I’ve heard the position of the mounting bolts are the same but at some point they went from M8 to M10. 2004 I think you’ll be ok but definitely research it 👊🏼

Getting closer now that I’ve got some of the discontinued parts, now it’s just about finding time to film & edit the videos. Slowly slowly I’ll get there 👊🏼

That’s some really useful info cheers! That hopefully widens my search for parts. I’ve got the 2005 engine to fit the 2001 frame by literally just changing the mounting bolts and bracket 👍🏼

@@ducaveli yes, the question will be the exhaust, maybe the exhaust flange angle is different im not sure, when you build it up you will se if it aligns, if not just bend it slightly. When you are at it buy a 38mm keihin carb for her, and if you can find one buy a cr250 airbox and boot and you have yourself a rocket!

I have 3 (2 and 1/2) 1989 cr125s I bought in pieces for to much money. I already had a 1990 cr125 that was a ride away from blowing up so it was just the project I didn't need to get. Parts are pretty interesting on these things. I built a 1999 engine with an 89 transmission for the good one. I got a set of forks and wheels off an 87 cr500 for next to nothing. Radiators off a 96 cr125. I just hoped the parts would fit and they did. Finding the parts is hard so I used 90-99 engine stuff because it's the easiest to find and the internet said it's pretty good.

The sad bit is the bike isn’t finished yet so it hasn’t been tested. But when I used that paint on sneakers it was really durable and didn’t flake off. Give it a go!

Well I can tell you that I haven’t made any mods by cutting. I’ve got a tail tidy by Competition Werkes and the SC project race exhausts which are shorter than stock

Not sure exactly. It’s the stock header pipes which I think are 46mm ?? and then SC supply the slip ons and link pipes.

@@trx250rpuma4 I did some more research, 04 was the only year that had the servo power valve, 05-07 they go back to the governor and no cable

It’s a 2005 transmission, so basically the whole engine will be 05/07 and the rolling chassis is 00/01

Yes, I think the 90s ones were m8 and the later ones m10. The ones I have seen to be the right diameter and length

Wow that’s a real collection of didn’t parts! Def getting there. I know the radiators I just need to get a 2into1 joint to make it work. Carb I think will be ok, and exhaust might need the mounts moved but should be good. It’s power valves holding me up at the mo, can’t find none anywhere!

I’ve had good success with angelus on genuine leather, not used it on leatherette, that could be the reason it didn’t bond. Also when I’ve used it on new sneakers I wipe it down with acetone to remove the waxy top layer, maybe leatherette has something similar?

The back plastic? Do you mean the number board? Yeh the pryme Mx kit is a bracket that goes on the top triple to mount a later number board and a template to make new mounting holes for a modern mudguard. Check out Cameron niemela’s channel or pryme Mx website cos the info is 👌🏼

Ahh got it! I’ve fitted the rest of the plastics in my last video. The rest of the plastics are still the 2001 which matches this bike so no bracket, no restyle kit, just a mix of polisport and ufo so I could get all red 🤙🏼🤙🏼

I would try the 59-60 IMO. I’m 59.5 and it fits great. What you’ll find if you were a helmet that you’re on the upper limit of is that due to the shapes all being different you might get pressure points in 1 or 2 areas even though the rest of the helmet fits. That’s what it’s like with Shoei for me. But maybe take some expert advice. Best of luck 🤘🏼

@@ducaveli Haha! I did ride mine once, eventually. On a sunny day, dry track during an evo/oldtimer day. It was my masterpiece! :) I had the graphics made by "MBX-graphics" (also UK) After seeing some pics online of an almost identical build. But it was a long process of e-mailing back and forth before I was satisfied with the kit. Good quality though, thin material and shiny finish.
