1985 Suzuki LT50 Complete Rebuild! Even Gets New Rod on the Crank!
My buddy down the road got this for free from a newer neighbor. I asked to work on it. It didn't really have a lot wrong just exhaust was solid plugged so much that I had to cut it open to get it out, along with rusty gas tank, carb and had some rod play. This is a cool little atv his boys have been riding it for few months now and loves it!

Crees que el cilindro y la tapa de cilindro (armada con sus respectivas piezas) de una kawasaki klx 250 le iran al klr 250?
hey bro, im from argentina and i have some questions for you but i write in spanish. ¿El electroventilador o ventilador del radiador esta funcionando permanentemente? Digamos ¿esta conectado directamente? another question is: ¿Que pasa si agujereo el termostato con una mecha muy fina para que el agua este permanentemente circulando?
What you need is a camera with image stabalization
Thanks!
Although I remember this and I don't know if it would stabalize this it was violently shaking after I thought about it. Unless I get a good one like Nasa uses on th erocket takeoffs lol JK Thanks man appreciate it!
The oil injection systems on these was very reliable. It doesnt just dump it in, it pumps a little at a time. So its not going to bellow smoke
Thanks! Yeah I have noticed that over time now that my sister has drove it that past year or so.
What gear ratio are you running ? What tooth sprocket up front and back ?
Sorry it might be below or on another video I have answered it before and change it from time to time running split sprockets.
Did my 2001 Lesabre years ago, same location in trunk. Brass punch is safer, doesn't create spark if you skid across locking ring. Also pulled pump fuse and started car till it died to relieve gas pressure. Hang on to that thing, cars nowadays are junk.
Thanks for the info always love information! Yes they are getting more rare, when I take it out I have had people yelling at me wanting to buy it lol
you gotta put a stage 4 kit itl easily go 100
Hell yeah!
pulled mine out for Milton. Last run 2017 started on 2nd pull. Leaked fuel pretty bad from carb so I pulled bowl float needle valve cleaned and reinstalled. Still leaked. Changed carb. fired right up no leak then quit. Looked like I was out of fuel. Added more. Would not start. Now it seems like I have no spark now. So random. I guess I will be doing a deep dive into the ignition. Was purchased in 1996. Thanks for the video
No problem great little machines!
I'm sure it won't be too much wrong and you will get it I'm sure!
Where do I put the gear oil I know to put the oil in the front and the gas in the normal spot but what about gear oil ?
@@Seahawks62 Look on right side by back of foot in there you will see aluminum dipstick that goes to the tranny. They are usually low when I check them or empty so if need more help finding let me know. Thanks for watching
Thats in exceptional condition for its age. I have one that was abused and left outside for years. Slowly bringing it back to its original condition.
Yes not a bad score at all! Thats cool man enjoy the journey and the ride! Hate when they are left out though.
Too bad we can’t hear you over the loud music
You can on a computer sorry bud
Plus wasn't giving out vital info just kinda saying what you were seeing, don't worry I dont do it anymore lol or if I do not as loud or parts where voice and noises was taken out is when it plays. Again thanks
I know this is going to be way out there, but @26:02 there are two sensors/plugs over the timing belt to the left of the fill cap. One is a plug and appears to be a temp sensor, but there is a long rectangular connector that connects to a blade. Can anyone tell me what that is for?
Sorry I can't tell which ones them are off hand, and actually only see one my sight is so bad. I'll try to pop the hood and look buddy.
This is so bad ace man I just got a 3203 , finished 2 ct200u-ex for me and wife so I had to find something to put my mind on but you really blew this puppy out the water man beautiful

No I bought it for that and fixed it. Then I gave it to my sister, she still rides it!
What is the noise in the background
Rain on metal roof! Love it!
Mine goes infinty mph
Hell yeah!
I did a new top end on mines now it smokes at start up.. it did have 1 bent or dropped valve when I pulled it apart. I installed kibble white seals and valves…what you think could be causing the smoke
How long has it been running now since you did all that? Did it smoke that whole time?
@@kartguy 2 trips smokes only on start up then goes away
@@bcobrag Did you make sure the valves sealed good before installing like a light test or water test? Thinking maybe a valve is leaking a hair until it heats up and expands then quits or maybe something totally different. Get back to me I'll try to help you best I can buddy

1975 is tx not xs
Says XS right on it and they did make more than one model in 1975
They sold in US 1975-1978 and 1980 in Europe. I can't believe your telling me what it isn't when its written all over the bike on identification tag, on the side of the battery panel.
Thanks though buddy
Couldn't see how you move the tensioner.. :/ :/

@@kartguy ~ Got away with it just being the lower rad hose. 😎 they are not the normal type you just put a wrench on the nut, supposedly you need a 'special tool'. You can message KartGuy on facebook I have a small business page for just that reason. Sorry took me a few days to see this, it automatically holds comments. Thanks!
I didn’t see in the video the timing covers being taken off, when in the process did you do that and how many bolts did you have to remove?
From 3:15 to 4:30 thats what I was doing I know it didn't show much, but there are a few sorry don't know exact number been 4 years since I did mine. Still running strong! It is a pain to get out so just be patient and work it out slowly buddy, sorry I can't be more help.
Right on, thanks man. So when you replaced your water pump was it leaking badly? Also. Was there a manual you used that you recommend? Greatly appreciate all your input
When I got the car the guy had the manual that ford shops had I have these three huige books one for the body, one for electronics and one for the engine. They are unlike any others I've seen but I did'nt use them unless needed torque specs. Growing up my mom had a base probe new in 93 and my dad got a new 93 GT so I already knew how to do timing belts just been a while. No the water pump was fine but since its behind the timing belt like on a few cars they suggest to change it when you do the belt.
You, by far, make the best auto mechanic videos out there!
Wow! Thanks man!
Any transmission cover, where did you manage to find it? And what year is your trail boss?
Amazon has them for about $30-$40 buddy and this one is a customers and its a 1996 I'm pretty sure.
A sorry st a 250..I had looked badly..me too entk it's a wonderful shame I'm not that color.. very good machine that the parts which are a little harder found new
Yeah they are fun quads for sure this one wasn't too bad.
Your trail boss...are you 4x2 or 4x4 and how many cc? Because I am one and last to send the frame of a scrap But I kept several pieces especially related to the 4x4.2-3 plate kit and 3 Engines: 2 2-stroke oil pumps. The transmission brake is 3 but 2 are jamé and the rebuilt kit is discontinued..because there is no transmission brake = the speeds are not changeable
Yeah just 2x4 buddy
What welder is that
Titanium 125 amp from Harbor Freight, I have 3 of them. I got them when on sale and figured one would have quit by now as much as I use them. Still going strong and 2 in the box for backup. I probably ran 50 spools of wire through this machine and never any gas to help! Great welder!

We need to get polaris to acknowledge my man is a fuckin polaris Master mechanic 🤌💯💯
Hell yeah thanks man! For real I've done more Polaris than anything lol Its coming back for tires, speedo and lots more soon as parts are in got most of them. Still good for you to bring yours too this weekend! Thanks brother!
He had it at the toy store and they gave it back charging him almost $1000 and it quit less than mile down the road. When I open the carb it looked like biggest half ass clean because they coulddn't get the float out. I stuck with it for 30 minutes and finally got the pin out and got the nastyness out of that sucker! He never got to ride the thing really till brought it to me after owning it a couple years.
how big are the tires?
I'm sorry I don't remember but should be in the comments people have asked before buddy. Sorry
How was the quad while you had it? How long did you keep it? What made you want to sell it?
It was brother-in-laws quad but it ran good once we got it going and I have tons of quads so I gave him one with plastics and got a Mojave that I fixed up for this one, now the Mojave is fixed and gone too. I had a video on the Mojave as well.
Dude, put back the original handle bars, mirrors, and seat back on.
