Came from your reddit post and I have to say, while this comparison is nice, I feel like it neglects the heart rate. As far as I know, the heart rate on heavy armor with full equipment goes up way faster than on any other clothing level, meaning you will be slowed down much sooner than with the other clothes. You basically compared a short sprint, but the real difference comes with stamina and longer routes. That’s at least what it feels to me having played this game for a few years now. I’d suggest a 1000m track at least. If you need help with the setup, I’d be happy to give a hand.

Very good video I think the running animation is focused around when there is something in teh players hands Makes more sense perhaps when they have a weapon, although when you look at it long enough it doesn't look 'right' compared to some games and IRL Star Citizen has a long way to go in properly making armour and weight choices actually matter imo, I've been posting about this on spectrum forever

This is a small detail I've never seen anyone talk about and is the most original video I've seen having to do with SC on TH-cam. This literally is so cool, and yes leaning that much forward would be a huge face plant. Hopefully they can make changes to better what you can do with what you are wearing. Good Experiment, its just strange to realize that all that faux speed we feel while running without armor was a ruse. Maybe CIG will actually make changes if we bring this to light on the Spectrum forums.

Would have loved to see with some more running with weights. Especially a LMG and larger weapons seem to slow you down substantially. Also, I think the female body type is slower.

Ive seen the SC animators on linkedin, i can assure you they 100% don't know how a human runs.

it was mentioned in recent ISC or SCL that pretty soon we wont be able to run at all if using full armor with no leg component. implying that legs are meant to support the suit. maybe heavies are meant to have better augments than lights, bringing the times closer? regardless, subbed to see a retest when that patch drops :)

Awesome comparison. It does seem slower when I run in heavy gear.

We tested that some time ago in the Hangar, our conclusion was that light Armor is faster the Heavy Armor. So I fucking love you did this. 😂

Mod creators in most high-end games I know literally create more things in a week, and don't charge $35 USD for it as well... I bought the pack and to be waiting this long is an insult from CIG, really. I ordered stuff from Cit Con 4wks ago and are still waiting for arrival with no word or tracking numbers meanwhile - not even a confirmation email was sent after that goods have left (and I'm almost a wing commander lvl !o0!) Only modestly impressed with the pack...
