mounted is part of the core design / iconic shape of the bike. This is also why I got the Wings exhaust instead of the high hpcorse. It looks better this way.
Thanks, I guess Yamaha is well aware of the problem. The one thing they could / should have changed ,without changing the design of the bike, is just don’t mount the exhaust hanger fixed to the frame. The wings looks quite nice on the T7 😀
I 100% agree with you about the looks of this bike. When I saw the spy photos in 2016 I said that’s the best looking production rally bike. I am going to have that someday and I do.
Thanks for watching. and I wish you already a lot of fun with your future T7 😀
