Stories on food, travel, and life in my 30s.
Banitsa: Making Baba's Recipe
Banitsa is a traditional Bulgarian pastry that balances - similar to lasagna - flaky, crispy layers of phyllo dough with a rich, creamy filling. In this video, I make my mother-in-law's banitsa recipe for my son as an after-school snack.
Watch to the end to see if he loves my execution of banitsa as much as his Baba's!
Banitsa is one of the best foods for kids. It's substantive and filling, which makes it perfect for our toddler. He also never complains when it's offered (which is rare these days unless he's served pasta!).
In addition to being great for kids, Banitsa is very versatile. It can be enjoyed for breakfast or really during any meal or snack throughout the day. Banitsa is traditionally served during big holidays and celebrations in Bulgaria.

hihiha nazdrave. Healt and happynes, from Plovdiv :)
Nazdrave! I still need to visit Plovdiv!
I have a good friend from Bulgaria and she is touting the Black Sea coast overall as a great place to visit. She said I should opt for Pomorie, Sozopol and various other cities south of Burgas. But I'm thinking Burgas, and maybe I'll check out those other cities as well.
Bulgarian Food is Amazing . Im From Canada love it there , and No Feminists and Woke Degenerate Culture ! Love Eastern Europa ! Cheers
Да Ви е сладко!
2 views were from me. I had to make sure I gave this a thumbs down.
I'm sorry for whatever is bothering you in life. Hope you find joy and love soon.
It’s kinda silly that using a bag as a man isn’t accepted in America despite basically everyone else doing it. It’s a nonissue for most of gen z (maybe late millennial) but older generations still seem to think it’s gay or something lmao.
That’s definitely the perception I’ve heard from the older generations - very taboo for a man to wear a bag like that. Here’s to challenging the American patriarchy!
I'm a huge IWC fan. Great Video.
Thank you! Surprised more people aren’t huge fans.
What a charming couple.
Cheers! 🥂
Great review, great move by IWC to reduce size to 41 mm, put in the updated "in-house/in-group" movement and increased WR. The only downgrade for me personally was the omission of the soft iron cage, which was a big miss. While it allows IWC to open up the case back to view the movement, I think it is a big compromise for such an iconic "Pilot" watch. This is the reason I went with the older LPP 43 mm. One other thing was the fact that you don't get the all satin finished bracelet anymore, which is still around for the older 3777 reference. Completely agree on the customer service, absolutely top notch stuff, Rolex take note that's how you treat your customers!
Interesting perspective on omitting the soft iron cage - I really like the open case back but appreciate your point. Thanks for giving your take and for watching the video! I agree that Rolex could learn a few things from IWC.
@@bonvivantlifestyle Yes, I say that because of my experience of having managed to magnetize pretty much every mechanical watch I have owned! Ofcourse nothing like being able to see the movement, especially a fantastic one like the one in the 41 chrono with the level of finishing and column wheel and all! Perhaps IWC and the Richmont group will start implementing complete Silicon components since the patents should have expired.
And your oversized bracelet will carry you right through to your Ft. Lauderdale retirement community!
this is the opposite of the "equity" everyone is screaming about
I’m a dude 26 and yes I’m straight I have a coach and mk bag just like that it’s very handy and convenient
Loving the convenience too! Thanks for sharing - maybe a men's fashion trend for 2025?!
WHAT THE FUCK
That is Bellevue wa
You stir as to not bruise it, not to keep from watering down. Gin requires more water than vodka to release botanicals, vodka is shake. To get very cold fast
Literally just bought Tanqueray wondering if it was good gin 😂 Awesomeee
James Bond: Rubbish
So you just poured gin in a cup.
Strain out the ice homie....you opened yourself up for attack with that move lol
Why do you have ice
Straight to jail
That sweater is unique
From Burgas, Bulgaria! 🇧🇬
Bombay sapphire > beefeaters. Roku was really good when I tried a bottle a while back.
Bombay is straight perfume , I love gin but that shits a disgrace imo
Sin
When the FFFFFFFFFFFFUCK does a standard martini have vodka OR ice in the glass?
A good London Dry Gin, Like Costco..
Doesn’t matter where it comes from
My grandpa always said you could tell if a place was respectable if they gave you three olives in your martini.
If this not rage bait idk what it is.
For the love of god, strain out the ice!!!!
Sorry, but you did it wrong bud
Don't shake because of dillution but leave the ice cubes in the martini. Good rage bait.
I think real martini says enough gins a bit redundant
I made the mistake of using a tin foil dish for lasagna once and one thing is for sure: It does not hold temperature as well as a ceramic or Le Creuset dish, hence the extra time you needed. I was inspired to buy the book, though! Thank you for a great shared experience and I am looking forward to other ones in the future!
Great point on the tin! So happy it at least provided a little inspiration. Thank you for watching - more shared experiences coming soon!
Ice in the martini glass is clinically insane
How would you chill a martini?
@ if I’m building in the glass I guess you can do it that way but I always do mine in a shaker. Chill the glass with ice and water and pour it out before serving.
@@bonvivantlifestyleYou stir in a Japanese mixer or mixing glass, and strain.
@@bonvivantlifestyleyou literally put ice in the shaker and pour the martini cold. you don’t need to chill that glass and even if u wanted to you can freeze your martini glasses lol. not use ice from the fridge. and lastly. adding vodka doesn’t mean it’s not a martini. there’s a reason why there’s like hundreds of different kinds
Put ice in the glass with water and set it on the bar while you build the drink. Then throw out the ice water and you’ll have a nice chilled glass!
Lovely tribute to your dad!
Thank you 🙏
Nope
Yup 🍸😘
How do you recommend getting around with a two toddlers and a stroller? What type of transportation is best? Taxi? Subway?
Two toddlers and a stroller? Taxi or uber. Subway would be too stressful and not all have elevators (ones that do are not always clean). No taxi or uber driver is going to care if you don’t have car seats, but you have to be comfortable with that risk. We’ve never had an issue and while it’s more expensive, it’s by far the most efficient and stress free way to navigate the city with kids.
Beautiful country people so nice 🎉
Amazing watch really , i bought yesterday
Congratulations! Enjoy!
I’m from Ireland and typically cringe at this carry on… but this looks really good! The pub seems great, the museum is something I would love to see… the church can do one to be honest though, we’ve heard they’ve a hand in excluding queer people from Patrick’s Day celebrations and that’s just not what we’re about here in Ireland - social exclusion is a colonial mechanism and we’ve put really hard work into getting rid of that here. Hoping that more of our Irish cousins to the same, this island collectively shudders when the likes of Mitch McConnell comes out with some bigotry or the likes of Joe Biden sends tonnes of weapons or billions of dollars to fuel genocide.
The scones are the real deal too 👌🏼
She's so beautiful and sweet. What a lovely mother. I miss my mom every single day. Never miss a moment with her.
In my opinion, you started off at the top. Great brand all the reasons you stated and the big pilots are my favorite in all the different variations. Enjoy and have a merry Xmas
Cheers and thank you. Merry Christmas!
Loved that and totally agree on all you mentioned. Happy new year from Scotland🏴
Dick's just melts in your mouth. Mmmm.
Dear Johnny, what a beautifull watch. Did you also consider the Blue Dial? I'm hesitating between the blue and the black. What convinced you to buy the black one?
I did consider blue! Ultimately went with black because I thought it was more versatile, but blue is fairly versatile too. As my first watch, I’ve been wearing it regularly with all outfits and black matches best in my view, but very much a personal preference. Still loving the watch! Good luck on your decision - you really can’t go wrong.
@@bonvivantlifestyle Thank you for reaction! Good te hear that you are still loving the watch. I saw the black one in real last weekend. Love it! Blue is nice, but I think the black one is more refering to the fact that is a Pilot Watch.
excellet city! I will visit with 100% intention!
I love it too 🇧🇬
😘🤌
"The venison had no taste of rabbit". Why would it?
You got me there! No idea why I said that. Obviously deer! 🦌
as someone who lives in seattle this has got to be rage bait lmao
Adorable video. Me and wife are staying in April and really looking forward to it 😊
Thanks for watching! I’m confident you’ll both enjoy!
