Sir John is the first PM I remember. His ascendancy from working class Brixton to Prime Minister was remarkable. The media was awful to him. He's a decent man, far better than all the crap that has succeeded him in the job since then. Sadly, his insistence on being pro-Europe was always going to split the party and the infighting was constant. With a small majority after the unexpected 1992 victory, he should have left Europe and the ERM well alone. Case in point, the Germans refused to help avoid Black Wednesday, which ultimately doomed the party to the 1997 defeat. Then after that initial wave of euphoria and false patriotism, bLiar and Brown ruined the country with increased mass-immigration, the illegal war in Iraq, the waste of British lives in Afghanistan and the 2008 economic cataclysm, which served to speed up the permanent loss of 'real' jobs to slaves in the far east. Then the Tories got back in and squandered any chance to right the country, with the party imploding once again and the British people still being screwed over. Sadly, both big parties are open-borders globalists, who don't care about British people or improving the economy for regular people. It's all about importing cheap labour and letting bankster scum prop up the country, as real wages continue to stagnate and devalue. FPTP will keep them in place forever, as the country falls with the rest of the West. The small parties have no chance of power, let alone to stop this sleep-walk to the nation's doom.

Two voices each offering their own true opinions. No one is being paid off. No one is bringing politics or causes into it. They are just fans explaining their admiration (or lack thereof) of the craftsmanship they saw compellingly. It's such a simple service that they offer, but, because it is so common for that service to be corrupted or somehow tainted that we still value them now even after they have both died. Who do I watch now? Nerdrotic. If Siskel and Ebert saw the film industry today, they would have been screaming too, just like the folks at Nerdrotic do.

I feel sorry for him. He was/is a good man who made a terrible strategic decision: He followed the motivations and policies of Edward Heath rather than Margaret Thatcher. Heath remains an enigma, a conservative who wanted to manage Britain's welfare state rather than combat it. Fools' gold remains the EU. My goodness. A terrible organization. The EU is the antithesis of any freedom loving nation. The whole concern is a bureaucratic abyss hellbent on destruction by men and women who wear business suits instead of black shirt uniforms.

I'm a Labour party member but John Major is one of the few Conservative PM's that I can truly respect. He is a decent man and was a politician with integrity and a great intellect, something which is sorely lacking from today's politicians.

Tony Blair is a wise person and a shrewd politician. Tony understands people. Many people like myself are too dumb and do not know how to handle people. I simply do not know how to make people comfortable. If I say I cannot defend then I have to say something else to cover for myself. I am too slow and simple to cover for myself, so I tend to say what I think. I cannot say I agree with everything Tony Blair has done. But I can say he has done more good than bad, and that is all I can ask from anyone.

It's just resoundingly stupid to say that Margaret Thatcher was treated roughly in her deposition. Basically her cabinet said they did not have faith in the direction of the country or her ability to get things done. She didn't deserve any special treatment and she fell like many other British leaders have fallen over the years. Look at how England rewarded Winston Churchill. Thank you for winning the war and goodbye. 😊

I don't have much in common with John Major politically or share the same country of birth but I had a childhood full of the kind of surprises like John Major had. Up until the age of 13 I thought that me and my sister were the only kids of my parents and then found out there were three other half brothers and sisters out there and that my mother had been married four times. Also at some point discovered that my father was just my stepfather and a slew of other crazy discoveries.

In case anyone was wondering, Ebert did give Aliens 3.5 out of 4 stars in his print review. He did so because he said the film was indeed a very intense action/sci-fi film as advertised, but he again warned in his written review that the film may be way too intense for some people.

In the UK, once a prime Ministers leave Office, they are no longer Prime Minister or Mr or Mrs Prime minister. Most get hounded by the King or Queen, for example John Major is Sir John. If he had become a Lord he would of been Lord Major.

No wonder the UK is in the state it is in when you look at the comments below. It is made clear in the latter part of the documentary that the Kinnock leadership accommodated itself to Thatcherism and Blair continued that process with even more enthusiasm. Now what we see around us is the result of Thatcherism: the majority of people now struggling to pay rents on properties that they have no long-term tenancy on, no chance of affording a home of your own, a semi-privatised NHS which will only decline further, and shit being pumped into water. At the end of the day, you can rail against Benn all you like, but he was opposed to this ideology and was prescient about what the outcome would be. Be good Tories and adhere to that oft declared Tory principle: take some personal responsibility. If you voted Tory, voted Blair and voted for the Tories since 2010, then it is your fault the country is in the state it is in.
