Jeffery’s dad was an officer (colonel) in the. Vietnam war era which he would then have made about $2,000 a month (give or take) when he got injured he would have received if the VA system consider him fully disabled (hard to prove especially then) he would have received $450 a month. Further more the Veterans Health care system is more broken than the standard health care system. Most charities that are veterans forward only donate a small percentage to the actual veterans or veterans service. Hope that helps-wife of a disabled veteran.

Only to be in the headlines months later for almost dying from an OD. Followed by the next docuseries where she admits she was on drugs the entire time she claimed to be sober. However, she’s now sober so buy her album and watch her NEW docuseries.….Rinse, Repeat. I don’t judge her relapses. I judge the constant shameless money grab for lying and side-eye the praise for her “honesty”

I love what you’ve done with the place is so good though, what a hilarious thing to say

i think her family just never gave her a strong sense of self. I think the cult so easily influenced her because she was sort of a blank canvas in a way. It also seems like throughout the book the parents knew something was up but never really intervened because she seemed to be practicing a religion they themselves already instilled in her. The parents also seem like folks who were going through identity issues themselves and couldnt give her a strong sense of self that would cause someone to be worry of people like the people in the cult.

The audiobook was excellent and thoroughly interesting. I have the time to settle in for a good read.

I love Ina. She worked hard, has great instincts and ideas, and knew what the market wanted before others did. BUT so much of her luck is privilege. Her awful family had money for college, grad school, glass houses and fancy weddings. When she gets into adult financial jams, Jeffrey’s salary (and financial knowledge) or her well-connected Hamptons pals get her out of almost every tight spot.

You have to have some respect. Always. But particularly when you didn’t live the 90s or couldn’t even research that time well. 90210 was a hit worldwide for 10 years straight. The world consumed the show, the merchandising that included dolls, sheets, posters, fashion items, etc, the paparazzi followed them everywhere particularly Tori, Luke and Jason all the time. Stories sold for hundreds of thousands monthly. No social media but 15,000 showed at airports in Madrid, Mexico or Japan. 50,000 closed down malls in LA and they had to be hidden in laundry carts to make their way out of there. Pls, don’t mock her and her fame. You just sound ridiculous, ignorant and resentful. I understand you may want to make this humorous somehow to engage viewers as opposed to right out reading from the actual book. But imagine how famous she still is 34 years since her show premiered that you are here talking about her and her life.
