    Lovely acoustics, that fuga and the other in A minor are very challenging in the partitas sonatas for solo violin. I only attempted to play the dance movements in Partita no 3. It takes the pros such as Hilary Hahn years to master that. Janin Jensen the Dutch violinist got so frustrated with her Bach album while recording it, she threw her bow across the studio.

    I have tried busking on my own at the Brighton Pavillion Gardens, it is surprising the response you get from passers by. I stick to my Irish repertoire and sometimes play, Purcell and John Playford. The general public like to hear familiar dance tunes to brighten their day.

    What a wonderful combination and unusual trumpet and violin. Bach would have embraced that, as the baroque trumpet and Baroque violin had a similar range.

    • @yumoroz
      @yumoroz 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      thanks, the combination was dictated by the family ties :) My son plays trumpet, by daughter plays violin so here it is. Although the arrangement existed before, my wife, who knows much more about music than I do, knew about it and suggested our kids to play it. There are also violin-viola arrangements, and I believe in this case trumpet plays the viola part.

    I have only come across this composer once in my singing lesson, an aria called vainement, Je t aime, helas je vais mourir. You have mastered all the range of the violin with spot on intonation, I know how difficult it is to get a good quality note out of those very high notes on the violin and you just do that. High positions on the G string are rich in tone. It is me saying these things as an armchair critic.

    • @yumoroz
      @yumoroz 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      thanks a lot, yes, this is a hard piece, and Jessie struggled with those high positions on G string for a long time. This piece is a little bit too "show off" for my liking, but interestingly, 4th movement of it is very nice, maybe Jessie will play it in the future

    I remember texting your father during lockdown, must be about 3 years ago when you were 12, after my attempt with a backing track of the second movement of the Bach double violin concerto. Gosh what an advance of challenging repertoire. I play the same sort , I did then, maybe simpler. After doing some research on life in the US, I now realise how hard life is there, compared with the UK and Europe, I am very fortunate to live in the UK. When it is your home it is ha d to emigrate. I wish you all the best for your future, main thing really enjoy what you are doing and imerse yourself in the music with like minded people.

Not sure what do you mean about US vs UK&EU, I am happy for everybody who is happy where they are, whether in UK, Europe, Asia, Americas or Africa. Yes, emigration is hard, and I can tell as a person who emigrated twice, but we like it here is the US and would not want to move anywhere else right now. Don't know whether you want to talk about it, and whether this is a good place, but would be curious to know your thoughts, in what ways life in the US is harder than in UK&EU?
