do you find that where you erase the eraser leaves some residue stuff that interferes with the paint. it would seem that the texture of the paper would get filled in some.

I'm so excited that I discovered you on New Year's Day. Five years ago, at 70, I took a few local community college art classes, and then discovered I love watercolor. But where I live there are not opportunities to learn more. I've learned a lot from different utubes, but yours is the first that is so thorough and at just what I need right now. I'm so looking forward to a lot of growth in my watercolor this year!

I was a pro with the fan brush when I painted with oils!! Yrs ago,I do watercolors now and I can't get anything with it!!! I think the one u are using has square ends on it! Would that help if I get one like yours??? Thank you for your time! Sandy Stokes

man, I've been a subscriber for quite some time now, over the years I've always wished I could paint like you but I can't seem to get past my need to make every painting frame worthy despite knowing I have to paint to make the mistakes I'll learn from, I've got a ton of supplies and various mediums to attempt it with but I still can't make myself to just get going so i can get through the rough not-so-good phase so I can move on to the amateur phase and gain the necessary knowledge needed to become a better watercolor painter, I'm just not the biggest nature painter either cause it feels like all my attempts at sketching scenery to paint looks the same, unlike yours that are all awesome and varied 😊 sorry so long I tend to write whatever comes to mind while I'm writing LMFAO ✍️🏽 thanks 4 all the advice and tips, much appreciated bruv, take care & stay safe!! ✌🏽 ✌🏽

@dominique Don’t feel qualified enough to have an opinion. I’m a noob, so not sure how to crit it. Actually. I do wish we could get a better look at the reference photo. All I see is a black and white silhouette.

Great tutorial, Chris! Btw, if you want your phone screen to stay on and you have an IPhone, go to Settings>Display & brightness >Auto Lock > Never.

Love your style, using your book, the only thing that annoys me is the fact we don't have the photo or model you're starting from. Am I the only one who finds it frustrating?

Hi Chris, thank you so much for another gorgeous painting. I'm really pleased with my effort that I did on an A5 sheet of watercolour paper for my journal. Love how you show us the whole process as well as that your camera images include the colour mixing on your palette.

Pretty cool. At 1:08:30 the sketch paint looks a certain way, then you say you will blow dry it, but when you come back, the color is very different - you must have done some major color adjustment off camera, correct? The sky has more blue, and there is way more green in the middle.... I don't see how that was achieved simply by blow-drying!
