Raised Edge Heart Granny Square - Crochet Tutorial
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Heart’s Halo granny square is a beautiful way to add a touch of love to your crochet projects. This granny square features a charming heart motif at the center, outlined with a raised contrasting color for a stunning 3D effect.
With its blend of single, half-double, double, and treble crochet stitches, this pattern is perfect for advanced beginners looking to challenge their skills and explore new techniques. The raised outline is created by working in the back stitch of the half-double crochet, giving the heart a unique halo-like frame.

Love this pattern! Thank you for sharing ❤
Glad you like it! Thank you for watching 🙂
I love this pattern the best out of all heart squares I’ve see. Thanks for sharing 😊
Glad you like it! ☺️
Can you give me a estimate how many will I will use for the four granny squares in the middle of the blanket
I would guess 100-120g of a 4 weight yarn. The middle part used approximately one ball of each color of the Lion Brand Jeans yarn.
@craftinginthenight Thank you so much I appreciate your kindness. I do the cooper blanket for an old age home in Cape Town very poor eara. Mostly coloured people. My daughter brother in law live there. He is a white person but no money. All people are in wheelchairs. This blanket is a winner
Love this! It's exactly what I need. I can't decide which is my favorite, they're all such great approaches! 🎉
Awe thanks!!
Hi your blankets are so gorgeous. I also crochet for charity.so much work you have done.i crochet mostly baby stuff and baby blankets for a children's hospital.thanks so much for sharing your lovely work.💖💖💖
Beautiful
I crochet for Project Linus also. I needed some ideas. Your blankets are beautiful! 3:12
Thank you 🙏
OMg 💜💜💜 so excited about these, especially the boggy creek challenge - thank u🎉🎉🎉
You are welcome 🤗
The Boggy Creek challenge was amazing! I sent 16 blankets before I had to switch to my scarves/hats donations and baby blankets for a couple of local charities. In between I do throws and larger blankets to break up the monotony. When I get a stack of them, I find a charity to send them to. I am focusing more on locals now because postage has gotten so high! I like all the challenges. I think they only one I haven't done something similar to is the Snake Challenge. I like working things up quickly and find textures slow me down, So yeah, that's a good one for me. Thanks for sharing!!
That’s fantastic! I’m glad you like the challenges. I'm looking forward to doing the Gigabyte blanket this year. I haven't done Tunisian since I was a kid and I think that would be an excellent project for all of my neons and bright colored scraps.
I made one blanket using your Granny Stripe pattern. It was easy and fun to make. I’m now on my 2nd one. Do you know if Nancy, the Boggy Creek contact, will accept blankets whenever we send them to her? ❤-Brenda
That's great! I'm glad you liked the pattern. I don't know for sure about Nancy, you would have to ask her.
What cute idea. I like the skeins and boggy creek challenge.
What a fantastic idea - lots of different challenges! You are very creative. I'm not sure (yet) which challenge I will have a go at. I already have several WIPs - can I do any more? 🤔 (probably!)
Wipes are definitely on my list this year too. I'm planning a video to show them all but there's a lot!!
I used the pattern on the label for the Caron Cake.
That's great! I haven't tried a pattern off the label yet. I should add that to my list!
I already have another one started, I’m not that far on it, so I’m going to do this afghan!
That's cool. This really is fun and I'm planning on doing another one soon.
I also like how you describe each stitch and rows!
Thank you!
I made quite a few c2c afghans years ago! I only done one in strips and stitched each strip separately, after I got it done! I couldn’t wait to get it all done. I was ready to go to something else
Great tutorial , thank you
You are welcome!
It’s so hard to resist buying all that beautiful yarn
So hard. Sometimes I even put it in my cart and walk around with it for a bit and then put some back.
I am currently working through my yarn stash. I have been making blanket with my yarn scraps
I usually take sections at a time to organize so it’s no so overwhelming
That's what I've been doing this year. I have four separate yarn / project storage areas so I've been tackling them one at a time.
Keep labels with yarn until it’s used up, then throw it away.
Thankyou, I started C2C column and couldn't get it right. Thank you. xxx
You are very welcome!!
So glad your channel and this pattern popped up in my TH-cam recommendations! I had some yarn that needed a project and this is perfect!
You are so welcome! It's always great to be discovered!
Love this pattern - it looks like a wonderful scrap buster as well as a good one for the Boggy Creek project! ❤-Brenda
Thanks Brenda. It really is fun and super quick.
love this way of doing charity blankets. I started with a 4,5hook and it just feels to stiff my next one I will use a 5 hook. Thank you I am going to try your granny square blanket to than you it is so easy 🎉🎉🎉❤
Thank you for showing how to check withone is the corner whole
You are very welcome. Glad that tip was helpful!! ☺️
This is the pattern I need for doing lapghans for the nursing home. Thanks so much!
You are very welcome! This is a perfect quick and easy pattern for that!!
I know I’m late watching your video, but just the same, I just love the look of a crocheted edge! I bought a one yard remnant of fleece that I’ve been wondering what in the world to make with it. Now I know!! First I will have to get one of those rotary hole cutters. I’ve got the cutting mat from previous sewing projects. This was a great tutorial! Thanks so much for sharing your creativity!😊 ❤-Brenda
You are very welcome! Glad you found it helpful!
Love this C2C pattern. Thank you. ❤
You are very welcome!
I bought some Sweet Rolls on the Black Friday sale. I might use those.
I would love to see it! If you're on Ravelry you can add pictures of your project to the pattern here: ravel.me/sunset-dreams-c2c-blanket Either way, I hope you enjoy making a blanket!
Thanks!
What a wonderful step up to those fleece blankets.❤
Thanks! It really helps transform them!
Very informative! Thank you!
