Making Hay While The Sun Shines.
A ritual most summers in New Zealand would have been hay making and still happens today although with modern machinary, here we see a Robey stationary steam engine powering a hay baler, i had a look at the builders plate and gave no date as to when it was built, all it had was presumably a builders number/ Boiler number, a machine such as this would have been towed farm to farm. 16/3/24.

14th February i was priviliged to have had a tour through Refurbished EF 30226, from the casual lineside observer, all one would see is the new paint livery of the locomotives, the difference is inside the cabs and the internals of the locomotive itself.

Train 534 with four DL's on it, 9659, 9728, 9129 and 9302, two were online and two were dead, no doubt a balancing move and the last two could may well be seen on tonights 521 service from Whareroa. not bad for a going away shot. 5/2/24.

This is wonderful footage, thank you for posting it! I just did the 2024 Spiral Express with GVR and DRB 1254, was a magnificent experience through the heart of our North Island. Cheers!
this. train. is. the. tangiwai. but. not. desaster
Let’s see how it does it please
Love the setup i have a turner stationary haypress and really want a frick or baker steam tractor
Interesting baler and nice Video 👍🏼
Would be better with audio explaining the situation......
it does have audio.
@@zanegracie39 But the audio is not aimed at the listerner and does not explain the situation. Newly refurbished electric locos for a railway that would seemingly prefer not to use them. Will they be used I wonder?
If i had a better editing programme, i could dub an audio comment onto it, but i don't unfortunately
Wonder where all those model trains are, used for this ad at 23:00
nice recap
Fantastic video my friend ! Have a nice weekend 🤩🤩👍👍
I hope you've had a good one too Rodrigo 🙂
Very nice video, big like 👍
What is the model of this locomotive, my friend?
I'm glad to see this happening, as Kiwi Rail has been rather pro diesel. Probably too much to hope for, but it would be great to see the wires go all the way from Auckland to Wellington.
I was trying work out if this would have been the last time 1410 came to the Taranaki?
Our Swiss Air Force had over 200 Venoms, flown primarily by militia pilots. In the 1970s they mostly flew low over the landscape, apparently just above the treetops and house roofs and in all weathers for their mission against a ground target! Sometimes one wondered how they managed to fly among the low-lying clouds and hills. Great respect from these pilots!
good video. nice and long train. greetings
What a beautiful train... I had never seen it before. thanks for the video. greetings
I guess this is an ex Swiss Airforce DH-112 right?
Yes, the RNZAF never flew Venoms that i'm aware of, but they flew Vampire Jets.
See the nose. Swiss airforce put a bigger radar in the nose during the 60is. Therfore the nose i a litle bigger. In my childhood I saw many of Vampires, Venoms and Hunter take off and landing. I grow up close the airforce base of Dübendorf.
There was never a radar in the nose of a Venom (besides the night fighter variants which were not flown by the Swiss air force); not even a radar ranging gun sight.
@@zanegracie39 14 Squadron RNZAF flew leased RAF Venoms in Singapore from April 1955 till May 1958. 44 identities were flown during that time with a squadron strength of 16 at any one time.
So beautiful train, congratulations for the video!
This is an ex Swiss airforce DH-112. I saw them many times start and landing in my childhood. Great aircraft!
Genau Heinz!
No sound
Must be at your end, video plays fine and with sound.
Is it a vampire
No, it's a Venom.
It's a Venom. Vampires don't have wingtip tanks. They are very easy to distinguish from the Venom.
I love the gen 1 jets.
I remember these snarling their way through the sky over Wanganui, NZ when I was young. Nice to see one again.
She's a beauty, ZK-OTU/NZ1044 in the RNZAF it used to wear with No 2 Operational Training Unit at RNZAF Ohakea during 1944-45.
The north island main trunk line was completed in 1908. 100 years on from then would be 2008. When was this steam train footage recorded? It sure as shit wasn't 2008 because it doesn't show any of the electrification of the line between Hamilton and Palmerston North. If you look at many of the cars following the train, they look really old from the 1970s.
Well if you had watched the video, you would have found the answers, the turning of the 1st sod was performed at Puniu in 1885, thats when Maori chiefs gave permission for the railway to enter the king country, the excursion in the video is celebrating 100 years later the turning of the first sod, the excursion was run in April 1985, the NIMT opened in November 1908 and it's 100 year anniversary was celebrated in 2008, i suggest @stuboyd1194, that you go do some research stupid boy.
😊

Fantastic video my friend! Greetings from Brasil 🇧🇷
Wow what a cool spot. Well done. I got it at Marton
Although the speed at which the train was going is very impactful, most of the cars are empty. And I don't know if it was on its way to the port to unload the "occupied" cars, and instead load the rest of the empty cars.
Any date and year information 😮
Great video. Best wishes
Thankyou, i'd left my video camera in the car and had to make do with the phone's camera.
If you need NEW BELT for the record player,JAYCAR ELECTRONICS in Auckland stock them.
