Hawk chases dove, dove hits window, dove died but where was the dove?
A hawk chasing a dove had a strange part to it.
My wife was in the bedroom on the treadmill and heard a loud bang against the window (shades down).
I went out to check for a dead bird and there were more feathers than I’ve ever seen on the ground from a bird strike, but no bird.
As I was cleaning up, I saw feathers on the patio and there was the dead dove near the sliding door.
Also while cleaning up I saw a hawk fly onto the wall fence and then quickly leave. That made me think maybe a hawk was chasing the dove.
My assumption is when the dove hit the window, the hawk was on it and started removing feathers as what I saw on the ground made sense.
The strange part is how did the dead dove get over to the sliding door. Did the hawk take it there and then fly off when it saw our beagle looking out?
The video shows how this hawk did not want to leave when I was cleaning up and kept watching me and even came close to me. It wanted that dove.
After all cleaned up, I took the dove to the desert behind the wall and put it where a trail camera should see who decided they wanted the dove.
Dove was gone when I looked hours later and stupid trail camera did not record what took the dove.

@@DesertCrittersOfArizona Thanks for the offer. My understanding is each one is made for the specific model. There are little markings on the lens and to my understanding those are set specifically for the camera model. I did my own replacement the first 2 times and each time after I put all the parts back in place I had done something wrong and each camera could no longer focus and so I always send the cameras to Browning. The service has been good and they check the camera for internal problems since the insides were exposed by the hold in the lens. Most every time I was sent a new camera and other times they just replaced the lens for no cost. This camera I posted about I asked and was approved to not have to send the camera to Browning and I could buy are replacement for almost 50% off. The camera was pecked and interior exposed for a week and there were 4 days where there was some rain, so more than likely the camera could not be fixed. Since it is a Recon Force HP4 they don’t seem to have parts but must have inventory of new ones, which is why the other HP4 I sent in a week ago because the heat/uv was creating cracks in the lens could not be repaired due to something wrong internally and thus I could buy a discounted new one. So then I superglued the pinwheel where it didn’t spin and that seemed ok, but still the wind got ahold of it.
