Yeah I'll never forget the feeling of watching that intro for the first time. It's still one of my favorite opening cinematics of any game, along with SoulCalibur II and a few others. Even my non-gamer friends back in the day would comment on how good it was when we'd boot it up during hangouts.

Absolutely! Even today this game is one of my golden standards for what a fighting game should be. The fact that it came out 20 years ago and only needed some professional upscaling to look this good on modern hardware shows just how hard it pushed the original Xbox and the limits of what was graphically possible at the time. Graphics aside, the amount of _free_ content along with the killer soundtrack, creative stages and modes like online play really made this the shining gem of the series. Dead or Alive 4 is a close second, and while I do still really enjoy the newer games in the series, the insane DLC practices, design overhaul and strong push to make it more of an eSports competitive series caused it to lose part of what made it special in the first place. A fun, stylish and content-packed fighting game that's accessible to everybody and didn't take itself too seriously.

I talk about the ornate keys in the "Changes & Updates" chapter of the video. You can't buy them anymore unfortunately, they can only be found from certain stages within the invasion maps. What I'd suggest is completing invasion mode first, then going back through the maps and clearing as many leftover stages as you can, including the mini-games because unfortunately some of those (like the Block Buster stages) drop a key on first completion. Some of the stages that require krowns to attempt, like the herb and booster stages mentioned in the video, also drop a key on first completion. There's roughly the same amount of keys now as there are chests, and I'll try to keep track of them next season so that I can let you guys know exactly which stages have keys. I hope this helps!

Same! The Xbox was always booted up during hangouts and parties. Tons of hours listening to music and playing Halo, Dead or Alive, Def Jam and tons more. Definitely not something that's easily replicated these days, so I hold those memories pretty close and love it when I can go back and play these games on modern hardware.

I talk about the ornate keys in the "Changes & Updates" section of the video. They're spread out among all of the stages of each mesa, with some only being accessible after you've beaten the final invasion boss and used his key item to break the flame barriers found on each map. My advice is to finish invasion mode first and then go back and do as many stages as possible, including mini-games because some keys (unfortunately) drop from the Block Buster stages. I've also noticed that a lot of stages that require krowns to attempt, like the Herb and Booster stages, will drop a key on first completion. Next season I'll try to keep track of which stages drop keys and list them in the video description to make things a bit easier.

I'm honestly not sure what you mean by the skeleton animations looking weird, but especially on console they should be exactly the same as everyone else because there aren't any graphics settings to adjust in-game. It's possible that the game hasn't finished installing completely (sometimes games have a "ready to play" checkpoint during install that lets you start the game with the bare minimum of installed data) which could maybe be resulting in some weird graphics or animations. Make sure it's fully installed and restart your PS5 just to be safe. Either way, I'm glad that you're enjoying the game so far!

There actually is an Invincible relic this season, but it's earned by beating level 90 of the seasonal tower, which I agree is way too late for most players to take advantage of. Unless the challenge you're talking about is the weekly Dragon Krystal challenge though, I'd honestly just ignore it since you'll have plenty of other opportunities to get tower points throughout the week, and some of those challenges just aren't worth the effort. EDIT: I just realized you meant the weekly challenges that aren't part of the Towers of Time (the ones for the weekly skin palette) which actually has a much easier solution! Those challenges can be done anywhere, so what you can do is go to the very first mesa (Fengjian Village) and do the first encounter that's just a regular fight. As long as you're invasion level 30, your fighter should be doing enough damage to end that fight in a couple of hits. To make it even easier, you can re-allocate all of your stat points into attack to make sure that you're doing as much damage as possible. I hope this helps!

I remembered enjoying the game when I was younger, but couldn't remember the soundtrack and was pleasantly surprised! Gave me big Final Fantasy and Star Wars vibes. I really enjoyed listening to the tunes while I was making my way through the stages.

Stat points that are given for leveling invasion level are shared between characters, so all you need to do is swap to the other ones and allocate their stat points accordingly. Li Mei's stat points are higher because of the herbs and boosters that I used throughout invasion mode, which I talk about in the Full Herb and Full Booster sections of the video. Keep in mind that stat boosts given by herbs and boosters are only applied to the character that's equipped when they're used, so they aren't shared between characters like invasion level points are.

I'm super impressed and grateful for what they were able to bring to backwards compatibility, but there's still quite a few gems that I would've loved to have played on modern systems, like the Fatal Frame games for example. I try to keep in mind that players of all skill levels are checking out these videos, so I like to cover as much as I can even if it means repeating some of the same tips every season. I'll always add chapters so that experienced players can skip ahead to the season-specific updates and details, so hopefully no one ever feels like they're getting left behind. The support's been amazing though and I really appreciate it!

Basically you're exploring an abandoned power plant, with each level having its own puzzles that you need to solve to progress to the next area. Puzzles are in the form of turing machines (sort of) which is where the play on words comes from with the title of the game. It's a very chill, fun little puzzle game especially if you're into simple programming. Due to the nature of the puzzles, a lot of them can be solved in multiple ways, and you can get achievements for solving some of them in fewer steps.

You'll be awarded one Dragon Blood every time you beat a seasonal tower level. So you start the tower, beat all 7 fights and then at the end you'll get a Dragon Blood komponent along with your other rewards. Dragon Scales are different and are much harder to get, with no guaranteed drop method as far as I know.

Thanks for the confirmation! I've had a few people comment already about the level 90 Invincible relic, so it's pretty much confirmed now which is good. Unfortunately, by that point, it doesn't help much unless you're grinding for additional XP and currency. Hopefully next season they'll allow us to get it earlier so that we can put it to better use during the invasion map stages and seasonal tower grind.

You actually don't need to wait for the tower to expire to do it again and get the rewards, which is why this method works so well. Regular invasion stages only award Victory XP once, but the Towers of Time are different. You can repeat any Towers of Time tower multiple times and you'll still receive the Victory XP bonus, currency and challenge points at the end, which is why I suggest repeating it as quickly as possible.

Dragon Scales are good but like you mentioned, the issue is that they're incredibly hard to find. Dragon's Blood, while not as good, are guaranteed drops from every seasonal tower level. As long as you wait to use them until you have the rest of the materials for your talisman upgrade, they're a lot more viable. Talismans are really more of an afterthought now anyway, since in the time it takes to create a truly broken one, you could increase your fighter's stats tenfold with full-herb and booster stages and clear out the seasonal tower without any issues.

I actually prefer the ice meteor due to the fact that it freezes opponents, which works really well with the relics that remove damage scaling. It's really up to preference though since all of the meteor talismans can last the entire match using the trick that I mention, which is really the most important part.

You don't need to send a pic since I was already getting comments letting me know about the Invincible relic dropping at level 90 of the seasonal tower, so your additional comment just confirms it even more. It's too bad that they stuck it so far up the tower levels because by that point it's really only useful for grinding XP and currency, but I guess it's better than no relic at all this season.

Chest keys only drop from specific invasion stages this season, they can't be purchased, and there's roughly only as many keys as there are chests (I was only left with one additional key after clearing the invasion maps 100%). Some stages that I remember dropping a key on first completion were the Block Buster mini-game stages and the stages that require krowns to attempt, like the herb and booster stages. It's an annoying change for sure, but it's their way of forcing players to actually explore the maps and finish as much as possible if they want to access the chests.

Use the hourly tower method shown in the "Farming & Grinding Methods" part of the video. You need to make sure that you're invasion level 30 first, but it gives the most fighter and kameo XP per time spent. To make it go even faster, once you have a few thousand krowns saved up, spend 30 minutes doing the full-herb stages to boost your main fighter's stats. Also, make sure to boot the game up on weekends to see if there's a Double XP weekend event happening. We don't know when they're scheduled beforehand, but it's the absolute best time to grind character levels.

If you go to the special konsumables shop that I show at 26:05 in the video, you can purchase a challenger medallion that will force a secret fight after any fight that has one. You should be able to just use the item and start any of the surrounding stages on the invasion map, beat it however you want, and you'll be greeted with the prompt for the secret fight afterwards. If it doesn't activate, try a different stage. Just in case you can't watch the video, the special konsumables shop is near the end of the Fire Temple mesa, at the bottom right side of the map.

While I try really hard to look at the positives of this game, it's hard to deny what a messy release it's been. The game was obviously released in an unfinished state in order to maximize microtransactions, followed by a year of NRS scrambling to add content and fix what was already there, only for leakers to reveal that further content that may or may not have been in the works is now cancelled. I've never felt taken advantage of by a Mortal Kombat title as much as I have with MK1, and despite my love for the series, this experience has made me strongly consider skipping their next game on release. I guess time will tell if they can earn their players' trust back.

I talk about this in the video, but unfortunately they did, at least from the Invasion maps this season. The only chance of it dropping now would be as a random relic from the Towers of Time hourly shop, or as a reward from the Seasonal Tower since that's how I was able to earn a second one last season. These aren't guarantees, so I'd suggest playing under the assumption that there is no Invincible relic until you get one some other way.

I also REALLY appreciate the full herb random Kombat locations, the booster ones too but those are kind of useless when a character has no weaknesses, like Ghostface who is my main. What I am saying is, awesome video. You earned a subscriber.

For the Zero to Death relic, I show where to get it in the "Shops (Special Relics)" and "Relics" sections of the video, but there's a shop in the Living Forest that you can only access after you've beaten the final invasion boss because you need his key item to break the fire barriers. This shop sells special one-time purchase relics, one of of which is the Zero to Death relic.

From my experience, keys only drop from specific stages, and at the end of invasion mode you'll only be left with one key after opening all the chests. Block Buster stages seem to drop keys on first completion, as do the stages that require krowns to attempt, like the full herb and booster stages. It's definitely an annoying change, even though I appreciate the fact that we don't have to make inventory space for keys anymore. As for skins, some chests do have new skins, but it's not something that I keep track of because since this is a repeat season, mosts chests that have skins for other people aren't going to have skins for me.

Starts you on kritical health, while in kritical health meter slowly charges over time, and damage you take goes to your meter first

Exactly what @WaterPowerInsanity said. The relic doesn't make you fully invincible because if an attack is able to wipe out your meter and health in one hit, you can still die. But your meter recharges so quickly (almost instantly) with it on that as long as your defense and health stats are high enough, it basically becomes impossible to die other than guaranteed kill moves like Geras' invasion boss hourglass move. Another perk is that as long as health is never taken from your health bar and is only taken from your meter during a match, you'll still get a flawless victory, which basically guarantees a flawless victory bonus for XP and currency at the end of a fight.

You can still get them as random drops from pretty much any fight, or as guaranteed first-time completion drops from most of the optional invasion stages. It really is just much easier and faster to use the full-herb stages that cost krowns, and if you're having trouble getting krowns, check out the pinned comment and the Krown Farming section of the video.

@@NightmareEmperor013 I haven't made a guide for the mini-games themselves, but I think the only ones that guarantee a key drop on first completion are the Block Buster minigames. What I'd do is go through the rest of invasion first, get the other keys that are drops from fights, then go back and do cleanup of the optional stages afterwards. Some of them, like the zombie ones, are a lot easier once you've leveled up your fighter because they do more damage and can kill the enemies easier.

I tried using the secret fight medallion (which guarantees a secret fight at the end of a fight if there is one) on both the level 30 and the level 32 Scorpion final invasion boss and didn't get a secret fight, so it's hard for me to say. I'm not ruling it out, it's possible that I just haven't used the medallion on the right fight yet, but for now I'm not seeing any secret fights that drop exclusive rewards.

No problem! Yeah the new MK games get more and more ridiculous in terms of grinding for content, and the gameplay itself is constantly evolving, with this game being the hardest to learn due to the introduction of kameos. Luckily, if all you're after is rewards from the single player content, then guides like this show how to make things as easy as possible on yourself without having to learn intricate 20-hit combos. Having said that, keep playing and practicing and I'm sure that you'll become a force to be reckoned with in no time.

@@Listen2Quran5 Honestly I can see it still being useful for anyone who still needs to grind for Seasonal Kredits or Koins to finish buying out the shrine and seasonal store, but you're completely right that it's going to be useless for a lot of players by that point. I'm hoping that this isn't how they'll be giving the Invincible relic out to players going forward, but we won't know for sure until next season.

@ I think it will be like this next season. Pretty sure it wasn’t in the first few so I think they’ll have it like this until it gets to the season it was added in. Also wasn’t the shrine empty this time round? It was for me

We never really know when the Titan battles are going to show up, but it's usually at least a couple of weeks into the season. What I do is log onto the game and check the invasion map every Wednesday and Saturday, which gives me enough time to see if there's a Titan battle without missing it. They only last for 3 or 4 days, so if you only check one day a week then you might still miss it.

I know how you feel when it comes to the trials and how annoying it is that you need to complete them for 100%. For the kombo trials, what I would suggest is practicing it in parts instead of trying to do the whole kombo at once. Start with the first two parts, keep doing them over and over until you have the finger memory for it, and then add in the other two parts afterwards. It's easier for your brain to keep track of it that way, or at least it is for me.
