😮 Wow.. I'm really impressed! When I first started listening, I actually thought, that Ted Neeley, was now old, and his voice was no longer as crisp, and "in tune", as when he was young... But boy, was I wrong! (His voice, just needed to warm up, a bit..) Towards the end of the song, Ted, hits those high notes, with perfect clarity! and it is as though, all the years, just melt away... He became the young, Ted Neeley, again.!! His voice, is still awsome, and emotional.. and He still, has the capacity, to bring me to tears!.❤😢

Love this song just as much today in 2024 as I did when I first heard it as a kid in the 80s. It's such a jam!

I was in a orphanage in '73. Sister Roberta took us older kids to a theater in Joliet, Illinois. We saw Jesus Christ Superstar!! Your portrayal touched my heart so deeply that I asked to be baptized the next time the cardinal came through. Meanwhile, Billy Graham had a revival in town and I begged to go. 5 of us girls went with 2 nuns. I was saved that night!! I found my brother when I was 18. He has the album!! We both know every song by heart!! What a great way to bond with him!! I don't have any recordings right now. But I'm fixing that as soon as I get my next SSI check. THANKYOU for taking this part, for doing such a great job. You have changed so many people's lives by bringing them to the Lord!! 🥰

As beautiful as the first time I heard him! This song isn't just about hitting the high notes; It's beauty is in the doubt, frustration, and fear that Neeley conveys so well. Neeley has brilliantly captured the essence of a man confronting his maker over plans he never signed up for and his ultimate resignation and acceptance to go along with that plan.
