Hi Ariele. Those profile decorations on your cover of Middlemarch are called cameos. They are often seen as jewelry in the form of a brooch or as a pendant on a necklace. The Chiltern Classics are very special indeed. Love them, but the text CAN be too small for some people to read. As someone already noted, those edges on your Steinbeck Centennial Editions are called deckled edges, and the flaps on those editions are called French flaps. I'm a big fan of French flaps (classy!) and I also love deckled edges. Many people do NOT. Please don't feel bad about not having read most of your classics. You have your whole life ahead of you to read these books, and, when you do, you will love (most of) them. They are called classics for a reason. God, I sound like some kind of know-it-all teacher or something. I don't mean to be.

I read a great dystopian called Vox by Christina Dalcher it takes place in a near-future US where women are only allowed to say 100 words per day after a religious takeover of the government. I read a fantastic mystery thriller called A Madness of Sunshine by Nalini Singh, it takes place in a small town in New Zealand.

I just finished The Wall on Saturday! I'd love your opinion, I still don't know how many stars to give it. I'm currently reading Remnant Population by Elizabeth Moon because it was inspired by The Wall (really liking that so far). A great thriller I read last month was Insomnia by Sarah Pinborough, she also wrote a book called "Poison; Charm; Beauty" that is a smutty fairytale retelling I'm really looking forward to getting to

Oooo I was wondering if other people had heard of the wall cause it was entirely new to me when I got it! Hoping to pick it up soon. Insomnia has been on my list for a while cause it sounds like the type of thriller that I enjoy (love an unreliable narrator haha).

The two best books written in letters that I have read are 'Address Unknown' by Catherine Kressman Taylor and 'The Tenant of Wildfell Hall' by Anne Bronte. From what I remember Dracula is partially/mostly told in letters (but I personally greatly preferred Frankenstein).

@@arielereads7010 I liked Dracula more than Frankenstein my first time through too, I've read them three times each and Frankenstein got better each time for me. Carmilla by JS le Fanu is my favorite classic vampire novel, it's really short so you can read it in one or two sittings (and it's older than Dracula). You helped me choose my special 50th book of the year, it is The Deathless Girls by Kiran Millwood Hargrave, it's a Dracula retelling from the perspective of his wives. I barely started it but I'm really enjoying it so far! Edit finished Deathless Girls it's a 4.5, and a prequel not a retelling

A fantastic beginner friendly clean fantasy series is The Shadow of the Fox by Julie Kagawa, plus I can promise the books get better as you go. There are only three so it's very manageable and contained. PS I finished A Day of Fallen Night it is as good or better than Priory!

The rest are mostly psychology, criminology, astrophysics and math 🙈 which may not seem too appealing unless there's a specific interest in the topic.
