Thinking about our idiotic and deluded fools governing in Australia. Spoiled pussies they are loaded with natural resources having no intelligence and character to use it but wasting it away. Imagine a wise man with true heart and love for the country and her people like Mr Lee!!!! He would turn Australia to be a paradise and an undisputed envy of the world in every way. God bless the Lee family and God bless the heroic, hardworking people of Singapore. You are truly deserving to survive this crazy world and shining the light to the few remaining decent people who are still interested and value common sense, wisdom, diligence and honor as you are.
A true Leader.
You cease to make that effort you cease to be like this..... Tribute sir
LKY during his lifetime was truly a man with courtesy and exemplary kindness to all races. My father who used to work with PUB had various chances to repair utilities in Oxley villa and shared with me how nice LKY was to him and his work mate. Even Late President Devan Nair (held umbrella for workers to his home doorstep during rainy days) and Dr. Toh Chin Chye were extremely nice human beings. So as we disagree to some PAP policies, we must remember their good characters.
good chair....good glass of water.good table.apple green colour i like.......
Being in poverty is generally a motivation to work harder and to improve. But what happens if the people that live in poverty have no intentions on improving because they never understood that life could be better?.
Lee Kwan Yew, Thank you. We miss you. You are our inspiration.
great thoughts. especially selection of ministers
He is fully aware of one of the core elements that constructs the prosperity of Singapore (different from New Zealand he mentioned) is hardworking spirit of new arriving citizens who are eager to get out from poverty.
Thank You for the advice
God Bless You and RIP...a really great man
I love you, LKY.
I have to disagree with what he says. True what he did in the 60s, 70s, 80s is necessary. You have no time to relax when you are poor. You have no time to reflect on your happiness when you are poor. All you think about is money3 in those days. Now that Singapore is already a rich country, I think the people should be allowed to hold back a bit and enjoying life more. What is the purpose of being a rich country but you have a suicide rate like Japan. What is the purpose of becoming a rich country when the people are not happy. Economic development, should be translated into happiness among its people. I think LKY is a great leader. He did what is necessary at that time, but I dont think it should be applicable today.
nice story..
the one who inspires me so much thank you!
Super Inspirational!
remember
Neither India nor China can become a super power. At a bare minimum India wants to be a Developed Country, that is it. As an Indian and feeling from fellow indians that is what we want it. As far as China is considered they don't have the political set up to become a super power. There is only one country which was, is and will be a Super Power i.e United States of America. The only super power in the world. The Russian, Germany, and Japan came close to it. Yes, U.K was once a super power. But now America is 100 years ahead of other countries, no country has even conceived, tested, implemented and hid the technologies, systems, and ideas and advancements no country on earth has. So forget about super power and all, just focus on giving better living conditions to the citizens our country. Tks Good Luck and Good Day.
he is a god...
What he had done for Singaporean and his contribution to the world in making it a better place to live. We Singaporean are blessed to have him to be our Prime Minister.
lee is the king of sg
cool!!
Lee and his Social Darwinism and eugenics!! AGAIN!!! He never cease to amaze me. HAHA!!! 7:25
he is a real man !! 000
we are to be blamed because we worship much our children tt much... provide everything for them as if they have no brain and limbs to make it fot themselves.. we who destyroy them
I know what he is talking about being a child in the 6os. Roads were flooded so you could not get to the bustop without sticks to show where not to step into the drain. There was no MRT or covered walkways. Now we have nice drainage systems. We worked at two jobs sometimes or did double shifts. There were many changes in the education and social life and we had to absorb the changes and move ahead with it. No personal computers then. Things were done the hard way. Computers changed everything from the 80s onwards. Youth growing up now with opportunities and benefits available should work hard.
Yea we have Rojak and jalok here in Malaysian. Don't take much as long as you're somewhat related to somebody, you're guaranteed a post or place into the govt. not much intellect required, but most of time pure brutality will do thus any other measures are alternative while deeply doubt on the filtering and psychopathology test which usually are not required or general speaking we have no such standard yet.
Love it!
Sg is so bless to have LKY as their founding father
Respect for this man!
great man. r.i.p
He's totally right that many youths in Singapore don't understand what is poverty. My mom told me she had to start cooking and doing housework from the age of 5, and give up education at 12 due to poverty. So we really have such a good life now as compared to people from those days, so we should count our blessings and not take anything for granted.
LKY, we Singapoean will miss you!
Well I do agree with his idea of driving youth's spirit to work hard and give better efforts, but I think motivation does not always have to come from avoiding the state of being poor (by all means, we have to get rid of poverty). Think of Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, etc; they were not born out of poverty. many of successful people are driven more by interests, passions, and cultivating unique talents rather than the ambitions of achieving rich and well-being status. Just my opinions~
What Ah Gong said is right, we Singaporeans should stick together and fight, don't let the FTs outdo and bully us into submission!
what's FT?
This man is really awesome....
The videos here should be made mandatory listening and learning for the present and future generations of Singaporeans. Lee Kuan Yew is the Chu'ke of Singapore!
RESPECT TO MM LKY! RIP ..from Malaysia
How can this Man with his age but still has his intelectual with clearly answer and details with everything asked
LKY is very wise
From the bottom of my heart,, maximum respect for the greatest prime minister in modern history...
true, this generation lack what left behind
this is POLITICAL CORRECT SPEECH to say that Indian would soon become super power. if you say that INDIA would not become superpower what would happen? simple common sense compare current india development and last 5 years.
the blame partly lies on the parents, or the former generations. No one wants their children to suffer. But, when people work hard to achieve a good life and pamper their kids by keeping them safe in all aspects of life they are essentially raising a caged animal that does not know how to live in the wild.
Thank you all for the respect you have for our founding father, Lee Kuan Yew. I am deeply touched by most of the comments here. It's sad to see some Singaporeans hate him and think that he is a dictator. Without enforcing law and education, Singapore wouldn't be as prosperous as today. I hope that one day people will understand his effort and appreciate what he has done for Singapore. I am devastated by the passing of our beloved founding father, I hope he is now reunited with his lovely wife in heaven. He will live in our heart, remembering him as our hero. His achievements will add a colorful chapter in history, his legacy passes on to our younger generations. RIP Sir.. You will never be forgotten.
A visionary leader , I wish we will have leaders like LKY in my beloved country , the Philippines
RIP. Thank you for dedicating your life to making this tiny country a great one. I may not agree with everything you did but you did what you believed what right and today we all have a lovely home and an exceptional country.
