Peak district MTB-Tasty tech vs Slippery slop
A group ride over xmas,Started out on the tasty tech ride then a few of us seperated once on win hill to go and ride some of the off piste stuff, not something i usually ride and not really that familliar with those trails so was a good learning curve in slippery conditions.
I really need to hit some of these more often when i ride out here.

White peak mtb cruise-Where did summer go?
มุมมอง 3313 หลายเดือนก่อน
I made a last minute plan to go out and ride in the white peak, somewhere ive not really been in the past. Not really the greatest idea ive ever had. I downloaded a route from the web and put my faith in it. In short the weather was dire, way too much road on the route for my liking and a lack of sleep and non exhistent views made for a non enjoyed ride. I was glad when this one was over with www....

Just two different rides of the fantastic cutgate in the peak district in different conditions linked together. Joining from slippery stones at the very far end of Derwent reservoir, riding over to langsett and then looping around langsett reservoir and back up the cutgate to slippery stones. #cutgate #mtb #emtb #goprohero10 #peakdistrict #peakdistrictmtb #haibike #capcut
First time riding in the yorkshire dales mtb
มุมมอง 5054 หลายเดือนก่อน
First time riding the yorkshire dales so just wanted to follow a route from the dales bike centre,as its quite isolated we didnt really fancy getting lost. Starting at the dales bike centre reeth,we chose their great pinseat and apedale route, but also added bunton hush loop into the mix. ended up doing around 33 miles and 5000ft of climbing. www.strava.com/activities/12179459070 www.dalesbikece...

Some cool footage there mate. I need to get back out around Ladybower. Gimme a shout when you're next on the analogue mate ☺
@@Mark_Page_MTB Will do mate,I need to get back out on the analogue.Ive been cheating way too much lately 😂
@@GDCridesMTB As long as you're having fun mate, that's all that matters 😊
Slick😂😂 ... super day
Slicker than slick on the last few trails.A good day out👍
What a sketchy day out that was 😅😅😅

Great little place
@@chuckmorrismtb It's not my fave place to ride at all but it's localish to me so I ride over that way sometimes. improvements are happening all the time to the trails. Thanks for subscribing👍
Mint little run off win hill that 👌
Hi, great video, I'm ouckimg up my first ebike in two weeks and I'm going to be mainly riding in the Pesk District, mine will have a 750wh battery, how much battery/range did you have left after your 28 miler and also what road and where abouts do you come out, at the end of your final descent?
@@scottunderwood3481 cheers for watching,on this particular ride with a 720w battery I had about 10 miles range left on the display but the reality is you would probably get about 5 due to the terrain. Most I've done in the peaks is 35 miles with 5700ft elevation.lots of variables to take into account eg,pace, climbs, battery temp, tyre pressures all effect the range. As for the final descent that was the screeming mile which drops you out onto the road that goes around the ladybower dam near fairholmes.I linked the ride in the description to Strava so feel free to have a look at that and give me a follow if you want to look at other peak district rides or if you want any more info👍
@GDCridesMTB Thanks for the very helpful insight, if i can get low 30s in the Peaks, I'll be very happy. Cheers.👍
@@scottunderwood3481 you should be able to get low 30s but depends on how you ride.If you blast everywhere in turbo etc it's great but won't last all day.I ride mine in the lowest mode I'm happy with only turning it up when I really need too.I like to try to extend the ride as much as possible
Ill be in eco as much as possible and like you say, just turn it up when i need it. Whats the genetal rule of thumb for riding in the Peaks, do most riders stick soly to the Bridleways or do folk just ride any trail and footpath at their own discretion?r@@GDCridesMTB
@scottunderwood3481 I'd say most rides are a mix of bridleways, footpaths byways with a few non marked trails along the way.Best places to look are Strava heatmaps, komoot, specific groups on Facebook etc
good day out that, need to do another one soon!
@@tristanshouse Was good, will get another one in soon👍
Nice video, the. Iris look amazing, can I ask what bike you’re riding please?
@@MentalAboutOutdoors thanks for watching. Its my fav area to ride is the peak district.Im riding a haibike all mtn 4 in this video.👍
@@GDCridesMTB Ace, thanks, i've done quite a few hikes around the peaks and e-mountain biking is something i'm looking into at the moment and i could see myself exploring the peaks on an E-MTB, what year is your bike, does it use the Yamaha motor or bosh system? thanks again
@@MentalAboutOutdoors it's has the Yamaha pwx3 motor and a 720w battery.it definitely flattens the climbs in the peaks that's for sure
Looks nice😊
Next time your coming along.you would enjoy it 👍
Nice one pal, deffo hit some of the same trails as me 👍🏼
@@IanCran76 cheers, that was my exact thought when I watched your vid.👍
@ Aye some good trails for sure mate 👍🏼
I need to return here too. Broke my wrist last time being clipped in and had to ride back to Penistone on the TPT to get to the van!
@@Y24JAW It's definitely a place where I'm out of my depth and I'm not ashamed to admit it but keep giving it a go every now and then .It sucks when you have to ride back injured, done it myself in the past rid back 18 miles to car with a broken collarbone.painful🫣. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
@ I put my falls and fails in my videos. I can look back and see what I could have done differently and learn from it. I’m not doing the silly stuff anymore now, got responsibilities
Great video, I’ve been meaning to return for a quick whizz round it looks a little overgrown and unmaintained since I did it 12 years ago though.
@@Y24JAW it was a first time for me and I'm afraid it will be the last.It was close to where I was staying in hawkahead, loads of potential within the landscape for some epic trails but I was left wanting.Anyway thanks for watching the video and I hope when you head back you enjoy it more than I did.👍
The bridleways there are cracking though 😊
I was disappointed with the trail centre. All that forest to go at but the trail was👎. A few of the bridleways whilst I came across weren't too bad during my few days in the area Thanks for watching 👍
Love it😊😊
Your coming next time❤️
@@GDCridesMTB No thanks 💞
I’m just watching this video on my television and it’s a cracking video pal, I’ve ridden this area many times but I’ve never been along the section that starts at 9.11 and finish’s at 14.57, it looks an epic section I’d really love to try, you don’t by any chance have a GPX file for this ride do you please mate 🙏👍
@@yorkneytrailrider1751 hi Mate,it's a great section to ride, you get very close to the edge and it's easy to clip the wall like mark did in the video.ive uploaded it to komoot now www.komoot.com/tour/1892230720?ref=aso If you go on the highlights and find one that says ride the ridge, click on it and the location should become clear to you.👍
@@yorkneytrailrider1751 it also features in this video but was done on the ⚡⚡ th-cam.com/video/SCxU5Qa43H0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QJhCfRRbh6QS9T-F
Your not going to believe this but I’ve following you on Komoot for a while now, what a plank I am 🤣🤣 thanks for putting this ride on there, I’ve saved it and liked it too mate, much appreciated and I’m watching the other video you posted on my television as I’m typing this now, cheers buddy 🙏🙏
The Ridge looks awesome and scary too and I’ve watched a few videos where people have clipped the wall, I’ll have to keep my eyes open on this section but looking at the wall, I’m not so good with heights these days 🫣🫣👍👍
@@yorkneytrailrider1751 once your on that ridgeline it doesn't look so high.Enjoy it when you go and do it👍
