Well spotted, you are right, these are Magnificent Tree Frogs. This species is only found in a small area at the top of Australia. The big glands on the sides of their heads are poison glands (only dangerous if you eat the frog) and Green Tree Frogs don't have these.

Pippa/Piper is all grown up now and back out with the family doing wild Magpie Lark stuff. Was sad to see her go, but good for her too. :)

Well hi! Long time no see.

They are Australian Magnificent Tree Frogs. Their head bumps are actually poison glands to ensure anything that eats them never eats again.

They poop roughly weekly but they eat regularly also. They start becoming active about three or so days after they eat a feed like this and would happily eat again then if I offered food. But they get to chase gut loaded crickets around for a few weeks before I offer thawed mice/rats again.

I can't catch wide awake crix to feed the girls with, they hop off all over the place instead. The cat loves that though.

Fwomp Monroe and Plop are Magnificent (or Splendid) Tree Frogs (Litoria splendida). They are native to the top of Western Australia in the Kimberley Region and a small area of the Northern Territory. The large glands on the tops of their heads are poison glands to discourage predators from eating them.

Sorry to upset you Bryan with a skull for an avatar, if I wanted to show that content for the eating competition videos you speak of, then my channel would be full of that stuff. Instead, my channel shows mostly my pets in various stages of their lives doing things that I happened to video at the time. A cat swishing her tail, a frog turning it's head, a rescued baby bird sitting on my fathers hand prior to release. The frogs eating is just a part of their natural life requirements that I took video of, no different to the cat eating biscuits, the galah eating seed, or the images of people drinking soy lattes all over instagram. Just life. If you came here looking for that, which your comments would indicate you did, then look elsewhere.

@@boovaher Can you tell how the digestive system of these frogs works, meaning they do not have teeth, so how do they digest their prey ???😂😂😂

@@dontguessme3977 Well teeth only break the prey up into little bits, or in our case, chew it up to make it easily swallowed and digestible, but a frog, snake etc, that swallows food whole would need a longer time to digest their food and likely some pretty awesome strong digestive juices too.
