Flood-Proofing NYC: The High-Tech Battle Against Rising Sea Level | SLICE EARTH
Today, a significant threat looms over New Yorkers: 400,000 of them reside in flood-prone areas. In a bid to safeguard the city, engineers are envisioning remarkable technologies, such as a colossal deployable wall that can unfurl around Manhattan. They've even developed anti-flooding balloons for tunnels and conceived "waterproof" buildings. In the face of this imminent threat, innovative ideas have emerged, including the placement of oyster beds on seawalls to slow down the force of powerful waves.
Despite the immense creativity poured into conceptualizing and implementing these solutions, along with hundreds of millions of dollars invested, there remains no guarantee that New York City will be spared the consequences of rising sea levels.

The oceans are not rising. In 1970 north of Boston a friend of mine and myself chiseled a line in bedrock at the hgh tide line. Surprise but that has not changed by even 1mm in the last 54 years. This whole global warming climate cult is total manipulative fear and control. It obviously is not true. If the oceans were rising do you think Obama would of bought his mansion on Martha's Vinyard island off of Cape Cod.

Reading the comments is startling. Ecosystems tend to maintain a balance. The introduction of invasive species (fungi, insect, mammal, reptile, virus, etc.) can wreak havoc on an ecosystem. Boom for one species, and a loss for so many others. Exotic invasives are more polluting than CO2, that's for damn sure. Either way, I'm hungry after watching this, and need to gather some indigenous crayfish to get my crustacean fix on. Can't afford king crab, lol.

I think after you have done all your marine science stuff, the next step is making crab traps and finding a cheap but effective food source to catch them and sell them to market, spread the word to all the chelfs that king crab is on the menu.
