It’s an oversized honey badger
This is way worse than dogman
It reminds me of the sea monster called "scylla" from God of war : ghost of Sparta that Kratos kills.
The octoshark, one of my favourites
I work in engineering for an agro support company. The fact we build things that food gets transported in protects me from Roko's Basilisk. I am actively helping it come into existence by supplying the means to feed the people that will ultimately create the Basilisk at some time in the future.
There is also a viable elk population in Pennsylvania
aero-plankton?! so... possible aero crabs... mmh
aerobob skypants
I’m sorry to say that the shark chimera is not the cryptid ‘Lusca’. The shark/dragon component is a reference to how powerful and predatory the cephalopod is. It is closest related to living octopuses, rather than other cephalopods. The largest cephalopods on earth are relatives of the Humboldt squid, and there is an extinct form of Sepia which was called the Kraken in the ancient world- that animal had a cuttlebone, distinguishing it from Lusca and contemporary squids. Invertebrate cryptozoology is very obscure and I still love your channel and the video! God Bless you
I love how you respect every 💯 cryptid...😊😊😊
Mother 👩 👩🍼 Leeds borne a lil devil 😈 😊😊😊
This is a scary 😨 😳 😬 1... Its basically *Not a Dear* with bat wings 🪽!!!😊😊😊
This critter is REAL 😊😊😊
I generally don't like cryptic channels much but yours is really nicely done. Somehow everything fits in, the music 🎶, narration, the rare cases, the healthy skepticism the whole package 📦 is ferry ⛴️ naiz 😊😊😊
I’ve always found it funny that “Sharktopus” turned out to be a “real” mythical monster and not something SyFy just made up.
Bob gymlan has a great discussion on these creatures. They seem very likely to actually exist. Not half shark half octopus but just giant octupus. Lusca attacks are well recorded in these parts, something is getting pulling these people under never to seen again and if you actually understand how it works you can see that its not differential P. Differential P is not something that can get you instantly out of nowhere with no water being disturbed on top
look up the story of Sean P. Ingham the Bermudan crab fisherman. He started setting his traps deeper than other fishermen and discovered a new species of large edible crab which is actually named after him. But he discovered something was enveloping and crushing his traps and attempting to get to the crabs inside. One day he tried to bring up a trap and found that the trap actually pulled back and started "walking" along the seabed. The Fishfinder sonar showed a large mass covering the trap. Eventually he managed to haul up a trap with what seemed to be a huge gelatinous octopus wrapped around the cage. He attempted to gaffe it but the flesh ripped apart on the hook. gelatinous octopi of large size do exist as NZ squid expert Richard O'Shae has the corpse of one, found in 2002, the largest known to science, which would have been almost 4 metres long when living.
the sheer quality (and inclusion of aquatic ambience from DKC) makes me want to explore your cavernous holes
Why does the spinning food at the ends of your videos look so delicious? I come here to hear about cool cryptids and I always leave hungry.
Why does the donkey Kong country soundtrack work so well for mysterious cryptid videos lol
A fun cryptid, given the nightmare realm it's said to exist in.
I remember when this one was in the plausible cryptids Iceberg series. It stood out a bit from the others.
Its one of the cryptids on there that I think back on every now and again like "Damn thats soo cool"
1:55 Giant velvet worm *instantly* comes to mind. Same environment color and tendency to eat almost anything. A geothermal cave system hidden deep underground with high co2 levels could also explain their tendency to emerge and consume vast amounts of vegetation before retreating to the warmth once more.
The "Spotted Hyenas" at 21:30 are African Wild Dogs. Otherwise, well done, Bill.
The Lusca always struck me as more of a supernatural Cryptid than an animal tbh
The natives no more believe the lusca is a half octopus half shark than English speakers believe the tiger shark has whiskers and fur. It’s just an implication that this cephalopod is as dangerous as a shark.
This. A giant, aggressive octopus able to traverse these virtually unknown underwater cave systems, stealthily dragging unsuspecting swimmers down to the crushing depths is way more terrifying and reasonable than a literal sharktopus.
Shut up you're ruining this for me
Love how your videos 📹 end. Very nutritional...😊😊😊
is their 2 movies about sharktopus
Great video! This one earned you a sub. For those with interest in the Lusca, I recommend Bob Gymlan's old video Cryptids that Kill. There's some additional evidence that wasn't shared in this one.
Excellent video, and creator , has fallen off a bit in my opinion but no doubt he will find his feet again .
@@WeAreInYourWall going on Rogan always drags people down in terms of quality content imo. Gymlan has been one of the best in recent years. While I've never been a believer in bigfoot, I appreciate his thoughtful remarks
*It lives!!!*
Lusca? Its clearly a Sharktopuss.
megalodons were warm water coastal sharks who primarily ate whales, if they weren't already extinct humans hunting most while to or nearly to extinction would have ended them
White tells are noticed to eat humans during especially harsh and cold 🥶 😬 winters...😢😢😢
Reminds me of movie 🎬 "The Thing" brrrr
Maybe the real Black Carpet was the friends we made along the way?
I’m swearing that thumbnail better be clickbait
It’s not fucking sharktopus🤣 it’s a giant octopus cmon bro!
When I was a wee lad I drew this as a Pokémon. I had never heard of a cryptid or the Lusca.
Lusca is definitely one of those cryptids that needs a pokemon counterpart.
Woop woop new vid drop
Climate change is no longer an accepted reason for Megalodons extinction. A study found that they could live in Arctic waters. Remember, Megalodon had a cosmopolitan distribution, meaning it is found worldwide. The main reason for its extinction was changing ecosystem.
The whole concept of Lusca just sounds too insane for it to actually exist. This feels more like a movie kaiju than an actual living creature.
7:11 Jeremy Wade is a badass dude! He straight jumped in the water to make sure that he got the Goonch!! 8:35 People who say that know literally nothing about the animal. 10:05 Octopus are awesome! Im surprised they dont get more credit. I think I must make a Lusca figurine at some point. That's too cool of a creature to not make!
Most likely it’s just a sighting of a shark eating squid
Or maybe a squid eating a shark, having grabbed it from behind and eating it tail first?
Most Likely written from a couch from a moms basement
@@universalflamethrower6342 Look in the mirror ;)
The abominable Shark Octopus hybrid lol
Since you just did a land cryptid and this is a sea cryptid, might I suggest an air cryptid from Florida called the "Pink Carnivorous Cloud"?
WTF? That's a new one to me
@jackalope2302 It's partly a cryptid and also partly a ghost, and partly an old Native American Chief's curse... It literally sounds like something that'd be in an SCP file, but it's actually something you can look up.
@26th_Primarch oh I had heard this story once. Really damn weird. I'm reminded of the D&D monster, the Crimson Death or that vampire cloud in Star Trek: TOS.
I figured I'd write another comment since my first one was stupid. There's such an odd appeal about this particular cryptid. Maybe it's because a giant spider in a jungle just feels right or because I grew up with Peter Jackson's King Kong. Either way. I must say that the idea is awesome! I'd love to see someone do a speculative biology version of this spider, as an actual spider, though a crab version would be great too! The whole boogyman story makes the most sense for the J'ba FoFi, and then white people coming in the jungle took it too literally.
Just found your channel. Been binge watching all your vids. Keep up the good work
Glad my recommendation got picked again, my last recommendation would be the “waheela”. The giant white wolf of the Nahanni Valley which could probably have an entire video dedicated to that area itself since they have alot of odd things occur there.
I'd like to imagine that the Lusca is a species of Cephalopod that evolved to mimic the appearance and behavior of sharks to hide from predators
A lot of them already mimic other animals and objects so I could see a species taking it to another level.
@lilwaterbill6244 Good point
Makes plenty of sense to me!
Absolutely reasonable.
