@DejectedSlime - Hi. Quick question. Is it possible to free-roam in this map/level as the other characters such as Von Lycaon?
If you're referring to the city, then I think you're only able to free roam with one of the two main characters you pick at start. The other characters are only controllable when you're acting as their proxy in the Hollow World. Otherwise they have their own lives and sometimes appear in the city for you to talk to and find out what they're doing at a specific point in the story. But I could put in some feedback in one of the questionnaires they send out that'd you'd like to use your favorite characters for real world travel. Essentially, you keep your identity secret and live your daily life as your chosen character by running the Anime Shop and going to store / eating at restaurants for proxy buffs. There is an actual mechanic to suggest videos to customers for "real-world" (In-game world) money as well.
The first story mission is where things are starting to get interesting. For once, me being a slime didn't cause a sticky situation.
Trying out some new characters that were granted in the test. I try them all at least once within the next few videos. If you don't see one you're interested in, it will likely appear later on. Also, there is a doggo at the start of the video as a bonus.
I went with the female character because her hair matches my gelatinous color at the time of recording. But now I look like a perv trying to look at the city from different angles. Might as well change my name to Degenerate Slime now.

So we live in and own an Anime Video Rental Shop. I wonder if there are any videos about slimes? Either way, my hone survival instincts are telling me that things are only getting started. Will we heed tutorials, or will we just swing wildly at every enemy that comes out way?
I was getting antsy from just wanting to hack and slash things. Looking back, I really appreciate everything that is here. Especially when I got to the meat of the story. Now I understand while so many Adventurers like to swing their swords wildly.

As a Dejected Slime, I resonate with how you feel. Hopefully they include Android in the next beta / release. I'll be uploading the first raw and unedited hour or two of play in 4k fairly soon. It's processing as we speak.
