Most stretch wins? You have it backwards. No one is looking for the stretchiest mono. How about diameter vs strength? Trilene was the thinnest, and still tied for 1st on abrasion resistance.
Yup exactly. I have been using XL trilene for many years and it’s hands down the best monofilament I have ever used and it’s my absolute go to. I’ve tried many different monofilaments and always find myself coming back to the XL trilene due to its very far casting distance, holds knots better than any other line and is extremely manageable especially the newer updated formula. If anyone is reading this don’t bother getting the XT always go with the XL and pay attention and don’t get confused when shopping bc you can easily get the wrong one as they’re very similar. The biggest thing to me is casting distance and knot retention/lock up and you literally can’t beat it bc of how thin it is while also being very abrasive resistant. It’s much thinner than almost all of the competition which allows you the cast further and it also has a lot less stretch which is always better.
Would like to know the line management and line memory. I bet Trilene has the best line management and least line memory. But Xpexpress probably has the best value. I am surprised by the good abrasion resistance performance of Trilene since I thought it’s Trilene’s weakest point. Don’t see why less stretch is a bad thing needless to say they all have plenty of stretch.
I bought zebco without knowing and man let me tell u it has the worst line memory I have every seen it’s genuinely terrible I usually use trilene big game and it’s prolly the best I used for the money
i use cajun as well. I always give it a stretch when new and the memory issue is done. It casts nicely and I like the red since visibility for me when tying is better
I use many different monofilament since I was a kid in the early seventy. I now use Sufix Siege mono 10lbs and 14lbs. I have broken worm hook with the Sufix siege
A few years ago I started buying the cheapest line which is either Ozark trail or Fitec - both at Walmart. Every once in a while, or after winter storage, I'll tie off on a tree and stretch 100'+ of line for 30-40 seconds. The memory is completely eliminated and it's ready to go.
hi line dyeing alters it, i have found that semi translucent grayish co-polymer has wot i need good knot strength, good abrasion resistance, and line strength
You lost me when the line with the most stretch was viewed as the best. Unless you are using 2-pound line for large trout, maybe...but if you are using 10-lb line, you are likely looking for less stretch. Also, if you could test the memory of the line and knot strength, that would be great. Thanks for the effort and I look forward to future videos.
Dunno where you're buying your line - but Fleet Farm sells Cajun for $6.49 for a 1/4lb spool. For 10# test, that's 1450 yards or .0045/yd - comparable to Ozark and H2O Xpress. That's it's everyday price - right now it's on sale for $4.99 or .0034/yd

Didn't see McCoy fishing line. Was a diehard Berkley Trilene XT user until last year. McCoy line not only behaves better, it is the equal of XT in abrasion resistance!
XL has much better abrasion resistance. You have it back wards. XL trilene is hands down the best monofilament on the market. Bar none. I have tried around 40+ brands and their line offerings over the last 10 years and have fished many local and state tournaments while also fishing almost every day so I have a lot and I mean a lot of experience and when I’m using mono i pretty much exclusively use trilene XL and it’s won me a good amount of money. I only have one set up with fluorocarbon and one with braid for my punching set up and the other 10 rigs I run 20 pound trilene XL. Since it’s thinner and dosnt have much stretch I’m able to cast further while using a relatively heavy line in regards to large mouth bass fishing so I never have to worry about breaking a line when there’s 1000$ up for grabs. A lot of guys use 8-10 pound but I find that very stupid and always have ever since I started fishing when I was young. I never want to leave a chance of a big fish my line. When I’m fishing very heavy cover I used 50 pound braid but besides that and my one fluorocarbon set up I’m exclusively using Trilene XL.
Also the new XL formula behaves much better than anything McCoy offers. Trust me. McCoy is thicker has less abrasive resistance and has a lot more stretch and doesn’t cast as far as XL. XL also holds a knot much better and has basically no memory what so ever. For the sounds of it you only used XT and not XL (which is much better). Maybe try making the switch.
Berkley is the only common brand you tested! H2O Express premium line $5.99 for 1200 yards? It’s good to see you included line diameter on this review. Did you test it or just use the info on the label? See my comments on your fluorocarbon review for more info.
Haha, which are do you live in? We are in south central US and these lines here are always in stock. We are only going off of the marketing material. We appreciate the feed back! What we focus on is testing to see if the manufacturers claims are true. Line diameter is important when it comes to more in-depth aspects of fishing. However, we are wanting to hold manufactures accountable to the marketing material they put out.
Ive been using the cajun 40lb and 50lb with wire leaders in saltwater for years without problems. I use $2 zebco omniflex 20lb for my inshore rods with the 40 or 50lb as a leader. Never had a problem either. Ive tried the braids and expensive lines just didnt seem worth the money.

when you do Flour to mono, test the recoil. Mono recoils to original strenth, fluoro stays stretched and less recoil
I have used Cajun lines for years and the performance is good in the hot and cold conditions in Montana
i use cajun as well. I always give it a stretch when new and the memory issue is done. It casts nicely and I like the red since visibility for me when tying is better
I have used the Trilene xl 12 lb. Test on my BlackMax reel and have had no problems with it.

I've landed so many big catfish on red Cajun line as well as some decent bass, the Mr Crappie line is pretty good too.

Adding H2O express to my arsenal!
XL trilene is much better. Trust

We’re line thickness ever considered in any of these tests

Where do you buy H2o express and does it come in 80lb? Thanks
Academy sports and outdoors is where they sell it. It's their brand.
I think 🤔 on the Sand paper you need 150 grit and water like a rock just thinking about your test is good just one thing water. I'm big Zebco guy.
Any test without stren is no test at all 😂
I’d have liked to have seen trilene XT blue label

ANDE MONSTAAAAA!( MONSTER)
Big game and P line ccx would be stronger and more abrasion resistant than any of these
Maxima ultra green
I’ve used Berkeley XT exclusively fishing salt water and never found anything better , that includes all the junk your testing .
Well bless your little heart.
