i see alot of banter back and forth about welling, routh and reeve. lemme settle somethings. brandon routh didn't work out a single day for the role, they found hime working as a bartender for a gay bar. the better looking you are, the better tips you get. end of story. and he looks little to nothing like christopher reeve. and his acting was poor at best, they should have gave him lessons before shooting welling looks nothing like reeves at all as anyone who saw the show could see. continue>

true, but that doesnt make it a big hit, if you look at movies like spiderman or dark knight, the made 600million profit for a superhero movie infact the new spiderman movie-made 500 million profit..and the old spiderman triligies are still fresh in peoples mind so for the studio perspective it was a flop..it should atleast make 400million profit not 200 million Im pretty sure the new superman movie (man of steel) will probably make atleast 500milion profit..plus the timing is right

I never said he wasn't afraid of heights back in the second season, I'm saying he isn't now. Big difference. Referring to some small comment that he made in the second season when he wouldn't so much a jump from one building to another is very different from actually seeing him speak to Jor-El in the Fortress about how he wants to embrace his Kryptonian heritage and fly and leaping off stuff like the watchtower in THE NINTH SEASON. I don't care how big a fan you are, you're still stupid.

Umm. No he isn't. Just in Season eight alone, we've had more super jumps than any other season alone. He has jumped up and down buildings, jumped out of an airplane high up into the air, jumped so high when he fought Doomsday that he practically went out of the atmosphere... And even this season, 9, within the first episode we saw him take a nosedive leap off the damn Statue of Liberty. How in the hell is he scared of heights? Seriously, what show are you watching?

Yeah. I'd like to see a good Superman movie but today it seems it won't so successful unless they really modernize alot of things and shape it all to something better. It's pretty much laughed at today, the concept alone of superman is like a parody nowadays alot. Hope the next one is really good

i agree wit u, with some of smallville episodes, but when they make the movie with the smallville cast wit tom, micheal, erica & aron they can change the story a little for the big screen, improve the effects, create a new set like the daily planet, luthor masion can be diferent as well, if they want to make clark more geeky if they want, but im sure want the smallville cast proid

if it would follow from the smallville period it wouldn't be called Superman Returns then :P, cuz it's not a story from the beginning. I really doubt it would become bigger, only for the smalville fans, but I see very little of the superman spirit in Smallville, it just looks so playful, fake, plast and not very serious. Not defending Routh, I like him better though, but they could do better finding a more suitable Superman. Or just make Routh improve his performance

superman returns didnt do too well at the box-office it barely recovered its budget, sure he critics loved it in a way but if they used the smallville cast, especially tom as superman and michael as lex luther(the best lex luthor goin) then it would have become a bigger hit, and the should have followed it from smallville period, the filmwould have become a big hit

from all I have seen, Brandon is bigger. He worked out better and was in better shape. But the point was, Reeve doesn't look anything like Welling. Brandon looks like Reeve, in facial features.
