2024 Mid Summer Pepper Paradise...will there be Millions!?
The 2024 season has been a bit slower going then 2023, we had a lot of rain, many cloudy days in Wisconsin. A far cry from full on sun for 3 months straight with little rain. You'll see I still have little to complain about though. Pods are showing up weeks later on shorter plants, but still showing!
This year I have over 250 plants across 100+ varieties.

Welcome to the pepper jungle of 2024. It has been a slower year in Wisconsin with all the rain and clouds. I also had a minor setback that killed several plants, I believe I tried to feed them too much swamp juice, what I call the liquid runoff that collects after compost sits in a bucket for a year, its quite concentrated and I probably used it too strongly. The main patio will be rearranged t...

September Garden Update! THERE ARE MILLIONS!!

The progress is pretty wild. The Oval Garden shown, is my pride and joy! In the center is a rotting stump that I assume helps feed the plants. Its been dead since at least 2019. On top of the ground around the stump I layered several inches of 2 years worth of compost and sod I dug off my gardens. It had too much clay from the sod, but was likely very rich. Then I used 10gallon grow bags, which...

Oval Garden June 2023

This year I upgraded my Circle Garden to an Oval Garden, going from 10 10gallon grow bags and 10 spackers, I have 15 10gallon and 15 5gallon, 4 of those 5 gallons are marked to just be spacers to help with harvesting the middle. The stump is being eaten away by the fungus.
Main Chinense Garden Part 2

2023-06-11 This is my main Chinense Garden. I mounded up my dirt this year to help keep some part of the plants roots above the ground soil level which being heavy in clay, retains water. Garden is 26 feet by 14 feet, 11 full columns of 8 rows and an extra with 3 rows at the end.

This is made with ten(10) 10-gallon grow bags and some buckets as spacers to act as the barrier to a raised bed. Basically just using grow bags to form the edge of a raised bed.
thats an amazing pepper garden, alot of peppers for the size of the plants
nice plants, what kind of feedings do you give them?
Do you have an online shop?
Absolutely love this. Thanks for sharing.
Incredible and inspiring! Two questions for you: Where are you located to have such nice growth still happening in late Sep AND what do you do with all those super hot peppers?
Insane amount of plants. I’m jealous 😂
Amazing! What do you feed the peppers? Mind sharing?
Thank you! Every year I amend bagged soil with the recommended per gallon amounts of blood meal, bone meal, alfalfa meal, kelp meal(not any more tho), azomite dust, langbeinite, crab meal, humic acid. I used fish fertilizer (not anymore if its $45 tho) in the growth stage and then whatever the cheapest flowering stage hydro nutes I could find here and there when I found time. But plants were also planted with myco and worm castings for the soil life, along with varying amounts of the amendments just listed.
What fertilizer do you use
Definitely must keep that pepper with the "mutant pedals". Never seen such a thing but beautiful!
Hell yeah
Dude ! You are truly Blessed . I am so jealous , im gonna be working on my pepper patch soon and will just try to overwinter. I am in zone 9 in S.E. Texas
Pimenta barra do Ribeiro. Super productive. Make them with a cowboy candy recipe. Very nice amd pretty plant.
What is your potting mix recipe?
Sorry for the late response! I aim for 1/3 pearlite and vermiculite mix. Then about 1/3 good more expensive soil, and the rest the cheapest I can find and peat moss. Then every year I amend it with the recommended per gallon amounts of blood meal, bone meal, alfalfa meal, kelp, azomitite dust, langbenite, crab meal, humic acid.
I have to say this is one of the most impressive PEPPER gardens I have seen on the tube 🎯🎯🎯
You did not give the name of the nutrient before the crab meal.
Oops that was alfalfa meal.
Cool chili jungle, you got 😁
What is your potting mix
I and I presume that many of your followers would like to know your fertilizer mix so that we can experiment to achieve close to the same results as you.
whats the background story lol
this video is one of the most amazing things ive ever seen
Dude you are in WI?!?? We live in CA now and grow chilis but hail from the Driftless!
Do you use water soluble fertilizer?
Yeah, fish fert and then the cheapest bloom nutes I can find
LOVE the update! And yes, those do look like CAP455 at 14:33 :P
Appreciate the update. Cant wait to see those later in the season.
Fantastic new growth! Excited to see pods already 🎉
Very nice garden.
Do you sell seeds?
I don't yet, just trade
They're looking very lush! Even if you've had setbacks.
Nice❤ was amazed with you garden. Do you have facebook page?
Sorry I don't
Dude, your plants always look amazing! It’s like a thriving South American jungle! I grow peppers every year too. Question, i’m assuming you save seeds from all the unique peppers you grow. If I sent you a stamped and addressed envelope, would you throw some pepper seeds in there and send them back my way? Even if they were mixed seeds from random varieties, not labeled. Wouldn’t cost you a thing! I’ll send you a few bucks if you want.
Thank you.I'm not sending my address across youtube yet tho. MattsPeppers.com is a fantastic place to order from in about a week.
beautiful garden love how you keep it simple.. do you ever pinch flowers off for the plant to focus on veg growth? i got like 40 super hots goin here in so cal, my reapers and habaneros are doing solid but ive been pinching them to get as big as possible before i just let them explode
I only tend to pinch flowers on Annuum plants when they are quite small. I am in Wisconsin though, we might get 20 days above 90F.
That is insane
It's really impressive how your garden look like, I'd love to see it this year!
Bro, you got the best selection here! Those Mexi bells look amazing, you got the best super hotts. The chocolate gator jigsaws are so cool lookin! Mix a bunch of random seeds together and send them to me. 🤞🏻 I would love to plant them and be surprised! And I bet there’s so many accidental crosses there from bees and wind, that the seeds will just come out with some amazing unique varieties! I’ll pay shipping! And what do you use for fertilizer? These plants are so lush, vigorous and healthy!
It’s a jungle out there! Oh, by the way, do you mean myco as in mycorrhiza? Half the first garden you showed got Mycorrhiza and the other have didn’t?
Love what you've done with the space.
Where to get Dream Weaver seeds? Excellent garden btw.
Hey brotha what kind of soil mix/amendments do you use if you dont mind me asking?
god damn bro and thats an understatement magic work.
This has to be the best pepper-p0rn video on youtube! Not sure how this can even be legal. 🤗
The most insane pepper garden. Im just starting my own pepper plant. Newbie
Hello these videos are awesome, I want to have a patch just like yours. But the only thing I’m struggling with is gathering seeds, would you ever consider gifting a few of the basics seeds to a starting noob like me? Appreciate the time you take to showing each plant I can just watch this video all day. Thanks
Where can I get those grow bags?
Badass
do you save your seeds from your own plants or do you buy new ones every year? asking cause having so many pepper varities so close by will result in cross polination and the seeds will be hybrid right?....also awesome garden btw
🍄
Wow that's a pepper garden.. awesome job, whats the soil mixture for those pots..
Very nice man !!!
What's he going to do with all those peppers
Could you pls share how you mix your soil or amendments & fertilizer used? I'm starting to plant and I'm in a tropical island. Would love to start something inspiring like yours again. I could nvr get my peppers to produce as much. Thanks
