    What brakes do these shifters work with? I have them on my bike and I’m using some disc callipers, but the levers feel very loose and I’m not getting the brake power and response I was expecting. I’m not sure if it’s the levers, the pads, or the rotors.

    A couple notes on these components: First, the Tektro R559 brakes are their long reach version. Don't buy this model unless you need the long reach. Tektro has two other shorter reach models that will work better on many applications. Second; I bought the Micronew 7 speed brifter to use with their 7 speed rear derailleur, and found that I could not get the indexing to work well with a 7 speed freewheel. Each shift moved the rear derailleur a little to far for the 5 mm spacing of a seven speed freewheel. So I tried them with a six speed freewheel and the indexing is great. So there is a problem with the cable pull ratio in one of the components. If the seven speed brifter works well for this guy, it is probably because he is not using it with the Micronew rear derailleur. Third; if the Micronew brifter and rear derailleur work well with a six speed freewheel, they should also work with a five speed freewheel, since the cog spacing is 5.5 mm on both five and six speed freewheels.

    Thank you! REQUEST: make a video where you convert a derelict car into a bike shed in the cheapest way possible. This will be useful for people in apartments with car park spaces and no bike park spaces. You will need to pay for a towing company to bring you the car, but maybe you can sell parts to help pay for the costs.

    Those bike in a box are not adjusted from the factory usually, you need to do a full tune up, brakes, bearings/grease, chain tension, etc.

  • @daijoubu4529
    @daijoubu4529 ปีที่แล้ว

    The drivetrain "crunchyness" is because the chain is too tight, the freewheel and chainring are not perfectly round, you need to find the position where it's tight and losen/re-tighten the rear wheel, rotate and repeat until youve found the sweet spot
