Just want to commend the power of the old Peugeot 404 pickup en it,s rugged reputation

my pickup is the same orange color and RHD from S. Africa but now in California. I did think about turbo but you are right, there isn't very much room on that side of the engine. is this engine much more powerful than the original xd88? My mechanic wanted to do the engine swap like you did but I wanted to keep the column shift so decided to rebuild the original engine. I think my box is a bit different to the european 404 picks up and maybe different to yours?. I read some were made in Mozambique?

What engine do you have in this one? We, as Peugeot family, never bought the 505's and onwards, since the build quality was not as good under SIGMA. These 505'snever came with diesel engines here in SA. Only 2.0 petrol in different states of tune.

Love the blue color! My father had a 505 diesel wagon here in the US. In fact he had to buy another when he couldn't get parts for the first one. A white one and a brown one, automatics. Where did you get your hat? I need one like that.

Tens tempo e paciência para ser metódico e ao mesmo, no meio do cansaço ou da doença, trocar a lâmpada, apontar o farol, mudar a roda e encontrar o furo. Vomitaste em frente à câmara as três equivalências de pressão. Bravo! Só te esqueceste de mostrar a cara virado para a luz, na despedida. What is the socket size on harmonic balancer? Great video BTW

What do you listen for when doing it this way and how do you know when it's right? On the video i can't really hear any difference in sound of the engine. Doesn't the injection timing change a little bit for each cylinder if you adjust the pressures?

Is this fuel pump same on xd90 engine?

I took my dpcR 844 pump apart i foundation out why it not started and the solenoid not cutting off the fuel the engine oil was thin as water., front seal of the pump was gone ! Diesel shops charge 700 euro repair cost ! But with your video.s its makes it better undestandable ! Engine is xd3t and is in my Daf 400 van (ldv 400)

Hello, I always follow your reports about the engine with great interest. I have a question that you might be able to answer? Are the screw attachment points from the engine block to the clutch bell identical on all XD engines? So those from the XD2, XD2S, XD3, XD3T? I can't find any information there, maybe you have the knowledge? Best regards Dan

Have you noticed any difference in coolant circulation with the different kinds of aftermarket or original pumps? Here in holland the pumps range from €50 to €300. every impeller looks different. I bought a cheaper one to replace the worn original one but keep having issues with cooling in my boat, feels like it isn't flowing enough coolant. are the pumps for XD(P)88 any different compared to XD2/3?

Hello Mr charles, i want to thank you first for the nice trip, and the good places, my question today is: you know moteur renault 1. 9 disel have a lot problems about Engine head overheating. And each time He wiped the engine head, until its thickness was reduced, so he put two gaskets on the engine head, one of them metal and the other regular, so that the metal was on the side of the engine head so that no sound would occur. What do you think?

Thanks for replying to my Question about the XD88 in the video, I also read the reply on my comment. Cleared it up for me I'm pretty much done on the cylinder head so I'm going to put the engine back together next saturday. I enjoy watching your videos on the old peugeot engines. I am from the Netherlands so sometimes I can also understand when you speak Afrikaans.

Hi there, do you keep the valve clearance on 0.25 for ever? My manual says to adjust to .25mm for inlet and .35mm for exhaust after replacing the head gasket and after first retightening. Only after 1200km's it says to adjust back to normal spec. But i am not sure all that is neccesary. I have a 1972 indenor(xdp4.88) in my pleasure craft.
