Dog training and Corrections..... The truth.
I was a bit confused about the tools/no tools part. In my everyday language use, a leash, a flat collar, a muzzle and so on are all called tools and every single +R trainer I ever met uses all of these, so I was confused until I realised that by tools you mean specifically aversive tools like teletact, choke collar and prong collar.
Thanks for the compliment! ^^
Ich liebe die Wasserparty hinten im Van! ^^
Wow. The mal's head never popped out of the box to just take a quick look at all. Not even once. Just head in the box the entire 5 minutes! 😯
Que lindo

Is that a k9 dog
This makes incredible sense 🤯
Great series! Only just found you all as trainers and really loving your methods. Also loving the Podcast! I’ve been wondering if you find barrier frustration on lead common and does letting strangers meet the puppies cause this as they get older and are not able to meet everyone?l they want too?
Thanks so much for the awesome video, and for making it available for us,
Probably this study-- LEARNING TO RESIST PAIN AND FEAR: EFFECTS OF ELECTRIC SHOCK BEFORE VERSUS AFTER REACHING GOAL by ALAN R. FEIRSTEIN AND NEAL E. MILLER You're welcome (if this is the correct study ;-) ).
If Ed Norton and Russel crowe had a baby it would be pat Stuart 😅 Great show, great point of view, would love to see u show with u Jonathan katz
hey, friend. why not consider other kinds of dog cages? we are a manufacturer of various kinds of pet cages in china, please someone needed, please contact me.
What kind of harness is that? Looks minimal and comfortable!
We just call it "hand feeding" in Germany, since they get their food mostly out of your hand instead of a bowl... Definitely sounds not as dramatic 😅
I was torn on which to pick, and I unfortunately returned the Gunner kennel. Maybe I got the wrong size as I felt the Gunner Kennel didn't provide enough ventilation and it's to confined for the use of a home kennel.-. I bought the true size for my dog's weight and height and felt it was still too confined. Impact kennel for Home use - I did upsize to give him more room. My Mal was far more comfortable in the impact kennel and I felt he was more relaxed instead of trying to dig his way out, drooling and obsessively barking. My Mal is a very obedient working dog and is used to being crated. Maybe I need to upsize on the Gunner Kennel. After hearing your information, I wouldn't mind trying the Gunner kennel again for transport purposes only. During Transport /Airplane will this kennel get enough ventilation, I worry about heat stroke as this kennel is thick and insulated ( not a negative- very well constructed) does it draw in the heat?. Just wanted to share my thoughts. This is a great video and great Highlights on each kennel! Thank you Pat for sharing the information - I feel I might try again
The Level of Consistency in his technique that every catch, both Leg and Bicept remained the same. This guy will 4ever be a Legend to anyone who wants to know what a perfect catch looks like
What about conditioning puppy to a collar, whom never wear one before?
Impact could coat the metal with silicone for noise
Dog Daddy sent me.
Nice!
Too bad they are both wayyyyy over priced smh. Worthless kennel companies taking advantage of dipsticks lol
In loading the clicker, I feed from my hand as I want my dog's focus to be on me, thus, I avoid tossing food on the ground or floor. For the first few sessions I stand still while I click & treat. My object is for the dog to understand as quickly as possible that a click means a treat, not necessarily that the dog needs to run around after a treat.
As someone who owns a dog who’s prone to over arousal I completely get this Lol
Danish?
It has always been my dream to own a PSA dog and now that I have retired my SDIT I can finally work towards it ❤
For the protection work, can you tell me why the dogs are taught to bight the arm that doesn't not hold the weapon? In a real world confrontation, could that not result in the dog getting shot or stabbed if it goes for say the left arm when the right hand is holding the knife or gun?
Great chat, full of gems
Great chat
They are coming along so nicely! Why is a noisy grip considered undesirable?
Hilarious he grabbed the tug. Dogs filling out nice, is there any reason you chose 2 male puppies or do you have a preference for any reason? one other question I wanted to ask is how you would go about teaching an off switch to a very high drive puppy.
Great work. Any reason why you don't tidy up the article indication on a back tie?
interested to hear why you ask that - is using a backtie something you have done before? TBH I've only dropped food on the article kinda like a focus box to reward fixation and accept whatever the dog gives (in my case it's a freeze) then reward with a terminal marker. do oyu use a backtie to agitate a little more and build drive to the article?
@@benphilippi9325 when I say back tie, not in the traditional sense. I am referring to a very short lead on a very short track 3-5 metres where you can control the dog and not allow(within reason) any undesirable behaviour. If the dog shows any interest in the article, there should be no forward movement. walk back on the track and put the dog over the article again. I will do 5 of these type tracks in a row if I start seeing this behaviour. He quickly realises that he can't go forward without giving me the down. Its not a cure all but it definitely works with my Mal.
Really appreciate all these real and educational videos. The way you both explain and show the progression and problems is admirable. I'm pretty sure that's a lot of work put in every post. Big fan of both of you, TCP and Pat's recent course, which I fortunately acquired.
This is super cool. Someone had to do it. I'm really excited to see the process develop. I have a special one. Although she's a gsd. Mentality is a lot like a mal. She's all go and good around kids family. Your videos have been a huge part of her success. Your tactics are unique. you have great analogys to go along with the load of information. Im eventually doing your bootcamp and before time runs out. Thank you man.
I think the audio got messed up, might have to switch it to mono :)
i like that you showed the start of you training them to be able to train two at once… i have 2 dogs that i’ve been trying to train but can’t stand when one is in the crate inside screaming. i’ve wanted to try to have both of them outside to do training sessions with them 1 after the other. would love to hear more about your process in future episodes!
Yet another question - wondering if you reuse tracks for the dogs and if that could be a reason for one dogs faster progression. If not reusing do you lay them all out before the session so some are aged more? I'm sure you already thought of this but gotta leave something for the algo boost hey.
Hi Jas! What a great video. Watching these pups grow up has been amazing. Do you think you can have an older dog learn how to relax like that on your lap?
Good info on having the two together but not interacting with each other. Wished I would have thought about the earlier with mine.
absolutely amazing jas. was awsome i feel for people to watch just how much effort goes into training multiple dogs in a pac environment just learning manners around there home. also the tracking is coming along in leaps and bounds. was a great watch and looking forward to next week. keep up the great work buddy your amazing ❤🎉
Great video thanks Jaz.
that shaping window distinction is gold. I didn't realise I have the same issue with my boys article indications.
Jas - with your use of a nay reward marker - would be cool to hear what that is. like a warning then if they comply they get a +r? or like i have is a warning then +p if they continue. you made me think :)
Jas and Pat: thank you for putting this together!! The time you take out of your busy days to answer people questions is well received! I hope one day you raise a pair of Border Collies!! I know this series is for working dogs but no one ever shows how to raise one properly and they end up being pets more often than not yet with the body and mind of a crackhead working dog. This would be awesome and I would totally buy that series for whatever price you requested!! 😅
