I know Burlington Road, I had friends who lived there! Bedford Place has changed quite a bit over the years since I first went there. The chip shop is still there so it's not all bad though! 🙂

It's fairly quiet some evenings but plenty of cafes and restaurants still open till late. This wasn't filmed at the height of the season so I guess it can get quite busy then. I never go in those months as it's too hot for me!

It's certainly changed a lot in that area. In fact what I didn't show were all the hundreds of high rise flats, so I might pop down there sometime and do another video of the things I left out! I remember how it used to be. The whole of Southampton has changed considerably over the last 15 years, and not always for the better!

Thank you! Yes, Calella can be a very relaxing place, and can be busy too, depending on the time of day! I'm looking forward to going there again and to make some more videos too! 🙂👍

@@sierralovesdogs That's true, no copyright problems! This was filmed in May of this year, and it rained 5 days out of the 7, hence all the puddles! ☔

I'm not quite sure with this market, in fact I've seen at least 4 different markets in Calella. In addition to this one, there was one along the main street (in front of McDonalds, and opposite the Amaika Hotel), one in the large carpark near the police station/museum, and one along the beach walk. The beach walk definitely had lots of used objects/antiques etc. Not sure how often these markets are on, some I think are weekly though. I hope this helps a bit! 👍🙂

I used to live in Shirley too, when I first moved to Southampton, so know it very well. It's changed a bit over the years, but it's still the same old Shirley! Think I might make a video on Freemantle next, if it doesn't rain! 👍🙂

Thank you for your comment. I like Pineda de Mar, and as you say it's very quiet compared to Lloret de Mar. It's a shame the weather wasn't very good when I filmed there, the weather was great the following day but I was then filming Santa Susanna! Hopefully I'll make another one in better weather.

@@pbcreative6388 L' Espiga D' Or is also a jewel of a coffee bar, to relax and forget the stress of traveling. I did a little chat with a very friendly Indian or Pakistani shop owner there in the center and left with things I didn't need ;-) Impossible to resist...

@@JohanTheunissen yes, I noticed that when I passed through a month ago, I was quite shocked how little there was left of the beach!

I lived nearby for many many years and just a couple of years ago moved to the peace and quiet of Ireland! I miss Hampshire and the choice of shops and facilities that we were so used to; but not the noise of the traffic!

@@rh8915 Thank you for your comment, I lived there for a few years and now only live just up the road so I do pass by regularly. The traffic in Hampshire as a whole has got a lot lot worse I'm afraid, so many thousands of new houses being built all around Southampton and the surrounding areas. That's progress I suppose (!). But apart from the traffic, it's still a nice place! I envy your peace and quiet though! 🙂👍

Thank you for your comment, I personally liked the hotel - apart from the food - but for anyone with mobility issues there could be some problems. If there were shops a little nearer, that would help. I'll definitely do more hotel reviews (this is only my second one!). 👍🙂

I agree with you, it's a wasted opportunity. It's still a nice place for a walk (on a sunny day!), but could be so much nicer! 👍🙂

@@pbcreative6388 Old Teguise town is stunning and untouched with a beautiful church and we always make a point of visiting every time we go to Costa Teguise. Enjoyed Calero but only big enough for a day visit we thought.

Agreed, Puerto Calero is a tiny place, I was only there about an hour and a half, just long enough to make my TH-cam video and grab a coffee! I'll definitely be visiting more places there and making more videos - watch this space! 👍😎

Yes, I agree it does have a melancholic feel, and more peaceful than the other resorts along that coast. I've also been to Sant Pol de Mar which I also like. I'm planning to visit later this month so will make some more TH-cam videos. This one I did on Pineda de Mar has become my 4th most popular video (out of nearly 70!), so it goes to show that people want to see what it's like! Next time I'll film along the coastal walk as well, as it was a little windy one the day I filmed this one. 🙂

I personally really like Pineda de Mar, it's a lot smaller than Calella where the hotel Maritim is situated. The seafront walk at Pineda is really nice. The day that I made the video was rather windy so unfortunately I didn't get to show much of the walk, but I am visiting the area again in April so hope to make another video then. I've stayed in two hotels in Pineda, the Sumas Hotel Stella & Spa and the second one was the Aqua Hotel Promenade & Spa. Both highly rated on Tripadvisor and I thought both were good with good food etc. If you like a little more peace and quiet then I would suggest Pineda de Mar out of all the resorts along that coast. Most have a train station so you can visit all the others at your leisure. I tend to stay in Calella more due to the fact there's such a huge choice of things to see and lots of shops and cafes etc. But if I ever win the lottery, I would love to buy a place in Pineda de Mar! Am planning more videos in the area soon, please feel free to make any suggestions! 👍🙂

I agree, Woolston has changed a lot over the years, in fact I drove through there yesterday and it's amazing how many high-rise buildings are there now, just near the Lidl shop. I ought to go down there again and make another short video showing that part of the town. As soon as the weather improves here I will try to do just that 👍🙂

I grew up in Eastleigh, it sometimes gets a bad press but I always feel at home when I visit there 🙂

Yep, a Sainsburys! I can't afford Waitrose so I go to Sainsbury's as it's also got an underground car park so you don't get wet taking your shopping to the car! It rains all the time here it seems! @@tristancan

Hi, it's certainly changed a lot over the years, just like the rest of the local area. I live ten minutes up the road so visit now and then if I can find a parking space! ☺☺
