I'd love to see more Venza videos.... I just purchased my neighbor's 2011 2GF-FE AWD Venza and its got a crazy noisy drivetrain I'm in the midst of investigating. I'm the 2nd owner and my neighbor kept this thing fully serviced at the dealer since new, always garaged, so its worth my investing some time and money to get the driveline quieted down.

Why not replace the bearings at the same time? I don't have a leak but I have a "womp womp womp" noise that increases in frequency with speed that I'm guessing are the bearings inside this housing. Will be testing with my chassis ears this weekend to verify. Any other Venza issues since this video? thanks for making it. I love your shop.

Thanks for your details here. I do wonder what vehicle application this box comes from...? I'm doing a 64 Fastback. I went with the Borgeson Power steering conversion box.. Even it, did go effortlessly either. The box is slightly bigger than the stock box, it require some custom grinding for clearance, for it sit flush to the inner frame rail. Not the box, but the frame rail,(Borgeson is clear in their instructions not the grind the box), or risk no warranty coverage.. the rest did go smoothly though.. Keep them coming brother....

Great story. I feel your pain. It should have been one of those rolling fish bowl pacers. When I worked in Brooklyn in the 1980's, on a road test I stopped at a blocked off area under the Brooklyn Bridge. They had 2 identical beautiful dark blue limos. Even had the same personalized NY plates. They had 2 because they were about to blow one up, and needed the other for some scenes yet to be filmed. That's the kind of thing they do. I also saw them build a warehouse on a pier, just to blow it up in a movie. Everyone who lived in the area went on their roofs to watch.

One Rockford Files episode, they even swapped to an older Firebird with a different grill/nose and the older style rear window which did not wrap around. Kind of cheesy, but at least they were not regularly destroying cars. LOL
