Hello From Central Kentucky. I was scrolling here on TH-cam and immediately stopped when I noticed the 1020 John Deere. Wow, It has been many years since I had seen one of those tractors which brings me back to my childhood years back in the 1970s in which one of the horse farms in my area had two of the gasoline engine 1020s and a 2520 gasoline John Deere. The two 1020 John Deere tractors had the mid mounted John Deere side sickle mowers in the days before the “Batwing” mowers came on to the scene for cutting large swaths which was very necessary for large acreages. Dad used to borrow one of the tractors for mowing the property where I live at now because the 1020 with the side sickle mower was perfect to cross over the creek to mow down the taller grass that usually didn’t get mowed all that often. The farm ordered all of their John Deere tractors with the orchard exhaust system rather than the standard tractor muffler like what your 1020 has. That plow turned out rather nicely with the powder coating.

Don't fret that drain plug cause we all have done it. I have a 1972 2020 diesel I poured a ton of money into a new engine last year. I love the 20 series tractors too. Have ran them a lot in my early years. Make you a wand and clean the radiator by blowing from the fan side forward. Cleans it a lot better. Clean the filter from the inside out too but don't blow a hole in it.

What brand or what source did you get the radiator used in this video? So many aftermarket radiators have complaints about the fit.

Can you make some longer videos with the 1020?

We use a super a to pull logs all the time! It fits nice as n tight spots!

Did that on our 3020 forgot to put in drain plug!

Y habría varios controles más que hacer dependiendo del intervalo de servicio. Como ser: Estado de la batería y los terminales. Nivel de refrigerante. (No agua). Recorrido libre del pedal del embrague. Tensión de la correa del alternador. Entre otros.

Que tal estimado. Viendo su video no puedo menos que preguntarle algunas cosas que sinceramente me sorprendieron. Tienen una pérdida importante de líquido que ayuda a tapar el radiador y a mantener todo sucio dificultando la limpieza. Y la dejan así????!!!!!!!!! Hacen el mantenimiento entre toda esa mugre????? Sacan el filtro de aire y le dan aire comp desde fuera hacia adentro???? Sopletean la zona sin tapar el cuerpo del filtro???? Engrasan sin limpiar los alemites???? Por decir lo más notorio...... Debo decirle que a mi parecer este video es un ejemplo de lo que no se debe de hacer en un mantenimiento. Se lo digo con todo respeto. Abrazo y saludos a todos. Tampoco revisó bujías de encendido ni el nivel de aceite de la transmision.

Looks good! F35, which was a 3 bottom, was the plow for this tractor. Currently, I have an Oliver 6241 rollover on my 1020. Here is the catch, its an 18 inch bottom. Little much for mine and I will be downsizing this year. Rumor on the street, John Deere had the Frontier 2 bottom plow discontinued. I will still probably buy one next month. Keep up the good work Ben! Those 20 series tractors are a work horse!

Thank you for this. I grew up with a 1972 1020. We pulled a three bottom plow with slatted mouldboards to reduce friction. Even so, it really made the tractor snort.
