Mr Rochester is just a lonely conniving selfish man, that lies and uses Jane as a puppet...this isn't a love story, it's a story filled with anger, lies and adultery.
'The Slipper And The Rose' (1976/1977) Version. Beautiful era costumes, fantasy and people. Richard Chamberlain... ummm... simply devine and delicious. ;-* (Sort of busted my bubble of my idol a few weeks ago, when someone mentioned in 'Bourne Identity' (Ft. RichardChamberlain)... that in later years, he was in a relationship where women weren't on the live-in menu). Shocked the El out of me!! Oh well. ̄(=∵=) ̄
From South Africa thanks for sharing, I found it interesting. the word incorrigible and 2024 social disposition is still a reality. Worked and cared for patients with AIDS and XDR, MDR TB
There is more to this movie than a simple falling in love story. Edie's is the kind of woman to be admired and emulated. There is so much in this movie about what it means to be a truly good person...and how good people behave. I needed this. Thank you for making this a free movie.
and then..of course..the BBC series based on the wonderful novels of P.G.Woodhouse..."Jeeves and Wooster"...watch it..they are a feast for your eyes if you like the English countryside and stately homes..as well as brilliantly funny..played by Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie...:)
oh..there is another very tasteful and romantic movie..."A Little Chaos"..(with Alan Rickman as the Louis XIV and Kate Winslet in the role of a female aspiring Garden Designer at a time when women and profession were simply not known of...it is stylish, romantic, tasteful..and with dialogues of often deep life wisdom (I think Alan Rickman directed it, too) it is WORTH your time watching I promise... ;)
Lol, it was such a plot twister, finding out that Mr. Hamilton was literally her uncle and that the estate was hers. And when Amy said "I wish we were blood relatives" I was like, 'Well, have I got news for you!'😂
Louis was my favorite character and I loved it when he came back and owned up to his crime, and they didn't even seem to care he had stolen it. They were just happy that it wasn't Edith and instead ordered Ida out. 😂😊 Lol, when I got the movie from the library, it said not rated but then said it had profanity. I waited the whole movie and didn't hear one word but 'hell'. 😂 Boy, language sure isn't what it used to be!
It does not follow the book, there are many changes and you can definitely see the "modernism" in it, however, it does do the book justice. It isn't perfect, movies rarely are when compared to books, but it is not lost on the book. It does the characters justice and I enjoy watching it.
Hat nie mehr so ein schönes Cinderella gegeben wie mit diesen großartigen Schauspielern😍einfach nur schön. Und der Humor kommt auch nicht zu kurz, PERFEKT, Danke👍👍👍👍👍💝

Loved this movie. Its like a different version of Cinderella but better. Her profile reminds me of Judy Garland.
😭🥹🥰
I'm such a sucker for a happy ending. I love period movies.
Very good film. A gem I just discovered. Thank you for the upload. : )

Enjoyed seeing Thomas Gibson in a different role. This was a great way to spend the afternoon.😊
For real! I only knew him as Hodge from Criminal Minds. 👏

Movie was so good, I watched it two times in a row :). The acting was superb! ❤
ENDING: This movie has a remarkably awesome ending. A full circle. Like the last stitch in a beautiful quilt!
The story n setting remind me of Barbara Cartland's classic novels when I was 14..now I'm 61
Where did you go Regency Girl???
The end was emotional ❤🥺🥺
Little Women was the first real book I read. After that I was a bookworm!
I've read but never finish it 😢

When people used to have values and know what shame is...now we have one night stand culture and dumb humans 🤡

Truly lovely film, you can't beat Louisa May Alcott, in a class of her own:) ❤️
Beautiful movie, sad that in those days you had to be high society to marry into it.
