I think fnaf 2 has really over-exaggerated rng. like I get where people are coming from but the only nights where the rng is really frustrating is fazbear fever and golden Freddy

My theory: This question to why Foxy isn't fooled by the mask is incredibly simple: All the toys (and withered) have been installed with advanced facial recognition systems of some sorts. Same would be applied to the withereds, but of-course we already know the withereds went unused, and Foxy simply just didn't have any facial recognition programs installed. This means he isn't forced to abide by any programming which would usually force both the animatronic and the spirit possessing their suit to remain passive and not attack any guest deemed as one of their own. The facial recognition also can only be reset once they leave the office and they must wait a few minutes before the spirits can wipe the scanning data completely, hence why they don't simply just wait in the office and camp you. On the otherside like I said? Foxy does NOT need to abide by this. So when he see you put on the Freddy mask, it has no effect as no program has been put in place for him to have to abide by it. On the other hand, the reason why the flashlight works on Foxy was probably because the spirit inhabiting him had really poor eyes before he died during his life. So the animatronic itself is not actually affected by the flashlight, but the spirit is. This is why Foxy backs off so much whenever you flash the light at him. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk!
