Yes, I was one of those guys that enjoyed The Carpenters music back then, but I was quiet about it. Richard specifically arranged the music to spotlight Karen’s beautiful vocals. I remember hearing about her death on February 04, 1983. I was at work in El Segundo, California. It was a shocker, and that’s when anorexia became a known medical condition. Her death opened the door to the acknowledgment of that condition. By her death, many individuals in a sense were saved from death. She is my number one female vocalist of all time. When she performed… it was believable what she was singing about. Karen Ann Carpenter March 02, 1950 to February 04, 1983. ❤

I grew up listening to Carpenters. Karen's voice, Richard's musical arrangements, the harmonies...just amazing. This video is great.

Thanx reactors, our Stan is one of a kind. He's the man with such a fantastic voice, he's been touched by god. A survivor of cancer, his entire stomach was removed a genetic tumor that took the life of members of his family and yet can still sing like that. I hope he makes the big time in America. Kenny and Lionel sung Lady together a few times but in 2012 at the ACM concert they were absolutely awesome together. Kenny's story of how they wrote it was hilarious and the connection they showed on stage was beautiful to witness. We need more musicians like these two! Great reaction montage Mr Gosling. Much appreciated.
