Can you use led light as an indicator light

I have the same setup but it keeps stalling out! I have it to 5lbs of fuel pressure as it should and my truck is a 88 s10 4.3l

I do not understand when you say the otherside of the bulb runs to the ignition,..like where on the ignition switch? There are numerous terminals. Pardon my ignorance.

How do you wire in the bulb or diode? "L" wire goes to one wire of the bulb, where does it go from the bulb??

Did you remove the choke pull off diaphram and linkage from the back of the carburetor ??

Not recommended for teflon tape on any temp senders it can cause a reduction in power source basically a bad contact and cause readings to be off .

I was wondering if the 1960's style ballast resistor from dodge or gm would work, thank you for that, I'm going serpentine with my 1966 buick gs. And I have a parts truck 1997 suburban, so thank you for letting me know that i do not have to buy the ls style delpi alternator. when the suburban is still kinda new. The suburban I got for free but it has a big hole in the side of the engine. So the accessories still work just fine, just not the engine.

does the big cable on the back of the alternator go to positive on battery? dont seem to do anything on negavive.

I had to Teflon mine,mine was leaking cause Install it with out teflon.....were did you ground n were did you get power from.?

Hey man you don't happen to have the part number off that GM alternator you used do you? I know there are a few variations of it, looking to swap a 318 from my late fathers wrecked '83 Dodge to a later 91 that came with EFI, so I'm going HEI and GM alternator to just dodge all the different wiring. (pun intended)

About to do the same. Just bought a 91 s10. I've changed roughly 400 in sensors to no avail. Still bogged down when put in gear. So far there was no vac leaks, oil pressure seemed decent. Cranked EVERY time when cold and drove about perfect cold, but when it got running temp, cut out when put in gear. Had to feather the friggin gas to keep running. Not a comfortable feeling. Going to put a Holley 2 barrel on there hoping this'll make this run the way it should.

Thank you but I have a 1997 ford ranger XLT and I watch so many videos and not one show where the temperature gauge sender is, do you know where it is or I will put a gauge in like you did but I still don't know where the end goes on the engine?

Just ppl know that is a throttle valve cable, NOT a kickdown cable, it must be adjusted right or you will blow the trans.

Thanks, had mine hooked up just like yours. could not get it to energize, was working when I first installed but after dash work stopped working. Found out that you can't use LED lights for the alternator since there is not enough resistance to energize the field.

Wanted to see the wiring part, I bought a cucv and reach the temp guage part, you know it's totally mechanical. The brittle line is broken and I dont see where it was even connected. I see a bong at the fan clutch housing, based off where I see you screw in the sensor, I assume its there it should screw in. That red and white wire on your guage, what are they connected to.
