pathologic 1 is so piss easy at times especially compared to p2, at least for me. i think i prefer many p1 character designs, the p1 soundtrack, p1s vibes, and the overall story of p1 more. but p2 is still amazing in all of those departments, and p2 has much better gameplay in nearly every way.

I really hate how cultish some, seemingly a lot, of Fromsoft fans have become. You literally cannot criticize this game at all in any way without being told you are just bad, to "git gud" and how the game is perfect because it's hard. I saw one guy say that he actively decided to dismiss all criticism of the game because 1 time he saw 1 guy say 1 stupid thing and therefore all criticism is invalid. I asked him if he thought Fromsoft was perfect and above flaw and he told me he wouldn't answer because it was a bad faith question.

Saburov only keep you in jail until certain time. If you choose the time to turn in properly, you will waste very little time spending in the jail. In jail, you are safe from the mob and you get to rest. This is the only bed in Haruspex's route that can only be used once. A place to rest is not easy to find. Saburov is obliged to feed you while you are arrested. ....Just sayin'.

I think the hardest games most people haven't heard of are: La mulana 1 La mulana 2 and World of Horror. A runner up is Diablo 2 Lod on hell. I want a la mulana 3. Also the upcoming dlc for Elden ring might be hard but I don't have a time machine nor is it June 21st yet.

100% the hardest game I ever played.. and I absolutely love it. It’s a perfectly crafted game imo but you have to sink a LOT of time into it to get good. There are so many things to think about as you play, precise movements and whip attacks, where to place your items and where/when you can move, what clever exploit you can use to easily beat a boss or get past a level.. and the list goes on. This game is extremely difficult but imo that’s what makes it fun and addictive. The difficulty makes it so rewarding to leave a level with good equipment, lots of health, and lots of bombs.

I think royal jelly being given after kappala is a good move. By that point you probably have a good number of the basic items it would give and bombs. You'd also probably have a good number of health but some sources chunk your health down by 10 and you can still get instakilled so it's not like your invincible even with 99 health

Dude you missed whole swathes of the game! Your analysis is pretty sound, but yeah, maybe you should do a update and do smouldering lake, the ancient king’s antechamber, the second roof area attached to the lift to the undead sniper and ‘nothing else’ and so on…. Also a lot of these comments read like bots, which is really odd (and not very kosher) though I get it, it’s now a very crowded genre: long retrospectives of these amazing games are becoming more and more common. Anyway, good luck with your channel mate. :)

None of you accurately diagnose the problem with Elden Ring or Fromsoftware. The actual problem is the combat is shit. Not just outdated but repetitive shit. Elden ring just exposed that. Great combat translates to any design. Fromsoftware is not good at combat which is why they used tighter areas to hide the bad combat. Get in a big open free area and its jarring how restrictive the combat really is.

Thanks a lot for the video! I would like to add a couple of ideas: the fact that there are only as many NPC types with minor differences is not a flaw as such, it's a theatrical method. They are "the crowd", merging into a solid mass with very few individual features. Feature, not a bug. Second, about the difficulty of navigating through the town and the sameness of the districts, especially the poor ones (and the fences, yesss, endless fences). I am sorry to say, but these are typical for provincial and outskirts-of-a-big-city townscape. Yes, you can literally get lost among exactly the same-looking buildings, damned useless fences starting and ending in the middle of nowhere... And there is very little of what we can call friendly or obvious city environment. Sad, but true.

Elden has the exact same glaring issue that Breath of the Wild did. It is waaaaaaaaay too much physical space. When you make the game world so large, all you are doing for yourself as a developer is making things way too difficult for yourself and also guaranteeing that people are going to get exhausted and bored playing your game, especially in terms of replay value. Cut the amount of catacombs/caves/mines in half or more, carve off huge chunks of land, and suddenly Elden Ring becomes a far more enjoyable experience. I still love the game but they could have cut the game size and cut-and-paste locales in half, made the remaining areas much more unique and detailed and bam! Could have been the greatest game of all time. Well, if they fixed the boss designs too. Bullcrap like Malenia, Maliketh, Elden Beast(at least give us Torrent for crap sake), Fire Giant, Astel, Godskin duo, Crucible Knights(they just feel unfair the first time you fight them and it only gets worse), Commander Nial, Gideon and his neverending barrage of spells...pretty much everything from Leyndell onwards just sucks, boss and area wise. I do love Radagon though. That guy is a boss.

Currently watching the video, gonna put time stamps to interesting stuff I learnt by myself or just funfacts that can be nice to know ! (I have 500h in total in both games, and I'm still bad xD So I'm passing down some knowledge I've got by watching the community or by trial-and-error on my own). Nice video with a lot of tips, also, by the way ! 4:12 - Doing it when you have one jump like that at the end of a level and have spare time helps practicing it without the fear of the ghost getting to you. But getting it consistently takes a long time, I still can't do it. 7:04 - Learnt that by myself. Once you master the physics of throwing stuff, it's really REALLY useful ! Can save you ropes in a lot of situations, and when you're low on health without ropes, it can save you too. 8:40 - It's actually really funny, but someone despises the climbing gloves SO MUCH they actually found a quilinn skip with the web gun. Nobody will use it, probably, but it's still a quirky thing to know ! xD 9:15 - Notice how he talks about the ghost with the ''She'' pronoun ? For those who don't know, it's a fun lil easter egg that was there since spelunky hd (Not sure for classic, haven't played it) where you can get the camera item and snap a photo of the ghost. It'll slow her down and she will pose for the photo with accessories that are clearly feminine. In spelunky hd, the ghost will have accessories that are obviously feminine (You'll understand why, if you check it out) and in spelunky 2, it's more like a traditional oriental culture ghost pose. 13:00 - Yang is an honestly under-used strategy. I use it when it's not too hard to do so (When he's not behind some shopkeeper for example. LOL). Reason behind it is, if you help him, you get an animal shop in 2-1 or 2-2 (Don't remember by heart, but around those levels) where Yang sells you back all 3 turkeys and 1 pair of ropes. I mean, can never say no to health, and when you want to finish the game, you slowly start to understand how much ropes and bombs are REALLY valuable and a lot of the time mandatory. After that, if you're a pacifist and have extra money, you can buy all of his stuff, or you can also steal or kill him. Pretty useful trick I learnt that saved my runs a whole lot when I could do it. 13:56 - Just something I find cute ! It's nice you put that in the video ! ^^ 16:23 - You have a few frames of invisibility when coming out doors. Use it to jump or whip directly against the enemy who aren't invisible. You can also just go back into the door directly. 26:01 - If you want to get into Tusk's palace (Without causing a scene), you need to get every item in that dice house. There's more item in that shop than any normal dice house too ! 29:10 - Spelunky music in general is always good, but in my opinion, on that one, HD has my heart. But Spelunky 2 music is also really good ! 30:27 - Only compass that actually shows you the exit in the cosmic ocean area. But since you're in temple, you won't be able to go to CO with the Ankh, so it really depends on which helps you the most. Also shows you the alien ''Base'' where there is the plasma canon, some lore (Shopkeepers), and an unlockable character if you haven't gotten it yet. Or you can be like me and use the shortcut and kill yourself in the void endlessly until you actually MIRACULOUSLY find it xD 31:34 - There's skeleton walls placed in a recognizable pattern (Changes each time, but it's easy to recognize) where he flies. Takes some time to see it and recognize it. 37:10 - Honestly in my opinion one of the coolest looking place in the game. I still can't clear it consistently tho. A tip I can give, is PREPARE YOURSELF to get LOADS of bombs to bomb most of your way out. 39:22 - Just 4 words : Pain in the ass. I hate that part in its entirety. Cleared both endings, need the CO ending, and MAN I hate that part. It screws over my runs 99% of the time. So, seriously, prepare yourself for that pain xD 39:56 - Approved. REALLY cool looking place, one of my favorites too ! Even if it's also deadly. Places I actually find good looking (Not in any particular order) - Temple, Tide pools, Neo Babylon, Sunken city, and CO. And shoutout to spelunky HD ice caves, my favorite place in HD (With honestly in my opinion, the best soundtracks of HD) Also sorry if my english isn't the best, english isn't my mother language ! Anyway ! Hope these can help people out ! If anyone has any other tips or things to say, don't hesitate to add them below ! ^^

I played it and loved how hard but naturally the game felt at throwing all this information but ultimately your death is based on how well you can control what to do next it took me hours to do but around 250 runs for me to “beat” the game i didn’t get to the cosmic Ocean (yet) so I’ve got work to do and my god the little tricks do play a lot into what you could do and what you now know you can do. For example whipping a dart trap to prevent an unbearable “unavoidable” hit and the climbing gloves stick to everything yes BUT whip to not stick 🤌 speed runners hold too much information that’s useful

Malenia Blade of Retribution lmfao, Godefroy the Grafted is like when you go to a local discount store to buy some knockoff brands of your favourite products... Yeah, this one hurts. 33:22 or mini-DSA in the Ringed City swamp? Shadows of Yharnam casually patrolling a regular nightmare area? How about out of the blue Ornstein in a Heide's Tower of Flame? Seriously, there isn't now and there wasn't before, enough critique you can put on the games you love, how the hell those npc-fans don't understand that?? "Praise the pointless" was a message left at the end of an empty corridor that you went on exploring nonetheless, lead by the nose with impeccable level design. You were actually surprised that the game, so well designed and dedicated to not wasting player's time has... played you. Message on the floor was never a critique but rather an expression of gratitude towards devs for respecting us. And also just a cheeky little message 😂

Fromsoft's tourists love having f^ck all to do besides taking screenshots, imagining they're a character in the next Vaati video 🤯 😂 Perhaps we should look at it like it's Witcher 3 but even then my criticism remains, it just shifts from the lack of difficulty and "zero stakes exploration" to other, more specific shortcomings of this "intricate Open World". Like poorly implemented, few and far between quests, NPCs that are just shadows of the fascinating and cryptic figures of DS1 and feel totally out of place - world is the size of the Continent but, yet again, we get same ol' tiny group of dead-already characters Miyazaki likes to present since Demons... why? Sure, it would be cool to compare the living World of W3 with Lands Between, if these lands weren't so flat and stagnant in comparison. Not to mention that Witcher's naturalistic looking caves were actually more impressive in 2015... when on the other hand, Fromsoft was perfecting their level design with the release of Bloodborne, even making a genious (imo) use of randomised content, introducing Chalices. Now those been turned it into Catacombs and I'm supposed to... not notice it?? wtf? Hey Wafe, check out "Elden Ring Dissected #1 - Fall Damage Explained" by illusory wall, if you haven't already. There are some "design choices" that still bind all From games together, surprisingly. (It's an amazing video! And yours as well, hah 😊)

Bosses roaming the world, mobs fighting in random skirmishes, npcs with actual quests, fractions. Interesting pvp systems and areas. Yeah, I imagined a lot during that year when we all waited for ER 😐

To me, it seems you play these games exclusively for bosses and combat. I think you get minimal value from exploration, especially considering your complaint about hollowknight. As for me, I value exploration, navigation, level design, enemy encounters, and secrets equally as much as I like bosses. I get as much satisfaction from finding an obscure secret as beating a boss in elden ring. So when I'm exploring the open world I'm constantly running into things that are valuable to me. When you go through the open world, you run into things that are not bosses or bosses that are reused, so you can't enjoy it.

What are you smoking dude, what level design? Where? It's mostly a painfully standard big open map. You are actually constantly punished with abysmal findings like crafting materials locked in a treasure chests. You literally walk to the edge of the world to discover nothing of any importance. To me it seems like Lands Between is most enjoyed by tourists who like to stare at painted postcards and from time to time, deal with the sporadic consequential gameplay elements like "navigation, level design, enemy encounters" that in case of Elden Ring exist only within legacy dungeons. Even in those, truly interesting level designs with a single bonfire and looping paths like Cathedral of the Deep, just don't exist anymore. Riding Torrent is fun and remains as my only joy of this open world. And the views, the views are nice 😮‍💨
