Jerry vale (pretend you don't see her) goodfellas
Ooo I see you brought ya butter face goomba tonight, aye salute
Love em or hate em. Goodfellas is one of the the best movies ever made.
Great walk with wonderful views ❤️
Best place for a great walk 😃
Lovely beach on a beautiful day with dogs for their run about ❤️
This is the best scene in Goodfellas, in my opinion. All of the Goodfellas are mesmerized , as they should be. Jerry Vale had the ability to mesmerize even the toughest of hoodlums. After all they are Goodfellas. And Goodfellas all had hearts deep down inside them.
All my ancestors live within this song🇮🇹
Very well-directed movie!
The best heartbreak song
I was introduced to Jerry after jr high school class via afternoon TV, MIKE DOUGAS SHOW..truly a 1sr class performer!
Strange that an Indian fella likes Jerry Vale!
Прекрасный , волшебный голос!!!!
Joe - scariest villain ever
Jerry Vale was born Gennaro Louis Vitaliano in the Bronx, New York, to Italian immigrant parents, and grew up in the Wakefield section of the Bronx which at the time was composed mainly of Italian-American families. In high school, to earn money, Vale took a job shining shoes in a barbershop, singing while he worked. His boss, Vito Veneziano, liked the sound so well that he paid for music lessons for the boy. Vale started singing in high school musicals and at a local nightclub. Still a teenager, he left school to work in a factory as an oiler alongside his father. Vale's early nightclub performances led to additional shows in the early 1950s, including one lasting for three years at the Enchanted Room, a club in Yonkers, New York. When Paul Insetta (road manager for singer Guy Mitchell and hit songwriter) heard him there, he signed him to a management contract and further coached him. Insetta arranged for Vale to record some demonstration records of songs he'd written, and he brought them to Columbia Records. Guy Mitchell introduced Vale to Mitch Miller, then head of A&R at Columbia Records. Vale signed a recording contract, with Insetta as his manager for many years to come.
Since I have seen an in-depth review of Goodfellas, I think this song is to show that Henry is no longer enjoying mafia life as much as he was before.
@00.02 What does Frank (frozen guy) say?
Look at the faces of the Wise Guys. That's all you know how they feel about his song....
Scorsese used Vale again in a crucial scene in The Irishman, wonderful song selection and incredibly crafted scenes
Epic scene, it sets such a tone
I regard Vale as better than Sinatra and Martin. Unpopular opinion I know, but I said what I said.
I love this movie so much, i watch it at least once a year
What a beautiful song, huh? What a voice! And I’m a guy that listens to all music, Zeppelin, Ozzy, Techno, Country ect ect.
Is that Little Stevie, lip syncing?
R I P Jerry Vale .
WOW bro you cant lie the women in this scene are so beautiful.
I love how Joe Pesci dictates to his beautiful date what to say and not say. He had earlier told Henry that the parent of the Jewish girl he wanted to date didn't want her to go out with an Italian "in this day and age!" Yet he didn't support his date's comment about "that Swedish girl" (May Britt) going for Sammy Davis Jr.
Henry's the only one who gets it
Even these Wise Guys respect Jerry Vale. What a voice.
This scene proves, we're still animals. But the song give a chance...
How did they do that night to day shot?
Jerry Vale >>>> today's shitty mainstream artists
Family had the side hoes out
BTW Jerry Vale was a hood superstar and very beloved. I remember the old timers always talking about him being a good kid!
Bro the soundtrack choices in general were EPIC! But yes this one and the use of CREAM with the ISO on DeNiro was mind blowing. Honestly it still hits me this day and I’m 54 y’all and was in college when this dropped 😂.I don’t even want to talk if seeing with others like my ppls you feel me.
0:25 "smile and pretend to be gay" 🎶😂😂😂 huh??????
gay = happy, joyful, dumbass
The soundtrack of this film… 😮 💯
Carbone’s girl!
My daughter doesn't like it , she says it is too old fashioned !, Lol
Why I feel like 😢🥹😩 when I hear this beautiful 🎶???
What a Beautiful Song Jerry Valle Performance is spectular Amazing Amazing.
This guy had one of the best tenor voices ever , - his voice along with the mesmerized expressions on the peoples faces makes this one of the best scenes in the movie !!!
Wow I Miss him so much….
Is that really Jerry Vale?Lip syncing his song? If then, well that's great
This movie soundtrack makes it a comfort place
This song hits everyone who has loved and lost. we have lived this song, and for a short time, in this movie, we are lead to believe these monsters who kill for a living, are human. they are not. they only remember when they were.
Iconic
Rest in peace Ray, your legacy will forever goes on with this masterpiece.
His girlfriend in the scene passed away years ago.
0:25-0:30 Y'all seriously gonna pretend that part was not funny 🙄 SMFH The sense of humor is dead in the sensitive time.
Lmaoo what?
This scene and this song still makes me tear up. This is some real shit. The passion in Jerry Vale plus the expressions of the viewers. The way the camera pans from behind. One of the best scenes in any movie. The song absolutely captures and makes the moment in this movie. And for those who actually dissect what the song says. Wow, can’t we all relate. Thank You Jerry.
Even Tommy is speechless during this. A violent sociopathic thug is sitting there mesmerized by the pure vocal talent of Jerry Vale.
