I only have $5 dollars to my name. Watch my videos so I can eat.

Monsters Vs. Aliens is PEAK Dreamworks
I didn't think much about how clever this one is until I recently re-watched it. It's full of great writing and great humor; and though I wish the villain had been better I think that it should be a DreamWorks classic for years to come.

What Makes Zootopia SO GOOD?
มุมมอง 11Kปีที่แล้ว
Until I re-watched Zootopia recently, I never gave it enough credit for it's storytelling, writing, and character building. Jump in with me as I try and put into words why this movie is so dear to so many people. Also, Michael Giacchino is a genius. Change my mind. And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the gro...
How Bad Writing DOOMED the Narnia Franchise
มุมมอง 20Kปีที่แล้ว
A combination of directorial changes, bad acting, and ultimately, poor writing ultimately DOOMED the live-action Narnia series that Disney started in the early 2000s. To say that 'Voyage of the Dawn Treader' was a GOOD movie would be a stretch. I admit, I am awfully fond of the first two though. :) Thanks, Andrew Adamson, keep up the good work, big fella. Make sure to like this video and subscr...
Why Over the Garden Wall is GENIUS Storytelling

Why Over the Garden Wall is GENIUS Storytelling
For sure the queen is the beast manipulating Greg. At least that’s what I had always thought when I first watched it.
So glad i stopped watching this video right after the start to see the show. There really is so many spoilers
Hi, I just met your channel, and its AMAZING. Please keep creating.
Dawn Treader is probably the toughest of the books to pull off as an epic theatrical release since it is a series of anthology incidents instead of a three-act story. People were upset about the added green miss when it came out. I didn't mind it since there needed to be something to cement our interest for the next two hours.
what makes Voyage so disjointed from the first two is that it looks like it was shot with an iPhone
The Unknown reminds me of the Lands Between of Elden Ring, the vibe is just on point and the inhabittants are kinda similar.
I only saw it for the first time a few days ago, and ended up watching it twice in two days; the second time with family who seemed to enjoy it too. I was pleasantly surprised how endearing Judy’s character is, and Nick’s sharp tongue and wit. Plus this movie looks exceptionally great, even now. I’m very glad to hear they’re making a sequel slated for later this year which hopefully does well. Great video and analysis! 🥳 (That’s a little goodbye ‘toot-toot’!)
I wish they had more episodes 🥺
The third film didn't stick to the book and that's where it failed to me.
Elija Wood is also in Back to the Future II.
Adelaide suffered from the two major reasons to kill a side character: 1. Her death was more useful to propel the plot forward than develop a 2nd villain. 2. She was ultimately a secondary villain behind the Beast. Her death served the purpose of establishing the Beast as a scarier villain. “If this witch is only a servant of the Beast, imagine how scary they are!” The primary villain and antagonist was always the Beast. The goal was always to uncover the Beast and their secrets. From the first episode, we were trying to figure out who the Beast was. Adelaide just was a victim of the show being only 2 hours. Her death was more useful to the plot.
The series from the 80's was brilliant.
Dawn Treader was my favorite of the books and I can definitely see the challenges in making that into a movie. It's like Prince Caspian's story could be told in half an hour, but Dawn Treader could be it's own 4 hour miniseries. I'd say they absolutely nailed Lion, Witch and Wardrobe and I was glad to see that one done really well.
The first film for me was best, somehow relatable to the source material. When I first watch the first film in my elementary days, it was magical and mysterious.
So...are you making a video on the second season?
Auntie whispers did think of it. but she thiught laurna would not need her if she was cured
wow that McLaughlin Bros fact
Just went back after the first minute of this video to watch it all again
1:02 ‘Into the unknown’ is the smartest sentence I’ve seen today. That’s a rock fact!
Just watched, and this series is peak story telling, would love to watch it all over again
i think each 'bad guy' Adelaide, Auntie Whispers, The Woodsman, each represent some element of The Beast - The Beast (to me) is a compilation character made of the different things that cause you to forfeit your life to it - The Woodsman is Grief/regret, Adelaide & Auntie Whispers are Greed/possessiveness & being manipulated/controlled by others (especially family/parents), The Queen of Clouds is fantasy/idol dreaming, etc. I don't think any of them are given any more or less time than they should be, because they can each easily swallow your whole life - i think they're going through these specific 'trials' because they're reflections of real life struggles/regrets they (mostly Wirt) have with their real lives. dunno - just my theories. also - fun aside - the 2 coins for the boat are the 2 coins for the ferryman across the river sticks, the ones they put over the eyes of the dead (back in the day) - they managed to make it without the two coins because they're not actually dead just yet.
First off this show is amazing. I personally think it’s a peek into how our physical brain and our ego deal with death and dying. Wirt is on the verge of death, the lantern going out. Our brains release a lot of chemicals dopamine/serotonin/dmt at this point almost as a coping mechanism to help our ego with the concept of the light going out. The wacky imagery and untied plots/characters, tied with internal regrets and faults remind me of dreaming. I think this is the closest we can get to experiencing the process of death or a true ending. We all hop over the garden wall at some point and our ego will do anything to keep the lantern lit but all stories need an end. I think they both died and this is the last glimpse of Wirt’s mind trying to hang on.
0:56 MICHEAL WHO? HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR
I've recently rewatched and i realized that in episode four when Beatrice is speaking with the horse she says: "Ugh, what kind of person talks to a horse?" Hinting that she is human.
Over the garden wall terrified me as a kid
If they ever adapt these again, I think they would work far better as an anthology (with some reoccurring characters of course) than big screen franchise
The big problem, in this as in so many Hollywood adaptations, is: NO RESPECT FOR THE SOURCE MATERIAL. The first movie was great because it stayed fairly to Lewis' story. The second changed/added things to the detriment of the story. In the third, they decided to make their own story and just used bits & pieces of Lewis'. And so they failed, and they deserved to fail.
Wow thats crazy voyage of the dawn treader was very well done and the child actor portraying him was excellent
the thing about the cat in control with all the dead skeletons could be because it is a sign of death and something to do with the fact its believed to see and interact with auras and evil spirits (but thats just a theory)
The episode where wat made a wish in over the garden wall, I always thought the cloud woman was a angel the same one he wished to and the dream was a test to see if he was worthy or is meant to be saved. And when he tried to wish for being free, He couldn't because of beast but he then makes a wish that his older brother should be free and to but him in his place. And maybe that's why the angel was like ( you sure don't feel comfortable doing this, type face). That's the impression I gotten from the show. Didn't name them because keep forgetting their name's even tho I love this show 😅
Hey, you have a nice singing voice!!!!
Great video man!!
ALso did anyone ntice how you still hear the bell in the frog when greg shakes it in the hospital!?!?!
I totally agree with the teory of the queen being the beast, since I made that connection when I heard her say she can take wwurt little brother but would leave wurt behind to perish, i think the little brother excepting that would have perished to, therefore both drown if the little brother hadnt made a selfless decision.
If your looking for other hidden gems Itemlabel is a gold mine!
I have a personal theory about the mansion episode. Mr Endicott and Margueritte both have dementia and they forgot each other. See, they didn't continuously build their mansions until they met each other, but their mansions were always together, because they were always together. They didn't just fall in love the first time they met, they fall in love over and over again every time they meet. It's both heartbreaking and adorable at the same time.
1:45 THE HIGWAY MAN!!!!!!!!
An overlooked detail: the pumpkin--wearing skeletons of the second episode, as well as the black cat, can be seen in the ninth episode as halloween decorations on Wirt's front porch.
Oh the innocence of a child. I love Greg so much. And this video is really good!!!
bruv imagin losing FIVE parents. first her bio mother / father, then the second father vander, then the third father silco, then a little big vander again💀
Never really cared much for this show, but she always made me watch it. I watch it each year now so that I can feel at home
Most of the villains in the show are defeated rather simply. Even the beast. So that’s not exclusive to Adelaide. I assumed it was just take on how simple it was to defeat them as kids. Where adults over thought too much. Like when wirt tells the beast how dumb it was for him to be the torchbearer. Also surprised you didn’t talk about the whole how much was real how much wasn’t.
10:01 that's actually the dog that guards the door not the horse
I think Greg is a bit deeper than is alluded to in this video. Specifically Greg functions as the selfless, optimistic, cheerful foil to Wirt. This is especially evident as Wirt starts to cave to futility and Greg becomes “the leader”. Greg’s dream shows that he was only tethered to this state of purgatory because he wants to stay with Wirt; Greg possessed the ability the mentality to leave but chooses to stay to help his brother. Greg doesn’t need to develop as a character, but in the climax of the show he nearly perishes because of his selflessness towards his brother. This highlights his role in forcing Wirt to take responsibility and learning to care for his brother rather than relegating him as an annoyance.
For some reason nobody talks about how Voyage was shot on some really bad digital cameras which makes it look like cheap TV with soap opera effect. That alone drives me away from that movie so much. Poor writing is a big factor, too
THANK YOU
In the seventh episode, I’m pretty sure auntie whispers always knew she could easily lift the curse, but she didn’t want to for the fear of being left alone again. This show has a lot of that “letting go” theme in it.
Thats why Narnia 1 and 2 were EPIC, it was by Shrek's director! not surprised!
Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie by Fox was aaaasssssssss
you sound like mort from madagascar
The one thing I don't like about the first one is Susan and Peter - mostly Susan. I could rant on and on about Susan. She's always saying to be logical and realistic even when THEY'RE IN NARNIA. "He's a beaver. He shouldn't be saying anything." Ugh, that's so annoying. And like the Professor said, why didn't Susan and Peter just play along? Just believe in her imagination (even though it was real). Those two I think are old enough to know about that stuff. Besides that, I LOVE the first one.
