perfect video!!!! everyone who struggles with ND filters on a GoPro should watch this video!!
🤟
Hi, I do the same thing to blur my motovlog videos! I shoot at 60 fps and a shutter speed of 1/240. This makes the image stabilization work much better than shooting at 30 fps and 1/120, as the stabilizer really kicks in at 1/240. If you're shooting at 60 fps and 1/240, you'll need to use a lower ND filter because you'll be letting in less light. For example, if you were using an ND32, switch to an ND16, and if you were using an ND16, go down to an ND8. Finally, I export the video at 30 fps for the final result. Cheers!
really usefull information
Can these settings be used even when riding a motorcycle?
yes, why not ! 25fps shutter is 1/100 in my opinion is a great choice.
Kudos to you! But can I still use the ND32 for 24fps 1/100 with stabilization on?
I'm a newbie mountain biker on trails that's why I need a fast looking video but still super smooth stability.😂
Also 24fps u will have really strong motion blur. So u can test what it will be better for u (24 or 25 or 30fps )
be careful with ND 32, usually ND 16 can be enough.
@@liveartlife thank you! Do ND filter will help the camera to regain the stabilization?
@@phil5073 the stabilization doesn't work in 100% when u using ND, u saw it in my video
Thanks mate, I'll definitely try these settings with my brand new Freewell nd/pl filters kit. Best from Romania 👍
Do it with 25 or 30fps if u want to see more smooth picture, if u want more blur so it's 24fps )
Thank You, you tell so true what about condition which Number of ND can be used! P/s: I just wanna say little my exp when was using between Telesin and Freewell. (Telesin is cheaper) They are same ND but have Difference. ND 8 Freewell ~ strong like (nearly) ND 16 Telesin ND 16 Freewell ~ ND 32 Telesin .......... Here i wanna mention about "F Stop". And Freewell had more contrast image than Telesin and you wont have the "Vignette" blur black line border when captured. That was what i saw sorry my bad English!
Would u like to spill the setting ? For shutter speed and iso ? Hehe Btw,Is it necessary to put in high bit rate?
in this video I explained a little how I set up with ND filters! It's really simple th-cam.com/video/QL62bZO7KEY/w-d-xo.html

Яке тепле відео 😍 хотілося б трохи більше динаміки останні 30 секунд
Thank you from Italy! the solution is the best. THX
🙏🙏🙏
@liveartlife Last weekend I took a motorcycle ride and i put my gopro hero 7 on my motorcycle and the result was incredibile.
Yes brother, this is the best solution what I found, coz for the Vlog maybe it’s ok to use auto shatter, but for the bikes or more cinematic videos is disgustingly to use auto shatter !
Yooo thank you dude this really helped🙌🙌
Hi from Italy, I bought the ND filters a few days ago and I didn't know how to best use them when filming my rides with enduro motorbike. Thanks to you I now know how to do it, but how can I best adjust the exposure of my GoPro 10 action camera? Thank you very much
U should remember that stabilization will be not the same, like in auto settings ! For the Moto rides I think it’s good to mount camera on the helmet or chest and used ND16 or ND32 depending of the weather and sun. 4-5k 30fps or 25fps 25fps can be more cinematic ( 1/100 shutter) 30fps - a bit more smoother (1/120 shutter) If u want to mount camera on bike, not on your body or helmet is better to shoot without ND and auto shatter speed
@@liveartlife thanks 👍
@@liveartlife thank you 4 solution! But do you have any videos explained "what the time which ND (4/8/16/32....") can be used?" I never use ND32 because i saw it was too dark footage! Yesterday my place had a lightly stormy, still had Light above from the sky but no Sun. I have tested with ND8, quite well Light Footage but seems i lost some details of Cloud (because too many LIGHT in there, like Overexpos). My Setting always 60fps - 100/400iso - Auto White BL- 1/120 SS. Thank you so much! I hope you reply and help me. I really love ND Filter when doing my Motovlog, i dont wanna give up on them :(( Sorry if my English is bad but hope you understand my issues
@@phuotchillchill I'll try to make a small video about that, which one to use !
@@liveartlife thank you. I watched many clips but almost havent never had a comparison or use Number of ND 4 each situations. They just talk "Bright Sunny day, Bright Day, Crazy Bright...." what the hell how i know exactly what they really mean becauae each persion have thier own feelings
Does it work with the Gopro hero 12 as well? Sorry if this seems like a silly question 🙃
yes, of course ! U can use it. But most important for what kind of shooting u need motion blur. Coz maybe for u it will be just auto shutter speed
@@liveartlifeok, thank you for the advice. Appreciate it 👍🏻
I like your solution and your way of explaining. Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge. I was on the fence about buying ND filters because of the stabilization issues. I'm glad I found your video. 4K 24fps shutter 1/96 4K or 5K with Fps X4 . Wrote it all down 😉😊. You're a legend. Thank you
thank you )
@@liveartlife very welcome 😊
thank you sir for share your brilliant setting. i appreciate so much because need to use nd filter and stabilizer together 😊🙏
Great video no one has telling this
Thanks man,Great Video❤️ a small tip for motovloggers it is better to have less stablisation during motorcycle rides to bring that cinematic feel,i personally do 4k/30 with the shutter speed 1/60 and hypersmooth turned on.(Gopro hero 9)these settings work great for me cause it gives the feeling of speed and that raw cinematic footage.🎥
Thank you. I will try this on my next video with my gopro
This is the best solution what I found, it’s not perfect, but the best balanced between motion blur and stabilization)
@@liveartlife yeah. I tried it out. I do paragliding videos. I think i landed on full auto on shutter. Where i miss the motion blur is durong takeoff and landing. Thanks for the tip anyway :) work mush better than dobble framerate
Ohh bro For paragliding u don’t need motion blur ! Of course ! It’s good for cinematic videos, some type of vlogs, cars, motorcycles, and etc For action sports I think it’s unnecessary!
@@liveartlife its only in landing i miss it. Really jittery picture, when landing fast, on espesially grass.
kino
A little bit)
Wow ! The picture is so clean) I want Sony a7iv either !
Yeah, Sony is a beast !
Please write me in the comments, do you like cinematic chill videos or not ? Coz I’m a huge fan to watch this type of videos 😍😍😍
What would you recommend for TH-cam for best quality to shoot i do all my editing on phone app and upload, for the average joe ?
best quality will be 60fps to be honest, coz the bitrate higher. But I prefer on gopro 4r 30fps, but 60 will be higher bitrate.
same problem here my friend. you were the one who got closest to the perfection image
He found solution 1,5 years before you , but also thxs you for the solution. th-cam.com/video/0-u0b57xvl0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5XnJz3KQGLfYa9RX
I found the solution 3 years ago, but I didn’t make any videos in English.
Thanks for the upload 🎥👍👍
Was Hypersmooth set to ON or BOOST in this test? That's a huge variable.
U can use both, it’s not super huge difference with this settings for shutter
Thank you!
bro two minutes in and you repeated yourself three times.
coz for some people its difficult to understand information! if they are not pro in this.
Thank you
Great infos. Thanks.
I noticed riding my motorcycle with the GoPro 10 mounted on the helmet, that the motionblur also will be on -for example- on traffic. That I didn't want. I also tried several settings and found for myself that I do not want motion blur (in my case) but I do want the hypersmooth. This video: th-cam.com/video/hAb6VNcUI7Y/w-d-xo.html is showing my settings and it works great for me!
I have been trying to find a video telling about this problem for 1 month. Thank you!
Took me while to find tour video but its great. I had been problems with the stabilization
Great! 🔥 👍
Hi man nice video but I have a question for you: 1.This tip works on every filters or not(I mean like I can use 16 nd or 64nd for this)?2.what lens I need to use with this settings?:)Thanks for video I like!
U need to use ND exactly for yours light conditions. And any lens u want
Great advice but if I had a nd 8 or 16 what would the settings be ?
Doesn’t matter which filter u have, settings all the same, but if it will be to bright outside, u need to buy ND32 I think.
nd 8 or 16 on a sunny day will be much brighter and you can use high shutter to lessend the brightness, the problem you will loss some motion blur
great tip!
Thanks brother, God bless you.
Good advice, I used it on my motorcycle trip, but I can still see the mountain tops in the distance shaking, trembling, whatever. So for me, as I want to capture the beautiful scenery while riding, in full details, the motion blur will be cancelled. I'd rather not have any motion blur than come up after 5 hrs of riding with shaky landscapes all around. But probably for slower paced footage, the settings you proposed would work great. Cheers !
До чего акцент знакомый))
@ 3:41 , so you're recommending 4k or 5k 30fps with 1/120 shutter for best motion blur and stabilization? Im using my gopro for racing on a bike. and just got my nd to avoid jitter footage.
Yes u can try 4k or 5k with 30fps and ND filters, and if u like the results u can use it for the future. Coz I prefer with motion blur when I drive Moto, without ND it’s more stable picture but looks cheap and poor.
@@liveartlife thanks, have tried 5k 24 fps with 1/96 ss, still shaky a bit, but motion looks good.
@@shutterbyifan7958 sometimes better to use 25-30fps
That looks great. I have just started using a GoPro and need some ND filters so this helps
Thanks for the excellent advice, but should I keep the stabilization on the GoPro, off, low or high?
I using standard or high with ND filters
