The Littorio Hulll was 100% Red, not Green. Only the ships built in Trieste were green because the anti-fouling produced there was developed in the Austo Hungarian dominance; the AH ships also had green hulls with a weird Magenta waterline. Livorno and Genoa had standard red anti-fouling produced in nearby chemical plants. Vittorio Veneto and Roman had originally Green hulls, while Littorio and Impero had red ones.

Still waiting for Fujimi, Hasegawa, Tamiya or even Aoshima to produce a 1/350 scale model of Soryu. Great work building this kit.

Well done! Been working on mine since it was issued. Mine came with metal barrels in the box. They are beautifully machined, but they make the model rather heavy and put a lot of strain on the rising/holding gears. I did build the plastic ones...I epoxied wooden dowels as I assembled the halves and this allows me to chuck them in a hand drill and sand the seams perfectly round.

The pace of this video is just right for me. Also, for the first time ever, by watching this video, I am able to comprehend how to use (not included in the Academy kit) photo-etched parts (metal, flat pieces). I found the alphanumeric kit number for the photo-etched parts in the kit. The Academy kit includes a polystyrene plastic deck which apparently has been replaced with a wooden deck (not included in the Academy kit). I also found the kit number for the wooden deck, by taping on the title of this video on my smartphone to drop-down display the description for this video. With either an alphanumeric kit number or a numeric kit number, I can search / find more details about a kit on the internet.
