Boats and trains, a unique mixture.
Both are reflected in my writing and my films, some made during my seafaring days, some as recently as yesterday.

Test running Tramvajové Nebe
Having fitted a timer circuit and diodes to Don Sibley's layout, I ran a few tests.
The end sections are all fitted with diodes to prevent overrunning. The timer circuit is energised by push button (actually I touch two wires together!), then reverses the polarity of the track/overhead feed. The tram goes on its way and stops at the end of the run. After an interval, the polarity reverses again when the relay loses power, and the tram returns to its starting position.
There are two routes: one is a narrow gauge line, the other a standard gauge line. The track on part of the route is mixed (3-rail). Naturally they can only run separately.

Special train run by the Statfold Barn Railway on the evening of September 16, 2023, for the exhibitors at the 009 Society's 50th Anniversary celebration. The train is hauled by Bagnall 4-4-0 Isibutu. It runs along the balloon track twice, once in reverse, then chimney first. The video ends with a photo series of exhibits inside the museum hall.

On Saturday evening, 26 August 2023, a special train was run in connection with the narrow gauge model railway show at the Valkenburg (Katwijk) museum. The train was hauled by SKL no. 8, a Henschel 'Fabia' 0-4-0 well tank. Restoring an old Egger-Bahn model tram locomotive

This 1960s model, owned by a friend, came with a motor, but without a chassis. I cut down an equally old Minitrix 0-6-0 chassis and ground away part of the Egger ballast block to fit the replacement chassis. The original motor fits and still works. The chassis is slightly offset to the front, but this isn't noticeable from normal viewing angles.

Dat vind ik niet goed als hij die kwikwi lokt , in de vorige film ,deze meeneemt en ook het nest met eitjes. Dat is plunderen.Laat toch het dier met rust en haar nest . Zo maakt u de natuur kapot en u hebt u geen visjes volgend jaar. U wilt toch ook leven en u vangt al zoveel met uw net. Dit noem ik hebzuchtigheid. Foei meneer.

Is it powered by the overhead wire
Prachtige beelden die mooie herinneringen bij me oproepen, ik was dekjongen, na 1 reis matroos o/g, en daarna matroos op diverse Nedlloyd schepen in die tijd. Laarderkerk, Leiderkerk, Sinoutskerk, Leuve Loyd, Loire Loyd etc. Toen ik op de Nedlloyd Dejima (containervaart) een reis maakte besefte ik dat dit de toekomst zou worden en dat het varen zoals ik het kende voor altijd voorbij zou gaan.. Helaas heb ik gelijk gekregen… het hedendaagse container varen lijkt wat mij betreft nergens op, de charme en het avontuur van toen is volledig weg. Ik koester de mooie herinneringen en ik ben blij dat ik die mooie tijd heb mogen beleven.
Excellent Experience
Ik heb dezelfde reis in 72 gemaakt. Was mijn eerste reis als stm ll. Een onvergetelijke ervaring en als ik de film terugzie roept dat weer zoveel herinneringen op. Mijn reis was met de Bawean met een bemanning van 65 man. Nu niet meer voor te stellen. Ik ben blij dat ik de "oude" tijd nog mee heb mogen maken want de charme van toen is er nu wel een beetje af. Bedankt voòr het delen van deze unieke beelden.

A great video. I have one of these and ordered the parts from Nigel Lawton. When received the bushes he had supplied were 4.3 mm long. I found this strange as I had ordered the 2.6mm as indicated in your video. I assumed all was well and fitted the supplied bushes to the axle glueing in place. Then could not fit these into the loco, contacted Nigel Lawton to advise him of this error but cannot get any response from him despite two emails. A complete waste of money. How can anyone do business in this manner???

Mooi filmpje! Kwam wangeroog tegen op google maps, zag een oud spoorlijntje liggen en ben direct op onderzoek uitgegaan! Kwam uw filmpje tegen en weet dat ik dit jaar met lekker weer daar heen ga! Wil dit historische smalspoor graag van dichtbij bekijken, geopend in 1897 door de Pruisische staatsbanen!

Hi Ted, I have long been an admirer of your work. On Nixnie I was wondering how you operate the points? On the video it sounds as though they are motorised but there is no evidence of above board motors and I know that the layout is built on 50mm of solid polystyrene so I assume fitting motors below the board isn't straight forward. That iron structure hanging over the river was obviously for extraction ,export /exploitation ,many years ago ,you now return on a holiday to enjoy yourselves in this paradise ,with no acknowledgment voiced,as you enjoy the cream of long established privilege off the back of human suffering.
Thank you for your reply, even though it sounds like a reproach. The structure over the river is a bulk loading plant for rice cultivated in the area. Regrettably it was allowed to run into disrepair, even though this area is still a large rice producer. Exploitation? Yes, the erstwhile Colony was built on exploitation. If you take trouble to look at my acknowledgement of the human suffering of the past, perhaps you will take a look at what I wrote in my author's blog.
