I love your setup man ! I wanna do something similar . I wanna make a bump stop So I dont have to mark or measure cuts , slid to end and cut at 16". Then goanna put my electric splitter right below it
Pretty neat ! Thank you for sharing. I wonder if you stood on a small platform, 12" - 16" tall when doing the cutting if that might make it a little more ergonomic for your arm ?
I have noticed that a lot of these box splitter types produce a lot of scrap, like yours I counted seven times you the top of the breach and a few around the sides. That amount of wood adds up to wood in the stove. Just working If I’m only one notice it?
Seems like you could speed up the splitting by only turning the block until it was narrow enough to fill the splitting space then let it split full passes taking less pushes to split the whole thing!
hi there nice to see someone smart and letting sticks go into a bucket rather then the ground so you wont have to pick them up later . sense you have a loader john
Nice , but can the saw kick back and cut you doing that single handed approach ? , and you seem to be standing a tad low , but yeah Im currently working on a similar project good to see someone successfully doing what Ive planed .
Hi Colin. I've never had a kick back problem. The tip of the bar doesn't ever get into log. The height works for me. Saves my aching back from bending. Good luck with your build!
Awesome set up man this is the best set up I’ve seen on TH-cam short of buying a 40,000 dollar firewood processor. Thanks for sharing this awesome set up!!
Ive seen a vid today with same style of splitter which has an auto push back on it which drags the log back automatically so no manual handling it just has arms that wrap around the top of the log Just a thought
Nice bit of kit ... but you are having to do way too much work heaving that log about to split it. You are going to be completely done in no time! Does the machine not have a way of retracting the log as it splits it? The Eastonmade is a much better bit of kit!
Most times I wish I had chosen a Powersplit. I can still see getting one someday I recently purchased a Processor which is awesome, but even still I keep seeing the benefits of a Powersplit.
Hello Bob. The Timerberwolf TW-7 came with the box wedge. It is bolted to the frame can be replaced with vertical single wedge. Optional 4-way and 6-way wedges can slide onto the vertical wedge. Check some of my other videos to see those wedge set-ups. Timberwolf discontinued this splitter a few years ago. The new owners of Timberwolf have a much improved box wedge splitter call called the Alpha.
Nice job Jeff, i am building one also ;) Eliminates the back-breaking bending, you should make a jig t the end where the saw is to your length, it will eliminate the chalk and measuring tape, anyway on to building mine ;)
nice to see someone using oak to video while splitting,, always see people splitting soft wood and saying " see how good my splitter is",,, heck any splitter can do birch,, fir or maple,, but oak and hickory is the real test
WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Venda no Brasil???? Onde se compra???
Nice setup.
What I had in mind for myself with the manual roller conveyor and chainsaw set up 👍
Well done sir 🍺.
Great setup 👍🇦🇺🍻
I love this little beasty
Did you make that box wedge yourself? If you did, How much would you charge to make me one? If not. Where did you get it made?
So to add bar oil do you need to disconnect the saw?

Very nice splitter.and get's the job done quickly. Two thumbs up.
Que potencia tiene el cilindro
Какое усилие дает насос ?
FINALLY! Someone that knows how to use a box wedge… Most others let the log drop, it’s too wide, the machine struggles, side pieces turn to mush.

Andrew Eastonmade Chris wolf Can anyone build this concept ? ( Hydraulic power) Mobile and affordable simplicity is key!

oh that thing is slow!
Looks very good. Consider to rework/lower your hinge so you can handle the saw more ergonomically. Simple solution but works extremely well!
I should have one of those.
hi again again real nice no bending over john

Who makes the splitter?
Hi Timothy. Timberwolf made it when they were in Vermont under old owners. The new owners of Timberwolf have a different version of the box wedge.
Awesome set up man this is the best set up I’ve seen on TH-cam short of buying a 40,000 dollar firewood processor. Thanks for sharing this awesome set up!!
Thanks Bram. Guess what? Two years ago I bought a $40,000 processor!
Ingenious idea... all you need is a stopper and a spring loaded clamp to hold the log... love it though
A great argument in favor of a return bar.
Very good, but I have better th-cam.com/video/HR_Qgs9IA0o/w-d-xo.html. )))

Awesome machine!
With a power split that log would of been split in less than 3 minutes

👍
I like the box wedge splitters , they make nice uniform splits and they make kindling at the same time.
Wood is no good for the mill?? Jeez.
Yard tree with metal.
Do you have a website for it
right on the previous post. get that hook on the ram so it pulls the log back till your done then flip the tail hook up like a fighter jet, jack
Hey, Jeff, did you build that Box Wedge or is it an Option wedge?

Окей
Good design but painfully slow
Perfect, just getting into the business. A lot of work but in shape. Nice setup
I believe a good log splitting machine has to be smarter than the log. This one ain't.
Trolls like you never rest.
Great idea saves your back
Super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man that things can put through some wood. Thanks for subscribing. I liked your channel so I subbed back. Keep them coming.

Oak and hickory split far more easily than many "lesser" woods, pal.
Scott Russell you should try splitting hackberry that kind is heavey as all get out an hard to split.
Yea, some fir is easy but old growth full of knot ain't. some maple is easy but not when it's 40" across and 24" long.
I have had some pecan give my splitter a workout, but it sure burns hot and long time
Looks to do the job! It would be better if there was a way for the log the retract with the ram.
There is....wolf ridge
