Harley Davidson XLCR Motorcycle Cafe Racer - Canyon Ride
มุมมอง 6K2 ปีที่แล้ว
One of my favorite motorcycles is this 1977 Harley Davidson XLCR. When the Cafe Racer popularity exploded in the mid 1970's, Harley Davidson wanted to get into the action and did so with this Willy G. design. Though not really competitive with the best of the European bikes, it was a significant leap forward for Harley in terms of both performance and certainly design. It was the first Sportste...

I remember seeing them on the road in 77 and 78. My Kawasaki 900 and KZ1000 would put them to shame any time and cost a lot less to buy. But I think they are good looking bikes, just too slow and heavy to compete with other bikes.

I think these are possibly the worst looking motorcycles Harley ever made. Willie G. couldn’t make up his mind if he wanted a flat tracker or a road racer. He got neither and now we know why they only made them for 2 years. Having said that, this is a nicely preserved example.

For a well-maintained XLCR in this day and age, a subscription seems a small thing to ask. Done and dusted.

Nice ride, but the painted bumpers is Ghetto. You might as well spray the wheels and tires too. Headlights suck too. 🍷😹👌🌴

I don't like the headlights and the rivets or bolts or whatever they are and especially the skinny sidewall tires. I am old school when it comes to muscle cars and have to have some big fat meaty tires on the back. The rear tires are wide enough but need more sidewall. I am not into the skinny tire look. Other that it is pretty awesome. The wheels are not bad but I could find much better and chrome would be 10X better than the grey wheel. I do like the deep dish of the rear wheels. I generally don't like side pipes but the black is much better than the traditional chrome and works for me. I get rid of the headlights and rivets/bolts and put them back to fold away hideaway headlights a traditional front end and put some fat tires on the back. Front tires can be skinny. I love the color and paint pattern that ?orange?/?bronze? really works and is very unique, you just don't see to many cars that color. For "ME" make those changes and that would make the car one of the best custom corvettes out there imo.

This build is so awesome! I have a 77 Vette with a 400 Crate and I am a hand fabricator, so I am currently rebuilding the interior to have a modern look to it. I don't know a lot about the mechanical side to the car and I am trying to learn more and more. I am building a new console, dash, speakers, apple car play, push to start etc. But I am keeping the exterior with the majority of it looking how it did. HOWEVER! I want to put some fatter tires in the rear (not as wide as the ones you have on right now), wider than the stock ones I have, but I don't want to make it a widebody. If going the widebody route is the only option, I would only want to do the slightest widebody. In order to have fatter tires in the rear, do I have to redo the interior fiberglass shell in the back and make the wheelwell area bigger and closer together? How does it work mechanically? Keep in mind that I don't want to go too wide like how you have it, just wide enough where it is noticeable!

Beautiful bike, again! But agree with the peanut gallery on BaT, the music was a poor choice. Nothing over that, but Motorhead "Built for speed" or "Ace of Spades" would be a good choice, but some classic Bachman Turner Overdrive, Credence, Deep purple Burn would be great, but Highway star would really fit well. Nobody gonna take my girl I'm gonna keep her to the end Nobody gonna have my girl She stays close on every bend Ooh she's a killing machine She's got everything Like a moving mouth body control And everything I love her I need her I seed her Yeah she turns me on Alright hold on tight I'm a highway star Nobody gonna take my head I got speed inside my brain Nobody gonna steal my head Now that I'm on the road again Ooh I'm in heaven again I've got everything Like a moving ground an open road And everything I love it and I need it I seed it V twin is all mine Alright hold on tight I'm a highway star Nobody gonna take my ride I'm gonna race it to the ground Nobody gonna beat my bike It's gonna break the speed of sound Ooh it's a killing machine It's got everything Like a driving power big fat tires And everything I love it and I need it I bleed it Yeah it's a mad hurricane Alright hold on tight I'm a highway star I'm a highway star I'm a highway star

Amazing cool bike, have always liked these, came here from BaT, but I won't be bidding sorry. Too rich for my blood & I have several Buells, my favorite is a 98 S1 Black lightning which is the ultimate American made cafe racer. But sweet bike you have! Beautiful 🥰❤️!!!
