    Hi Alec. I can remember when I was younger always having a pocket full of change and using it with the bills to get quarters back for the laundry mat machines, before those debit card things that you had to fill. I recently took 50$ in pennies to the bank which was interesting because you cannot buy penny wrappers any more. I guess we all started using our cards more during covid and realized that we get points or bonuses for using them. Take care Owen m

    This IS really what I ve been searching for. Sir thank you for your video. I dont have furnace so its air distribution system made Just for fireplace insert. I guess my two fans May not be powerfull enough to get that air trought all rooms... Sir please, what amount of air per hour can your fan distribute? And what is size of your heated area? Thank you again and wish you doing great

      I use a Vortex in-line fan. It moves about 750 cu ft per minute. I put it on a variable switch because at full speed it can be noisy. We do have central heating with ducts running to every room. But some rooms are not used much so we have stopped air flow to them. We also have a couple of ceiling fans to try & move the air around. If you stove is in the basement (or 1st floor), you might be able to get decent movement upstairs. Moving hot air horizontally is tough & can only be accomplished with fans. Good luck. Let me know if I can help again. Alec

      @AlecPeirceAtTheRanch Thank you for response. Yes We have 2 floors And Its really like foot And half from the ceiling its like 5degrees (celsius) warmer than at About center of room height. So ceiling fan may be good too. We have like 300 Square meters together to heat And each floor has its own branch of air duct. Two fans can together do About 1600m3 of hot air per hour. What size is you heated area please?

    I keep a similar jar 😂I don't know about Canada, but here in the U.S. we have Coinstar machines at local retailers. You dump your jar into the machine and it automatically sorts the coins and then prints you a receipt that you turn in to the customer service desk for cash. Coinstar charges a small fee, but it's worth it not having to sort and count all that change. Merry Christmas to you and yours Alec!

    If the torque wrench is out of calibration, can it be recalibrated by the user or must it be sent back to the manufacturer?

    • @AlecPeirceAtTheRanch
      @AlecPeirceAtTheRanch 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Manufacturers insist that any calibration must be done by a factory approved tech. It is not an inexpensive process, in my opinion, for what is a 5 minute procedure. I had & used a torque wrench calibration instrument for a while but sold it. It simply wasn't used very much. However, while that's a good idea for a business, say, mechanics, for liability reasons, for the average DIY, there are 2 solutions. 1. If your test reveals that the wrench is off, decide if the inaccuracy is substantial enough to need correcting. Generally, except in high precision cases, the torque value can be out by a few ft/lbs and not be a problem. If you test the wrench at several different levels, say, 50 ft/lbs, 100 ft/lbs, 150 ft/lbs & 200 ft/lbs, and you find the discrepancy is the same at each level, simply remember that amount and account for it when you set the wrench. That is, if the required torque is 100 ft/lbs and you know the wrench reads low by 10 ft/lbs, simply set if for 110. It will be close. You should also know that any wrench may read slightly differently under different conditions. Temperature & humidity can affect the wrench. Different operators may hold the wrench slightly differently and thus give a slightly different reading. These differences may be small but it shows that a slightly off reading is not a serious issue. Slightly off is subjective of course but I'd suggest a difference of up to 10% is not worrisome. That's 5 ft/lbs at a setting of 50, 10 ft/lbs at a setting of 100 or up to 20 ft/lbs at a setting of 200. Many technical service manuals will provide a range of torque values for each application. That is, the specified torque may show as "145 ft/lbs, +or- 5 ft/lbs" or simply say that the torque is 140 to 150 ft/lbs. The common although mistaken practice of going beyond the "click", "just to make sure", likely produces a greater difference than 10%. 2. Some torque wrenches are easily adjusted. I understand, although have not tried it, that the old-style bar wrench could be adjusted by by bending the indicator bar a tiny bit to alter the reading. The click-type which is spring loaded, can be adjusted by placing or removing spaces under the spring. I suppose the digital wrenches might need technical attention. I might do some trial tests to see if these ideas work well & make a video about that. Thanks for your question. Alec

    • @jphickory522
      @jphickory522 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Alec, what you wrote all makes sense. I use an old fashion beam style torque wrench. It is claimed the beam style never needs calibration, which is a great feature. As you wrote, the pointer can be bent back to read zero, if it already isn’t, when there is no torque being applied. Depending on the task at hand, the beam style can be difficult to read and that is a serious downside to them. I have wanted a ratchet style one, like in your video, but was always concerned about the need and cost of recalibration. You made valid points and I may invest in one. Thank you!

    • @AlecPeirceAtTheRanch
      @AlecPeirceAtTheRanch 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @jphickory522 I had a digital wrench for a while, a cheap one granted, but after stripping a regulator body twice, I literally threw it away. I still have the filing cabinet with the dent in it. Get a decent click type. Probably cost about $75 but I'm sure you'll be happy.

    It's basically just a wood furnace surrounded by a fireplace is what you're trying to say.

      Few fireplaces have outside air feeding them which is what makes it so hot.

    Hmm. I've got 650 feet of piping hanging off my pitless adapter. As buff as Ryan is, not sure we could wrestle it up since it weighs over 1300 lbs.

    Red dotting varmits in the chicken house at night I like the semi auto for multiple shots fast

    Bolt guy myself, I have more semi autos ,but bolt guns are cleaner, more accurate and just by the action alone makes the shooter slow down on the trigger for less ammunition wasting

      Between the two, I'm a bolt guy also. Takes me back to being a kid with just 2-3 rounds for a morning hunt. A

    I just baught my first rifle on my own at 47. My dad got me my first one when I was 15. I tried sighting in the scope without a bore sight. But baught one couple weeks ago and just got time to use it. I like how easy you made it look. Thanks.

    My dad taught me to shoot over 60 years ago with a single shot. His opinion was you only have one shot so make it count. I have never owned or fired a semi so I can't offer an opinion on them.

      I used to go hunting with 2-3 rounds in my singe shot so thinking through the shot was very important. A
