Pat Freiermuth is MAKING WAVES With The Steelers
As a chiefs fan and in college I remember watching this pick with my roommates at a Bdubs. My boy was a Seahawks fan still feeling relevant in the legion of boom era. He said not picking Watson doomed our franchise for the foreseeable future. I often wonder what he’s up to these days.
😂 so the bad season says everything about the franchise. The still have 6 rings. Only one ☝️ other team can say that and that’s the pats.
Losing? Never heard of her
Damn i wish alex smith never got hurt. Its wild that he was 12-4 as Washingtons QB. With his consistent qb play and that defense they could of done some work.
The 2023 Eagles were the same way. Somehow, they won 10 in a row. Everyone knew something was wrong with the Steelers that year. I'm beginning to think that it's not a benefit to a lot of teams to rest starters before the playoffs. Belichick never did.
this is when i turned against tomlin. i know they weren’t as good as their record, but that meltdown was absolutely embarrassing. it wasn’t just going 1-5 to end the season… it was being completely unprepared for the playoff game, it was juju’s dancing crap. after the 2018 meltdown… time to go mike
This week, on Days of Our Steelers...
Plandemic. Gayest season ever .
I feel like most people could see they were frauds with all their close victories Close victories like that don’t usually last especially in the playoffs them and the Vikings in 2022 found that out the hard way
Mike Tomlin 🙄
dang this season feels like yesterday
I remember having to go into work that night of the wildcard weekend on Sunday. I watched the Ravens game as a Ravens fan and saw it satisfying that they got revenge on the Titans (down to stomping on their logo after the Titans stood on the Ravens logo several weeks before in pregame). Slept through the Trubisky NVP Game (the trolls were hilarious). I tuned in at the end of the first quarter. When I saw the Browns leading 28-0, I thought I my eyes had deceived me. Moral of the story is the 2020 Steelers were pure arrogance. They fucked around with the Browns and found out. That first play in the playoff game was the entire game in a nutshell. The Steelers were arrogant. The Browns saw this and seemed content to make good, smart plays while letting the Steelers shit all over themselves.
"winning culture"
This was one fucky year
Every time the Steelers take the final game off to rest the "stars" they fall flat on their ass: 1994 against the charges, 2017 and 2020 against the Browns. These teams beat them in the playoffs BECAUSE having beat the resting team, they knew they could. NEVER take the last game off!
huffing copium in the wsh loss bro. steelers got outplayed by a qb with one leg
Alex Smith was also in his mid 30s so it wasn’t a shock the Chiefs were going for a guy when they wanted it
Omar khan has been cleaning house. The steelers culture has been bad for at least ten years. Too many me players. Thats never been the steelers way. Too many chase claypools, jujus, diontae Johnsons, devin bush, kenny picketts, mike mitchell l,AB and leveon bells. Need our culture back. Need more hines ward, Jerome bettis, polamalus, james harrison, joey porters. Guys that bleed the black n gold. Personally i think tomlin needs to be gone as well.
Also didnt help that they had 3 games games rescheduled that season and really never had a true bye week. The ravens games scheduled for thanksgiving was made up nearly a week later.
That Ravens game was the first true show of their flaws. They barely beat a Ravens team where half the roster was on Covid Reserve.
@shocktrauma85 they lost to a browns team that was covid Ridden in playoffs. I'm not a fan of Tomlin. Guy is so overated. Never has team prepared.
Most realistic Steelers fans including myself knew this team wasnt as good as their record when they were 11-0. They were winning in spite of themselves. Clawing and stumbling down the finish line in order to win games. They were all smoke and mirrors.
Yep. I remember saying at like 6-0 that they would blow it. Everybody hated me for it. Called it. 🤣
I remember thinking that something was very wrong that we had the worst run game in the entire league😂 I was like Ben can’t do it all. And then we shat the bed
I remember my brother passed away 12-6-2020. They were 11-0 when he died. After that almost total collapse except a second half comeback vs indy. Coincidence? I don't know..2020 was a strange year.
2023 eagles collapse was very similiar.
Frauds
This dude was already a confirmed great pick after winning first Super Bowl. Never did I think he would be a 3 time Super Bowl champ. Crazy.
Funny that the Bills created their Boogie-man
He was picked last?😂
No
@@Moon22999 lol 😂
Thanks Veach, Chiefs kingdom is eternally grateful! You are the man baby!!!! 🎉
I cannot conceive the amount of anxiety coach Reid and, maybe even more so, Brett Veach had to endure from the beginning of the draft up untill they had the pick
Typical Buffalo. Thank God for Josh Allen.
Allen sucks. Cam Newton 2.0
Leader ✅ Clutch ✅ Intelligent ✅ Coachable ✅ Right Balance between Confident and Humble ✅ Great Arm ✅ Great Mobility ✅ Likeable ✅ Tom Brady might be better at Pre-Snap but in my opinion Patrick is the most skilled player I've ever seen. But to have success over 20 years like Brady did so many things have to go right 🙈 You just have to take each year as it could be your Last. At the end we will see who is on top. Either way: Greatest Draft Choice the Chiefs ever did 👍
I remember as a chiefs fan watching that 2017 draft and literally saying to a coworker later, “why did we draft a QB? we already have Alex Smith.” So Glad to be wrong
I hated the bears draft we got a lemon
So the Chiefs were making the playoffs way before Mahomes yet he gets all the credit? Literally put the dude on a playoff team lol
But they didn’t win a superbowl for 50 years. Mahomes won them 3 in 5 years
@@ulfricstormcloak4230 so A slightly better Alex Smith won them ok
U calling Mahomes a slightly better Alex smith might be the most retarded thing of all time. Mahomes threw 50 TDs and 5k yards his first season starting. Alex Smith sucked a lot worse than what people think of him. I couldn’t wait to get rid of smith after his first year in KC
@@Beamskiido you understand what Mahomes did for the Chiefs? Chiefs barely made the playoffs and were 1st round exists at best. Mahomes came in and we have never not played in an AFC Championship game with 5 straight at home. 4 superbowl appearances and 3 superbows. Do you know the difference between a 1st round exist team and a multiple superbowl winning team? All thanks to Mahomes
@@AugustineKusiDuah-bk4fr he took a team already making the playoffs with Alex smith back to the playoffs? Wow so cool
I'm saying this The Chiefs should be thanking the Broncos for trading up in the 2016 NFL draft and selecting Paxton Lynch because if the Chiefs were able to draft Lynch then they wouldn't have to trade up to draft Mahomes but they wouldn't trade down in the 2016 draft and draft Chris Jones
3 Super Bowls later... the rest was history...
And to think, people doubted this pick… 😜
it was destiny since Pat was born. he was always meant to be in Kansas City w Andy.
3 Super Wins and 3 Super Bowl MVPs later.
The best is yet to come!
I love the chiefs
Blessing from the Gods
_. . . and the rest is HIStory ! ! !_
As a Saints fan, it hurts to know how close the Saints came to getting Mahomes. One pick away and the Chiefs swoop in. Damn. 😋
Andy Reid said it was the interview that sold him. He said Mahomes had a better understanding of the position then most QB. He didn't bring any baggage or bad habits. And he said Mahomes listen to him. The rest they could teach him. Never mind Mahomes learned about the work ethic from Smith. If you wanted to win...And Mahomes put in the time to learn all he could in his first year..
Ryan Pace didn’t even look at Patrick M. For one second, the worst GM in the history of football.
That is not how the word "persist" works...
The QB position above all others comes down to interviews. You need to see who's got the desire to grind the film room - Mahomes did, Deshaun didn't. Who has grit? Who have unquenchable thirst to improve? Capacity to learn? Can't get that on film. Seems to me that Andy "leaked" the playbook to Mahomes before their meeting and Mahomes turned up knowing all the answers to the test. That probably sealed the deal.
Who gives a crap?
Whaley was a figurehead by the time this all happened And had no actual involvement. Dont make shit up.
I'll tell you how! Pace and Nagy were dumbasses!
Sean payton would have selected pm with the next pick if kc didnt trade with Buffalo. Reid knew it.
