Renaissance Station | How it works from Alien: Romulus
This video animation explains how the Renaissance station works from horror director Fede Álvarez's Alien: Romulus. Most of the movie takes place inside this derelict space station, where the young colonists must face Xenomorphs and Facehuggers in order to survive.
The Renaissance station is split into two modules: The Remus Station and Romulus Station.

    for colonisation effort they could entirely replace antimatter engine with laser based sail only, the laser is installed both in pandora and earth, minimize the weight for the ship and maximize the payload, they could send ten thousand passenger in one trip using only one ship because there's no heavy engine, just sail and cargo, with this method they could make more ships and sending more people exponentially, millions in few months is possibility

    The Radiators glowing red hot for 2 weeks is false .. in reality it would be longer..and the sail unfolding is BS cause the jameswebb telescope uses tennis size solar panel.. and the scientist said its not only hard to open it up without one mistake ..but to fold it back up would be impossible in 0g .

    i think the ISV might surpasses the star destroyer!!! atleast for me. they don't have any reasons for equiping it with weapons but a orbital configuration would be pretty op and pretty cool.

    Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I love big eerie things that float in the sky, and the NOMAD is just that. When I first watched the Creator in theaters, I instantly fell in love with the NOMAD's design and the sound effects that the large targeting beam emitted. And I love that you made this cool presentation about it! I also see that you made other videos like this about Dune, Avatar, and Romulus, and I will definitely be checking those out!

    • @アイスクリーム-u8s

      Why would the speed they're travelling at matter? It's a constant speed with no acceleration at that point and they're in a vacuum so there's no air resistance either.

    Quick note on travel time: the ship needs to accelerate and deacelerate. The official book states the engines could accelerate the ship at 1,5g from that i calculated that 3303,5 days are spent accelerating and deaccelerating (if you presume it accelerates to 0.7c abd then deaccelerates again) which is about 9 years edit: i didnt watch the video completely, didnt see the acceleratipn part with the laser edit 2: the deacceleratiok wich just the 1,5g engines would still take 4,5 years, not the stated 5,5 months

    I find it funny it's equipped with all kinds of armaments to destroy everything down on Earth, but has zero self-defense capability. The movie could have ended with it taking down the shuttle Taylor's in by firing something, anything but they just managed to land perfectly fine on Nomad.

    Three engine system would be much more stable than two engines. Perhaps the artist chose two engines because they looked cooler and even if a science consultant had second thoughts about it, it was too late to change the design or Cameron chose looks over the engineering.

    So what happens if a large enough piece of debris knocks the mirror shields out of alignment? Also, how are these ISV’s structurally able to withstand atmosphere if they were built for spacefaring, because in the movie the cable wasn’t miles long?

    • @_martian101
      @_martian101 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      simple, it can withstand 1,5G for 6 months so it should be able to withstand 0,8G of pandoran gravity for few minutes

    Minor things that keep this a bit unrealistic: - We cant make antimatter in any serious way. - We cant store antimatter in any serious way - The ship should be quite longer than shown in the movie, it was cut because it would appear all in one in the imagine (or so they say). - Unobtanium is well... scifi. Superconductors would be the way to go (if possible). - And more.... And STILL its the most realistic ship to date and we use it to go to the closest star.... (space travel sucks).

  • @eliharman
    @eliharman 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The most unrealistic thing to me was burning the fusion drives down into atmo. I thought it was cool how they lowered the cargo pods below them. But really, fusion would be too low thrust for that application. It'll get you up to high speed over a long period of time but it's not going to lift or lower anything against the gravity of a planet or moon...
