Not exactly a how to video, but proof that anyone can do their own brake job and save tons of money. This job took us about 2 1/2 hours but that was because we had to hit the store to buy a socket we needed.

2008 infinity g37 coupe “muffler delete”
มุมมอง 2.8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
125k miles G37 coupe muffler delete, resonators still on. Love the rumbling at idle and low rpm, when you step on it....... it definitely lets everyone know. I still need to lift my car and check the shields on the catalytic converters, I’ll do a video on my findings !

2008 infinity g37 125k miles - 3/4” Heater Hose connector Buy the metal one if you can wait till it comes, any auto parts store should carry this connector. Don’t bother telling them your car or what year, they will look for an OEM one and it’s not necessary.

2008 infinity G37 rattle noise explanation
มุมมอง 55K5 ปีที่แล้ว
2008 infinity G37 with 120sh thousand miles, rattle noise coming directly from under the car and can’t be heard as strong from the top of engine. Bad catalytic converter won’t blow up your engine but you might get a light on the dash board . No lights for me and I’ll be updating once I decide to get it done, not really in a rush to do this just yet.
2008 infinity g37 rattle noise
มุมมอง 5K5 ปีที่แล้ว
My 2008 G37 is making a weird rattling sound, no lights on the dash or sluggish power. It just bugs the hell out of me !! The date of this upload I’m taking it to my local mechanic to see where exactly the sound is coming from so I can at least know what’s going on. Thank you for watching !!! #G37,#catalyticconverter
They all do it.
Ive been wondering wtf tht noise was on mines🤦🏾♂️thanks for the vid🫡
did you fix the cat issue???
Test pipes that mf
Where’s the link ?
I fuckin hate it when the Video actually is the same as my concern 😢
Fawk
Same here on my 2014 q50s , but I’m completely ignoring it 😂
California yeah they stick it to us man it’s really true… I was looking for a catalytic converters aftermarket and you cannot get EPA in California for some stupid reason… need to have some kind of California emissions certification or some crazy thing like that…
For me, it was a loose vaccum pump and once my mechanic took a look and made sure the connection was tight. it went away
I got a hammer and smashed it in and it went away
Will bad cats make a ticking noise coming from the engine?
No. It makes rattling noise that's inconsistent. If your ticking noise is very rhythmic, then it's something else.
Will this cause the car to lose power or sound like it's misfiring??
If it's clogged, yes. IF.
Does the rattling stop when you push in the clutch?
Yup mined is a 2008 ex35 (vq35hr)and sure enough the connector peice one day while heat was on sent a puff of smoke from right side up under my hood, did it twice then went away as i was in motion, turned heat off immediately, long story short 2 weeks later due to leak always drying before i can find it, parked it on a hill turned heat on and BAM leaking at connector, baught extra hoses and things but literally only connector peice literally snapped in half and was brittle and broke apart as i was taking it apart..... took a good hour to 2 to do so cause i shouldve purchased long needle nose pliers.....but yea problem fixed!
Just finished doing this. Unfortunately some of the old cracked plastic coupler fell down the pipe. Do you know if that is something i should be concerned about? thanks.
My car is doing the same thing. I’m glad it’s not the motor
Myn does this only after I let off the gas is it same problem
Does it sound like that all the time?. MY is on and off when it cold it rattles
I just changed this plastic connector on a 2013 G37 for an aluminum one with a bleeder. I used a Dorman 47291 connector that is easily available. If you are just replacing this connector you don't need to drain anything. Obviously wait until the car is cold then simply plug the coolant filler so no air can get in. You can't use the regular cap for this because it will vent air or coolant from the plastic reservoir back into the system once you open the system and you will then be dealing with a gusher. Put an old towel under the connector as you won't lose any more than a few ounces of coolant at most. I was able to do this without too much cursing by removing just the engine cover. Once replaced I opened the bleeder and very slightly unseated the plug on the coolant filler and the bleeder instantly filled with coolant. I then put on a burping funnel but really didn't need it as so very little coolant was lost and the bleeder worked like a charm.
My connector blew on the freeway about a month ago I just finished replacing it today and topped the coolant off but the car’s temperature keeps going high and there is no leaks, any suggestions?
@@tajmirkahmed4946 likely you still have air in the system. Check out how to bleed the coolant for G37 on TH-cam. The 3.7 is a pain in the @$$ to purge.
@@erth2man about to try it today if it don’t work imma throw the whole car in the trash can something always up with this car
@@tajmirkahmed4946 Go through the procedure of bleeding the air from the system, use a burp funnel as directed and have the front end lifted higher than the rear. Watch your temp gauge and if it goes higher than normal shut it down to let it cool off and hopefully burp some more air before trying again. I believe that you have just enough air still trapped in the system that is preventing the thermostat from opening. Take your time, have patience and you will be successful.
@@erth2man thanks man I got it to work no more overheating and the heat coming out warm finally
Wouldn’t it be better to drill it in
Did you install the back up camera
Mines is doing the same thing I hope it don’t cost to much to fix
My M37 has a very similar rattle. Did you have any engine codes BTW? My mechanic said that the check engine light should be on if your Catalytic converter is falling apart 🤔
I have a Infiniti m37x 2012 and it has a rattle and I have a engine lite check just today do you think it could be the same issue u have ?
@@lukamontana6681 it could be. Just take it to get checked out for free at autozone or something. If the code is for an oxigen sensor, then most likely it will be a bad catalytic
so what did you ended up doing because my car is making that same noise but my cats look really rusty and pieces are out
My mercedes front drive shaft broke and smacked into the passenger catalytic converter and now my car has almost the same sound.
milo bro i know it my g 35 07 is doing the same thing i know that was the issue cause when i scan my car it told me that was the issue
My car is making the exact same noise. And I was Taking it to the shop this week to get it checked. Thanks
Did it help
That sounds just like mine what did you pay?
Anyone looking for a solution , I had the same thing happen to me , so basically the inside of the cat is broken and someone can take the piece that’s inside of it so it won’t rattle no more but the catch is that your gonna have a check engine light until you replace the cats but nothing at all is wrong with the car
Do you have to drain the coolant first?
Your buggin for getting a g at a dealer ship, I get all of them used, less issues when you get them from a middle aged white man
How did you remove the noise??
I have a 2007 g35s and it makes the same noise my catalytic converters shakes as well but the car moves very sluggish and drives awful any tips?
Sheeshhhh that bish knocking 😬
Thank you for this FYI for VQ people. I had no idea this is a known issue. I am in the middle of replacing my thermostat, hoses and coolant. I will be certain to get the aluminum connector! See link below. 2010 G37s coupe: 71,000 orig miles.
The honey comb mesh piece is a thin sheet that comes loose, u can tack weld it on each side while holding it up straight with a pair of pliers , easy fix actually for a honest mechanic
Honey comb in converter is made of ceramic. How you gonna weld ceramic to steel??
Also mine sounds like that but I'm getting a random misfire do you think it might be because my cats are messed up and it sounds like it's coming from the passenger side I had a misfire in cylinder 3 replace the coil pack that's gone now but still have the random misfire if anybody can help that would be much appreciated
My Infinity G37 has a cylinder 3 misfire right now and is making rattling noise also try replacing your fuel injectors or checking those sometimes that will get rid of this cylinder 3 misfire as for the rattling noise it could be multiple things your Cadillac converter or even your heat shield will just have to access it while the car is on so you can listen
@@yungelement9947 yeah cylinder 3 misfire is gone it was a bad coil pack. But the rattling is def my cat broken on passenger side and it's super bogged down and shakes in drive but not in park.
I’m also getting random misfire code and have same rattle
Are you still getting the misfire code ? Any suggestions?
My son's g35 has that same rattle ,I replaced spark plugs and coils its was fine for a while but now it sounds like it's misfiring any advice?? Thx
All you do is get some high-flow cats and put them inside the old catalytic converter and make him look stock I've seen that a lot
Yup just got the call from the stealership that I have the se sound/ issue $2100. It just passed emissions as well. 89k miles.
I’m at 89k miles on my 08 G35 and it started making the noise on the driver side
Bro I literally got the same problem right now Did you get to fixed it bro?
Did you figure it out?
Did u feel it in yo seat was it vibrating
Can you remove the oem spoiler and just have this one on by it’s self ?
Not this one, there are other spoilers that can do thay
What happens if it keeps overheating? I didnt do the flush just added coolant
Might have debris in the coolant system from broken plastic
My g37s 4door makes a similar sound not exact a lot of these comments really help !!!
Ever fix it ?
Myn does it after letting off they as
♥️
Can hfcs pass smog?
No
What are the hoses called
How’s the spoiler holding up and do you happen to know the total length from corner to corner
This means a part broke off in your cats this can be a problem because it can start building up to much fuel in your exhaust which can lead to a lot of problems fixing this costs a lot of money so take off your converter and hollow that bitch out easiest fix.
