Engine clicks but doesnt start? Here's a hack if you are stranded!
มุมมอง 1605 หลายเดือนก่อน
If your engine clicks when trying to start but won't start, and you are confident it's not a dead battery, it could be your solenoid has stopped working. Here's a fix you can do on the water (if you are two people!) to bypass. On a Johnson 55hp from 1979 but would apply to many older motors.

(SOLVED!!) Johnson 55hp throttle adjustment issue?

(SOLVED!!) Johnson 55hp throttle adjustment issue?
Brilliant! What about the other side that needs to be pushed down, not up? :D
Hey it worked for the rear passenger side but having a hard time figuring out the rear driver side
Servo gears were stripped. The stock plastic ones are really no good. Upgraded to metal ones and its still going strong.
But i changed the servo
I had the same problem
You are a legend for putting this up! Thank you!
Dude that’s smart as hell thank you so much
Welcome!
Mine broke off :/
Thanks bro. I just did it right now. I was struggling for the last 30 minutes. Good video.
You, sir, are a genius!

@@claireh.7605 Great!
This accomplished absolutely nothing for me other than stripping the head of the bolt
Worked for one bolt but the other just lifted the entire suspension :(
Same, except neither came off for me. It just lifted my car up. wtf
You are an absolute godsend, I was finally able to get my bolts off using this method. Thank you!!!
Great idea and thanks for sharing. I will have to try this.
Omg thanks for the hack your awesome
And this just saved mine after going back and forth with it and nearly chucking it out of the window. Cheers! 💪🏼
🙌🙌
“Thank you so much for your tip! It honestly saved my day.”😅
Good idea if you have an extra jack lying around!
Just heat the bolt with a torch until it starts getting red. It will easily turn. DON’T TOUCH IT!
the other side the wrech must go down to back out the bolt...what then??
Thank you sir, you just saved my arm!
Happy to be of service!

What about Roomba i7+ 🙏🏻
Brilliant. Going through this with caliper bolts on driver rear. Quit for the day after completing passenger rear without this freezing problem. Gonna try this in morning. Thanks
Good luck let us know how it goes!
My boy it worked. Genius.
Smart idea and it shows the very useful areas where a car jack can play. I was stuck with my 2010 Prius for a whole day yesterday, as even the "in theory success-guaranteed bolt method" couldn't pull a front wheel bearing out of the knuckle hub. Instead, it pulled the bearing itself apart exposing inside steel balls etc.. Almost everything under the chassis is heavily rusted thanks to the local government's shortsighted practice of spreading salt on roads here in Canada. In a desperate final try, a humble carjack coming with the car for changing tires became one of several important components and helped me to finally remove that very stubborn bearing.
You are a genius. Thank you. Worked like a charm.
Glad to hear!
Woow
Really good idea no one did it like that I was struggling to open theses bolts now I will use the jack make it easier to open
Having trouble with the right side of the car this method will not work due to directions of bolts to the knuckle itself have you found a solution for the right side?
So what if the caliper is on the other side? For instance, your caliper is on the left of the rotor. Mine is on the right
I’m actually stupid forgot to put the linkage back on 😂 thank you !
@@trentonparr7352 worse things have happened! Good luck with the motor 👍
My guess is the plastic gears in the servo stripped. Time to upgrade the steering servo
This just happened to mine today and that was my first guess of what's causing the problem. Are the gears replaceable? Or is it better to get a whole new upgraded servo?
@@ryanm2435 you can replace the geard but very fiddly. If cost is a huge factor you can try that otherwise just but a whole new servo (thats what I did)
That is brilliant. I’m a small female who’s quite puny. I’ve been trying for 2 day to remove the caliper bolts on my Honda. I ever resorted to asking my neighbor’s help…nothing! I was ready to remove the entire assembly when I stumbled on your video. It worked beautifully. Why couldn’t my I think of that?? Thanks for sharing your garage ingenuity with us! 🚙💡😅
Great tip! For those of us without a second jack, and brain cells too fatigued by the situation...a brilliant tip was provided by another youtuber...Turn the steering wheel, which allows greater access for the longer handled tools!
how can you turn the back wheels?
Great idea. I am desperate at this point and this sounds promising :D
@@arnesbeganovic good luck!
@@JasonDainter it went really well. Quite easy I would say. Thank you very much. U saved the day :)
Well i jus samshed my finger tryna loosen. The top bolt on the front caliper so simce its 2am in chicago think ima wake up early n try this trick now lol
Good luck let us know how it goes!
This worked for me, thank you.
You helped me fix my Roomba!! Thank you!
@@lisalankford3398 happy to hear!
this wont work on the driver’s side though?
My 81 35 hp Evinrude runs much the same way. When I close the choke door rpms jump well into the mid 5000s plus and the boat planes out. I have this gasket in my kit and I KNOW I DID NOT put it in. I looked my go to marine parts explode view form Crowley Marine and it clearly shows this gasket in the parts view. Another carb removal, starter ,linkage etc. on the beach. I saved this video and will come back to it and comment for all to see Thanks to Jason for being good enough to document his struggles and to give me hope too!!!!
Awesome to hear. Yeah that little gasket in the venturi part of the engine is tiny but critical, without it air get sucked in. Led to years of pain but happy to say its going strong now! Let me know how you get on!
Good tip bud thanks

I owe you an apology, I am sorry. My wife and I were trying to find a video because I had tried air tools I had tried breaker bar I could not get the bolts to give. So what was the issue? Float was set improperly?
Full history in the other comment I made. Venturi small gasket was missing one of the carbs causing an air leak
im worried I might snap off the bolts
