The lead aircraft carrier at 2:10 looks like one of the RN Maintenance carriers HMS Ocean or HMS Unicorn. They were scRapped in 1960. Unicorn was tied up in Devonport prior to her scrapping.

Phone number on shop at 0:20 is 'Ash 4576 which I believe is Ashton Under Lyne. Car at 0:36 has a Lancashire plate 'TE' and is a Ford Cortina introduced in 1962.

Early 1970s. Wide 'bell-bottom jeans and busses have the white London Transport roundel logo

No footage of the bridge lifting, or of the trains going down the street to the docks station :(

Roughly around the first time I went as a youngster with parents, grandparents and my sis, I'd be about 8 or thereabouts. We stayed in a harbour flat along by the King's Arms and what is now Bennett's. I still remember the two parallel roads pre-pedestrianisation and going across to the beach on my own faithfully every day to watch Punch and Judy! In more recent years, I've taken my own kids - now they are both adults but I still bring my old mum here twice a year.
