    Only provlem is not putting the bracket for strain releif is a code violation in most states. Don't post things and bot do it to code. Your video is dangerous and if your home burns up or the person who trusted you knew what you are doing, home burns, your negligence could cause fire claim to be denied. This also puts you liable for a potential lawsuit. Go buy another clamp or don't do the job

      You mean replace the outlet for a four prong outlet (14-50R maybe) but then change the breaker in the main panel to a 20 amps breaker to protect the washer and still properly grounded and safe. I am not an electrician but I am a huge fan of "grounding things". I believe this setup that I just talked about is not going to be a problem with the "code".

    I hope someone knowledgeable sees this and can help me... I bought an old dryer that originally had a 3 prong cord, the previous owners changed the cord to a 4 prong. I have a 3 prong outlet so I am changing it back to a 3 prong. Apparently they lost the ground tab used for the original 3 prong. What can I use to replace that little metal tab?? Any advice will help. Thank you

      You don’t need that piece as your not using a 4 prong plug anymore. That was for the ground. Older wire houses were not on a closed Ground Loop

    if you ever have to do that again ditch the wood. just use the dolly and tilt it way back till the bottom of the washer is on the lip of the tailgate. that looked like a bit more of a struggle than it needed to be. just my 2 cents.

    This video is so helpful! If the ground wire bracket (brass piece) is not connected/ used, will it cause the dryer not to work?

    • @haroldkahl4610
      @haroldkahl4610 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The dryer would still work without the ground strap connected but this will create a safety hazard. If there is a fault from a hot wire to the chassis of the dryer, the ground strap, if installed, would cause the breaker to trip. Without it you could get shocked.

    I'm a professional mover. 17 years experience. This is how you wrap an expensive couch that cannot get dirty or damaged. If it's just a cheap or old couch, nothing expensive, you dont need the blankets or that much shrinkwrap. Start at the bottom and as you go, PULL TIGHT and go around to the top. I make sure the entire couch is covered in a layer of shrinkwrap so whenever possible, I can put the couch on its side to save space and it's not getting dirty. I do lay a blanket down before I place the couch on its side, just to make sure. If it's raining, I use some extra wrap to make sure the couch cannot get wet. Again, the method of wrapping in this video is only for expensive couches or of course if the customers requests it. BTW, be careful with how much time you spend wrapping. Some customers, if they are paying an hourly rate, will think you're overwrapping to run up the moving hours. Yes, some customers are clockwatchers and get nervous if they think you're taking too long to complete the move. Best way to avoid it is to wrap each item according to its condition and worth and do what's necessary but not overkill. If it's glass, bubblewrap it well, then a blanket, then place it in the truck in a way it cannot get damaged. China cabinets, curios, any large item with glass, there's no such thing as overkill IMHO.

    Awesome job! Can we wrap furniture without pads if the furniture is just going into storage and can’t use rented pads? Of furniture goes in storage do you keep it wrapped or unwrapped?

    • @smartestmover1239
      @smartestmover1239 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can leave most stuff wrapped in storage or at very least use cardboard boxes to protect furniture when stacking in the unit to prevent damage. Never leave leather couches wrapped or fridge and washer. Leather needs to breathe and appliances must be left cracked open to air out.

  • @l.m.richards7103

    How large are the pads?

  • @rickheel
    @rickheel 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Looks good. Always use the light side of the pad if available on all furniture. Fold them light side in, it keeps them clean. The only thing I would add is the bottom dust flaps of the couch should be folded up and secured as this will keep them from getting wrinkled.

    • @smartestmover1239
      @smartestmover1239 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So I typically use the light side to indicate that something is fragile or has glass. You are right about the flaps for these older couches, this one was just a throw away!
