Personally I think yozuri is a very strong brand all the way around and not praised enough in the states. Their small pencil lure are my favorites. The white 4.5 inch pencil caught the best fish for me this past summer

I like using Berkeley vanish, I’ve used yozori but it feels too stiff and thick for my liking. Berkeley vanish works wonders because of the flexibility and durability, never fails me. Now I’m trying the fluoro shield version, it feels thicker than the vanish but thinner than yozuri. Need to test it out though. Seagur is decent imo, but to me it frays up a lot and it’s expensive. Pline is my least favorite because it snaps a lot on me. I like the testing you guys did though!

I normally buy t7, got a spool of the invisx on sale, should have stuck with t7

Glad to see guys like you running tests like this instead of just telling people what they think is best with no backup. I tried 5-6 different fluorocarbon lines(leader) on the river last year and found they break off much easier than Yozuri Hybrid. I ran a few tests for stretch and break strength using 20' lengths. The Yozuri stretched an average of 4" less and broke 3lbs higher. I'm using it on 7 rods this year.

A few years ago I started buying the cheapest line which is either Ozark trail or Fitec - both at Walmart. Every once in a while, or after winter storage, I'll tie off on a tree and stretch 100'+ of line for 30-40 seconds. The memory is completely eliminated and it's ready to go.

Best depends on what you want. I run braid and prefer some stretch so my braid doesn’t snap I run Pline for a lead ❤

Seaguar is junk. It kinks and retains a shit ton of memory. It is almost impossible to cast properly. I would only suggest using it for leaders.

The Yo-Zuri is the thickest line. It is probably the same diameter as other lines 12 pound line.

I have used the Trilene xl 12 lb. Test on my BlackMax reel and have had no problems with it.

I have a spool of yo zuri hybrid and I seem to have different results, I stress test each knot I tie with a decent tug and each time it broke I retied and double checked my knots and made sure I tied them correctly but it still broke each time, knots tied were simple Palomar and improved clinch knots, maybe I have to use different knots, maybe qc error?

Yup exactly. I have been using XL trilene for many years and it’s hands down the best monofilament I have ever used and it’s my absolute go to. I’ve tried many different monofilaments and always find myself coming back to the XL trilene due to its very far casting distance, holds knots better than any other line and is extremely manageable especially the newer updated formula. If anyone is reading this don’t bother getting the XT always go with the XL and pay attention and don’t get confused when shopping bc you can easily get the wrong one as they’re very similar. The biggest thing to me is casting distance and knot retention/lock up and you literally can’t beat it bc of how thin it is while also being very abrasive resistant. It’s much thinner than almost all of the competition which allows you the cast further while having all the positive characteristics mentioned earlier. Sall this in my recommended and wanted to see what this video was all about. I was very disappointed as the tests were very lacking. Do better next time.

I think 🤔 on the Sand paper you need 150 grit and water like a rock just thinking about your test is good just one thing water. I'm big Zebco guy.

You lost me when the line with the most stretch was viewed as the best. Unless you are using 2-pound line for large trout, maybe...but if you are using 10-lb line, you are likely looking for less stretch. Also, if you could test the memory of the line and knot strength, that would be great. Thanks for the effort and I look forward to future videos.

Love 14lb FC SNIPER SUN LINE as a leader tied up to 20 lb braid. 12 lb seaguar invizex is a close 2nd for sure!

P Line Floroclear is a Floro coated copolymer. You should have used PLine Tactical for this test. It wins in every category except perhaps price.

It looks like all you get from 100 percent fluorocarbon line is that it sinks faster, and might be more invisible. It seems to stretch as much as copolymer, so that is not a bonus, and is not as abrasion resistant. My money is on the copolymers.

You forgot to actually measure the line diameter! SO important since all the stats depends on this!!

Awesome job, but T7 should have got 4 place on wet strength due to two lines tying for first I assume so there is no second place, which still made it win!!!!

This is interesting. I just watched another video directly before this one. The old guy was using the Jasco product only... in his garage. He said to NOT let it dry, or the paint will harden back up as if you had never used it almost. Said to keep adding more if it starts to dry. He literally just took a wire brush dipped in gas... then used it to gently wipe the paint off with an almost 100% removal with almost no effort. It was very clean metal under there afterwards. The paint was totally gumming up the brush that he then dipped back into the bowl of gasoline... then slung the chunks of paint off onto an old floormat. Major difference than what I just saw from you guys. Have you guys tried all three of these without allowing it to dry out? I will be tackling this soon and want it to go as easy as possible. lol

Some of my best days at the blue are below freezing in terrible conditions. Fishined it a few years ago in freezing rain and 20 degrees. Tore them up! Must of caugut 100 betwen my griend and i. We make it a point to go when its nasty. Also have the whole river to ourselfs. I fish north of hwy 7

What knot(s) are the best for Floro to lure?
